Loved this little Visitor Center. Has a great selection of tourist souvenirs and gifts. The Visitor Center is located inside the old train station. Cargo Trains pass through right by it all day long and Amtrak at nights. As a parent who often thinks about safety and if I would go somewhere with my kids, I was surprised how close the tracks were with no safety barrier that would stop a child from running into the tracks. I would imagine parents would be careful but kids are fast and all it takes is a second for a kid to get away. The craig train came in so fast and it isn’t very far from the building. It was very cool to watch and fun to photograph. Just surprised there was no barrier or railing of some sort. They had so many brochures and magazines about all the different sights you can go see within a days drive in many different languages. The staff was super friendly.
Charming visitor center. Loads of free brochures for attractions in town including some free walking tours. Its also attached to the train depot, and there are no shortage of trains that come through! All the ones I saw were freight but there is an amtrak passenger stop here. Right on route 66 too!!!
Was a fun time and good place too meet my friend !
Great place to stop if youre touristing
The visitor center is delightful!! It was cute and quaint. There were quite a lot of souvenirs in the shop, but they weren’t app “touristy” and gaudy! It was a nice place and both of the gals at the desk were nice and friendly.
Great place to learn about Flagstaff and the surrounding area. Great selection of souvenirs from Flagstaff, route 66, trains, etc. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Perfect for a restroom stop also.
Stop here first! This shop is adorable and has tons of information! My wife and I ended up going on a Haunted Tour of the city and it was amazing!! All I did was ask about it and the worker provided me a map to follow through the town. Lots of shops and dining in the mean time as well. It was so fun! Do the Haunted Tour!
Interesting stuff in here.
Great place to begin your visit to Flagstaff. People are kind and accommodating and have great information for the first time and long time visitors.
If you are new to Arizona and dont have a hang for desert weather, flagstaff is your saviour. Just 3 hours away from Phoenix, it is the perfect getaway from the heat. You can do a one day trip or plan something worthwhile for the weekend. In the summers the temperature is around low 80s with possibly some rains which is an absolute bonus. In the winters it can get cold, so get some sweaters on and try out skiing.
This visitor center has a host if information. Check out the brochures stand. Theres a brochure for almost every noteworthy location around. Theres a model train and tracks lining the four walls of the visitor center. Using a quarter can make the train go a round trip. Its fun to watch that. They also have some nice souvenirs available. Parking right beside the building.
One of the better tourist info spots Ive been to. In a lovely old RR station. Lots of info, plus helpful attendants and a well priced gift shop.
Great selection of souvenirs.
Located in the old Flagstaff train station (still servicing Amtrak!), The FVC has lots of good info on Flagstaff and northern AZ. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Advice on what to do in Flagstaff was very short and the person I spoke to didnt really give me a clear idea what to do in Flagstaff. I did visit downtown Flagstaff but did find it very interesting. Not much to do downtown in my opinion.
Star was very helpful
Ice skating had no ice! Instead it was an area with some kinda plastic sheeting that you cant skate on at all!! Disappointing.... :( Thankfully it was free so we didnt waste any money
It has been awhile since I have been to Flagstaff, so I just went in there to check some things out. They have pamphlets and flyers that have discount coupons and passes. And there is also a train that comes by which surprisingly cool to watch.
Great of the Citytour
First place to go once you reach Flagstaff. Very useful info we get from them
Beautiful town. Great experience. Fun on Rt66.
Highlight for me was experiencing the huge goods trains going through the town. The visitor centre is in the old railway station - so right next to the railway lines!
The people that work there are very friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth the stop.
We had a fantastic time at the visitors center. And they gave us fantastic information and different things to do while we were there. We would recommend anybody traveling to Flagstaff for the first time to stop by.
Great place to get information about the area and places to go. Right on the mail strip near all the shops and in the train station. Nice to see the trains going by. Nice little gift shop too.
I love flagstaff. I wish I could live up there but Im not that lucky. But I do get to visit at least and when I go up to flagstaff I always stop by the visitor center to see if There are any events going on that weekend or local restaurants to take the kids to. The visitor center has it all. And their customer service is phenomenal always there to answer any questions I may have
We went to Pick up our son when he arrived by train. While waiting we visited the Vistor center. They have lots of information s on attractions for that area and neat souvenirs.
Friendly staff going above and beyond what they have to. In fact i found everyone in Arizona to be friendly, inviting and so laid back. Arizona you are a credit to the USA. After visiting California you have restored my faith in coming to the US on holiday. Thank You
Wonderful. My little guy was cranky and they gave him a train sticker. Beautiful inside the building with plenty of info and walking tours.
Very nice centre. The staff were very helpful. Lots to look at too
A beautiful location & they had all of the information we needed about the area
Really Really cool visitors center! I came here to get a crushed penny and upon looking around realized it was an active train station as well. Bought some awesome stickers and just looked around at all the cool stuff. Flagstaff is a super cool city and the welcome center was an awesome addition to our Grand Canyon trip.
This was an amazing experience-old train statiom still functioning attached. Staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful-engaging and didnt make u feel like they needes to quickly move on to next customer
A nice gift shop with friendly people. Plus a good place to relax and watch some trains.
