3.5sI enjoyed the show for the most part. The inside is pretty small but not too small. The actors and actresses are very good with all the scenes and quick between the transitions. One guy reminded me of an acot from sunny in Philadelphia. There was one scene where they depicted a family where they lost their father and she lost her husband...definitely a mood changer especially since my wife just lost her dad a few years ago. Everything from there on out lost its comedy since thats all she could think about until the end. Pretty poor choice of acts of you ask me. Also there is too much religion in the acts. Mostly funny but the whole Jesus walking on water was a turn off. Id recommend if your not too sensitive about religion or if you just had a family member pass.
Great show. Its for grown ups and not family friendly, but it was creative and funny. The show in question was an improvised reality show. The performers made a commitment to their characters, listened well and found the game in the game. The waitstaff was solid and beer selection solid. They can accommodate wheelchair patrons, but it would help them to know.
We have made this a regular date, weve been about every other weekend since discovering them!We go for the All Star Showdown. The performers are always fantastic... Definitely recommend checking them out!
Take a date here so they know youre classy. Short walk from most Downtown Ferndale restaurants.
Customer service was great, fast, friendly, decent prices for drinks and the show, merchandise was a good price, a few options to choose from, convenient and beautiful location, tons to do around the area before the show, show was a decent amount of time and the atmosphere was great as well! Super fun, definitely must see.
Great atmosphere! The show was hilarious, the drinks were great, service was awesome (especially the bartender!), the whole experience was lovely. I went to see I Aint No Joke and had such a great time that I was very disappointed when it ended. The entire show was nonstop laughter and the comedy was not only entertaining, but clever. I cant wait to go back to this place!
Great comedy, cheap tickets, and very reasonable drink prices - overall a great time! Went with a group and had a blast. Comics kept politics out of it and I felt like I was watching some solid originality on stage.
Overall- great show and will go again in the future. Smaller seating area so you can see the stage well from any spot. Early arrival will allow you to more or less pick your seat (community seating). Timely table service throughout the show with reasonable drink prices. Snacks are available (pretzels, etc).
This theater is great for the city of Ferndale! Improv is healthy to watch whether you’re with friends or alone! We often tell our friends “it’s better than sitting at home watching TV” when they ask if we have fun here. It’s a good time to interact and laugh with truly talented, likeminded individuals.
Disappointment is an understatement. My guest and I left the show early, as there were absolutely no laughs to be had. I was really embarrassed, as we had planned this ‘fun’ night out a while in advance and it was my idea to come. This is the kind of show I would have found mildly humorous, if I was a 9 year old child. We adore comedy in all forms and have participated in improv groups ourselves, but this was just awful.
I love this club so much. Always laugh so hard i cry. Everyone is very nice and welcoming
Ah, I wont lie, this place wasnt as funny as I was hoping. Still had a nice time. There was drink service but it took a very very long time for us to get our overpriced white claws ($14.50 for 2? oof) Not to the caliber of something like Whose Line is it Anyway, which I love. I suppose they upcharged $5 for Valentines Day and it would normally be $20 a ticket, but $50 bucks for the date night did seem a bit overcharging for the quality. We saw All Star Showdown Valentines Day version. I felt like they could have done a lot more or played up a bit more raunchy comedy on that night in particular. The show was not PG either, it was just not very funny, and I feel like the audience was disappointed that they kept dropping the ball to sneak in some adult jokes.
GO is always a great time. The performers are stellar, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the bar is top notch.
Ticket prices arent very high for the performance the cast delivers. I have been there for a couple different events, as they have different specials that occur on different nights of the week, and was surprised that it was as funny as it turned out to be every time. Not just some amateurs pretending everyone is laughing with them, a legit good time. Also, alcohol is available so... enjoy that too.
Took my girlfriend on a date here and had a good time. You could tell the people on stage were having a lot of fun, and the MC was hilarious. They did a fun bit that got the lighting and sound guy involved, which I thought was hilarious.Drinks were good, but tickets were a little too pricey for the talent we saw I think.