..Very friendly. Definitely a tourist attraction. Lots of souvenirs and postcards. All sorts of different items for sale. Nice to see the old train station
Friendly staff, lots of helpful information, wide selection of souvenirs and my toddler loved the miniature train going around inside the building. Definitely a good place to start if it is your first time at Flagstaff.
Fun place to stop when visiting Flagstaff. They have a big Route 66 logo in het parking lot. The women in the visiting center en giftshop were very helpfull.
Friendly and very helpful staff. Nice and clean store.
Clean, well-organized center that offers a lot of great advice and suggestions. Any tourist going through Flagstaff should stop here ) which should be hard as the building is well placed). The friendly workers are an added bonus!
Lots of printed info. Helpful staff. Real trains at a living old Depot. Very nice.
Really nice assistant. A gift shop where prices are correct and peaple really helpful. Must stop there before going anywhere.
For a visitor center in Flagstaff you would expect a friendly welcome. We didnt even get a acknowledgement from all 3 workers. The blonde lady was to involve telling her personal life stories to her coworker. Very sad customer service
Very lovely indeed. Memorabilia and tourist brochures. A must see if you are in Flag for the first time.
Great place to stop and learn about Route 66 and what is going on in Northern Arizona too.
Nothing interesting... Good starting point
I really like going up to Flagstaff it is a nice cool place to go when it is too hot down in Phoenix or Prescott there restaurants and shops and parks
Very helpful, nice gift shop, fun for kids who like seeing trains as its very busy with trains passing by. Felt a bit cramped though, could use less stuff and/or more floor space
I am doing a Flat Stanley project for my nephew. One of the ladies inside helped me hold Flat Stanley while I took a picture. My nephew loved this picture the most from Flat Stanleys adventures!
Very helpful team
Wonderful History on Rte 66. Cool gifts and information for a visitor. Folks that work at the Center know everything about the area. Pro Tip-Dont ever use the coke machine in Amtrak side- its a local joke that it takes you $2 thank you, no coke today. Like a slot machine
Pretty place. Nice visitor center
Great visitor center with maps and local information. It is sort of confusing to get into the parking lot because of the train tracks and the one-way street, but it is a great place to park and check out whats available in the area.
We stopped here and purchased our pass for the grand canyon national park. Very nice gift shop and was convenient for the drive up to the park.
Really helpful. Provided a great brochure for a walking tour of the historic district
Great location for visitors center. Trains go past this place so fast you can feel the wind from cars as they go by. It is an amazing thing to watch, not only for adults but the looks on childrens faces are a delight .This center is the go to if your looking for information and maps of Flagstaff. The gift shop is stuffed with treasures to remember Route 66 and Flagstaff and surrounding area. We enjoyed the center so much and recieved more info on places to see and visit during our stay.
This is a must to visit in Flagstaff. You can obtain valuable information about the near touristic attractions. It has a nice gift shop with t-shirts, cups, pins and a variety of mementos. The people is really helpful.
Hard to get into, but everyone is helpful and friendly
Great staff, great info and fun little gift shop... definitely check it out if youre not sure what to do with your day
Inside the old train depot! Awesome! Great people!
The staff was very knowledgeable about the local area as well as the neighbouring towns.
Flagstaff, AZ - on a very extensive road trip I stopped by in 2017 to obtain more knowledge about this place. This was my third visit to Flagstaff but it was the first time I was here as a solo-traveling grown-up. The lady in this center helped me immediately and gave additional information about the culture, people and local hot spots. Funny enough, both the lady and I used to live in London (UK) at some point in our lives. This center looks more like a professionally modeled home office rather than a simple visitors center. It has a lot of character. The area this building is in has interesting aspects like the train station, tourists, and very cool restaurants.I recommend this place for tourists, families and people who are not very familiar with Flagstaff, AZ.
Super friendly, great information, and low priced souvenirs
Neat place to let the kids watch the trains.
We enjoyed walking through the gift shop my son turn the train on, very exciting.
Reps were very friendly and helpful.
The staff here were very informative and helpful.
Must visit tourist info center. Great information place, with lots of free brochures for all sorts of places and activities around Flagstaff. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Small gift shop there, too. You can buy and send post cards right from here. Good place to park and walk around down town Flagstaff.
Loved the old building, next to the train tracks, (trains come by every 10-15 minutes. The Amtrak station is also in the same building. They were very helpful and knowledgeable.
Super knowledgeable staff, great array to things about the area. A must stop when you visit Flagstaff.
Cool place to see some cool buys, and get info for the area.
Very interesting and the people who work there have awesome customer service!
Brilliant friendly place,very interesting
Friendly staff and a good place.
Very helpful. Provided downtown map.
Historically significant train station along the old Route 66 in Flagstaff
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the different things to do and see.
Need information about Flagstaff? Stop by here and get maps, souvenirs, and great advice for getting around. The souvenirs range from local magnets and knick-knacks to Grandd Canyon shirts, post cards, magnets and doodads. You will save money if you buy the souvenirs here instead of the Grand Canyon. Theres a restroom on site too; and outside you can catch shuttles that can drive you all the way to Phoenix.