Enjoyed the performances. Great night out with some laughter. Good for the soul
Great show on a Thursday night. They offer a variety of shows, a bar with great drinks, fun atmosphere. Id recommend for a fun night out with friends.
I will be back for sure!!! Had such a fun time, everyone did great even the host! Laughed the entire time, nice little venue with great staff.
Cool place, but for being in Ferndale, youd think theyd have a gender-neutral restroom. Kinda astounding that they dont have that. Its 2019 and its Ferndale! Next time, Ill make sure to pee before I leave the house.
The staff is friendly and funny. An all around fun atmosphere. Definitely giving them a return visit.
Great local theater, good prices and good drinks and a lot of legitimately funny shows. Friday and Saturday night All-Star Showdowns are great date nights or group activities. They also teach classes and run corporate events
Lots of great improv shows. They arent all winnners, but great place for a date, birthday party, or just get together. These guys put a lot of work into their craft, and you never leave feeling disappointed
Great place to go for a good time! Walking distance from a number of good restaurants too.
Such a fun improv theater! Bartender was awesome & so was the rest of the staff. The improv groups were all enjoyable!
Loved the all female cast this time. It was our fourth time going. Everytime we are in Detroit, we always make sure we stop in to see a show. Just wish they would change up the one skit when people come up on to stage, maybe do the sound effects skit instead.
Fun performances, need better drinks and food options. Performance wise it was a nice evening. Lot of laughter
Great Entertainment..Big Bang For The Buck.
We went there for an improv show. The content that night was OK but the experience was enjoyable. Very friendly staff with inside bar (that cater). PS the drink was yummy. Well return.
Very funny show.. Definitely worth the price of admission
My cheeks hurt. Like really hurt. Such a unique and fun experience!
Great show! Very funny, keeps you laughing the whole time! The show was fill but we waited around and we were able to get in. I would recommend buying tickets before going so this doesnt happen to you. I would go again for sure.
We went here after dinner for the 10pm show for my friends birthday. It was my first time going and I really had a great time. The improv show was fantastic. The host was funny and so were the challenges. I laughed a lot and I would definitely go back. The pricing was really reasonable and the place is small enough so you have a great seat regardless of where you are. It was fun to fill out the slips on the table that provided the material for the improv acts. It was a fun time and I recommend it to anyone for something different to do.
Always a fun time, its understandable that the quality does very with the performers but its engaging enough that there is always a good time to be had. Support your local artists and performers, they could be your next favorite star.
I approached them for a donation to my daughters’ school’s Silent Auction. It’s never easy asking for money-especially knowing these busy establishments get requests every day-but they were accomodating, responsive, thoughtful, and GENEROUS! I will definitely be back & will tell everyone I know to patronize this excellent spot!Thank you for supporting the kids in your community!
Loved the experience. I got a buy one get ticket free for going on stage so Im definitely going back there again. Id say its a great date idea too. Youll enjoy every bit of it
Fun place with enjoyable comedy and delicious unique drinks. Felt like all the staff were super welcoming.
Boring! The man playing the part of night show talk host read off the prompter, jokes werent funny, at all. The.only good part was the real person running for mayor. His real-life story was interesting.
Cute little theater. Tickets sold out really fast online, so plan ahead. We saw the All Star Showdown, which was hilarious! If you go for the 10:00 show, there is a free show right after.
Small, intimate and fun! Had a good time
The wait staff is the best youve ever seen. Im trying to prove a point.
Always a good time. Everyone who works there is fantastic and nice. Then the different groups who perform are always interesting. Makes for a great date night.
Some shows are better than others. Even with wide latitude that needs to be given to improv, its pretty clear the schtick of ABC Family is a premise thats already stretched to its breaking point by the runtime. I dont know if even the most talented improv performers could make it work, and the cast I saw had one standout that I would consider talented rather than just experienced. On the other hand, All-Star Showdown was much more geared toward improv, being a series of sketches rather than a meandering, single narrative. The talent pool was similarly shallow, but the effects of the less entertaining cast members were lessened somewhat by not having them in long, pointless, and jokeless scenes. The shows were not bad overall, but they must be appreciated for being improv: awkwardness punctuated by jokes, which are then dragged out to the point of being awkward again.
I had a good time. And didnt stop laughing all night. The only problem I had was my drink. They DID NOT put the proper ingredients in it I was sadly disappointed!!(Very Funny People tho!!)
First time here! So much fun! Great date night idea :) Im a bit sad they didnt use my Deez Nutz idea. Ill have to go back and try again!
This place never fails to disappoint. Ive been here about 6 times now with different people and groups and it has been a great - and different- experience every time. Highly recommend.
A lot of fun. Great drinks and really funny people. They really involve the crowd too. Always a blast whenever I go.
A very enthusiastic competition between groups during the all star improv day was an excellent way to spend my birthday. Enjoyed the crowd participation aspect. This was my first visit and Ill definitely return for future events!
First time here, wont be the last. Very funny and energetic. Had a great time. The night we went had a whose line is it anyways type theme and was right on point. The actors were great and the host and emcee were great as well. You can tell they really enjoy what they do and theyre good at it. Went for a date night and wasnt disappointed. Will try to get a group to go next time.
The shows are always great! My favorites are pandemonium and all star show down.lets just say is awesome too! The staff is great!
First time being there I LOVE the interaction with the audience. It was something different and FUN
Improv shows can be hit or miss but this place rarely misses. There are a variety of shows and troupes to see so theres always something going on. Theater is small but feels intimate. The improvisers often hangout in the lobby and are very approachable. This place is s great comedy staple for Detroit.
I went to the 10p show on Friday night and it was great. Funny and creative ensemble! Short form Improv really relies on audience participation via topic suggestions and this audience didnt disappoint that night! I loved that they had each improviser play for an audience member who then got a set of free tickets to a future show!
Funny, friendly place. Gotta love comedy!
Great time. Anyone who wants to have a good time and laugh should go.
Lots of fun and good laughs really slow service
Awesome people good vibes and oh yes did I mention... hilarious
So funny and they make you feel at home. Great service, kept the drinks coming when they got low. Won bygo last visit. Deff going again
Always enjoy my time there
Being a big fan Whose Line Is It Anyway, its nice to know that theres a local show thats just as funny. Based on the reviews and rewards, Ive been looking forward to attending a show. I decided to take my parents here, for my moms birthday, and the cast did not disappoint. The All-Star Showdown, is a must see, and we will most certainly be back.
Super fun time, my jaw hurt I laughed so darn much. If you enjoy improv see a show here.
First time here and it was SO much fun. The comedians were awesome and the way they interact with the crowd was great.
Absolutely fun ... just bad drinks
Top notch comedy, great intimate venue, wonderful service and interesting drinks (somebody loves ginger beer as much as I do). Amazing to see local talent be so successful. At times the sound system was very painfully loud, but every other aspect of this place was awesome.
Performances there are always great and funny. I always have a good time when we go.
Nice intimate room, but the waitress needs to work on her skills.
Small intimiate comedy club feachering local comedians. Lots of laughs. Drinks and light snacks served. They also offer improve and stand up comedy classes.
A friend ask me to come out and do improv. I really enjoy my first time. I thought I would be nervous but the set up is perfect. I recommend that you attend even if you dont go on stage. Plenty of good laughs and good people oh did I mention the bar!
Great atmosphere and funny skits! Small intimate venue is nice
Nice setting, great service from the bar.
Had fun celebrating my daughters birthday this past weekend. Witty, funny, friendly cast and audience. Really laid back atmosphere.
Go Comedy is a great little venue. Ive been here twice for improv shows with friends and it has been a blast both times. Getting tickets is always a breeze, and easy to do on your phone or in person at the theater.
First time coming here. I was selected as a person that one of the improv peeps were playing for and we won!! Super fun. Great service! Will definitely come again!!!
The service was spot on!! Good shows. Great beer selection. Friendly wait staff. What else could one ask for? I give them the give star rating.
The show was bad. I kept hoping it would get better over time but it just worse. It wasnt worth the $15 a ticket. One of the actors was decent / good but the rest just were not funny. They either need to charge less or get better Improv actors. The drinks were very weak and you could not taste any alcohol not to mention theyre expensive.
Loved it.. lots of fun.. Looking forward to my next visit.
It was a good laugh, in a small room. Well worth the price of admission.
This place was so funny! Definitely worth the visit. Be funny when you fill out your card thing right before the show so during the show there are epic suggestions the cast will work with! It will make for good hilarity!
Found this little gem on Yelp while visiting family and friends in Detroit. This place was great, it was all laughs from the moment we walked in to when we walked out. There was never a dull moment. Drinks all night, the atmosphere was great, everyone was great. If youre in the area please check them out, you will not be disappointed!
Just not funny. You could definitely see the actors passion and heart but I went with several people and all same thought-just not entertaining.
So much fun and laughs that my gut hurt. Squished seating, which almost forces one to talk to their neighbor- kinda part of the fun. Super friendly staff. Going back for sure.
Ive been here about two dozen times and Ive laughed my butt off about two dozen times. I keep waiting for a dud but it hasnt happened. The troupes are consistently hilarious and Ive never left this place with an ounce of regret. Every friend/date/girlfriend/ex-girlfriend/friends wife/booty call that I have brought along has also agreed that its some of the best bang for your buck entertainment wise in all of SE Michigan.
I picked Go Comedy! for a blind date I was on thinking it would be a great way to break the ice. It was absolutely fantastic! Great drinks I loved the atmosphere and the comedy team is funny as hell! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Ill be back again with or without a date.
Our church does fundraisers with this place. They’re cool!
Funny show done in the style of whos line is it anyway. the experience is complimented by attentive, but not pushy staff, onsite parking--near Woodward on nine mile-- and good viewing angles. The overall value was there, including some interesting drink suggestions. I would recommend for anyone who is in need of some good laughs and has a couple of hours.
Show was great. There were six comedians and a host and they were all entertaining. The bar has a good selection for its smaller size. The bathrooms were clean. I would recommend.
I contacted the club about doing a marriage proposal to my girlfriend here. These guys/gals hit it out of the park!!! Everyone was super friendly and did everything they could to make our day special. All three shows hilariously funny and very entertaining. Thank you all and we will be back. Jamie and Jenn
Great venue. I didnt really enjoy the particular act I saw, but the quality of the performers is good. They also have great drinks! Its definitely worth a visit.
First time going to an improv show and loved it. They were hilarious!!! Way better then I thought it was going to be.
Save your money and go see a movie instead. The improv was terrible. I feel like the actors were bored themselves. Bad show, not funny at all. My grandma could have done a better job, and shes dead. Drinks were weak, expensive, and 20% minimum gratuity required. The waitress kept interrupting the show, not that it mattered since the show was garbage. And yet....when we spilled a drink, and later on the table next to us spilled a drink there was no one to be found the rest of the night. I thought this would be good considering all of the positive reviews. I thought we would be transformed into the magical kingdom that is improv....but instead we found the place where comedy comes to die.
Great local entertainment. We have gone a couple of times and really enjoyed it.
Great place! Absolutely hilarious!!
Good comedy, good beer, good people. I had a great night and will definitely be back!
I always laugh my butt off every time I come here! This is definitely a favorite place of mine! They do such a good job!
Great cozy venue! Great location!
I was nervous walking in because I had never been to a comedy club before, but have always wanted to. I am so glad I went. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. The skits were funny ((some more than others)). They handed out these pieces of paper that had a few questions on it, and the actors referred to them while they acted on stage. They also picked 6 people or so out of the audience to play for to win prizes. It was really fun I laughed a lot. I mean, who doesnt like to laugh....Am I right? Lol. Lastly, they offered a free show at the end for people to stay for after the first show that everyone paid to see. So who doesnt like free stuff? Free stuff, laughing, humor = count me in! Lol.Oh yeah, and its a cozy//relaxed setting.I will recommend this place and I will also be back.
