I signed my daughter up for swim lessons back in August and paid $82 for 8 sessions. The swim lessons started in September and after the first lesson, me and my daughter tested positive for COVID so Audra Williams told me they were canceling the 8 sessions and told me that she would call me about rescheduling. I never received a call back and called in November (since the class was suppose to go thru the end of October) and was told there was no open spots and there were no classes available in December so I put in a request for a refund for the sessions. I have called every day this week trying to get ahold of Audra about my refund and she has not emailed or called me back and every time I call they tell me they are going to email her and they cant do anything else. Every time I call she has either just left the office or at a different location or in swim lessons, and so Ill call back and Ive just missed her. Its ridiculous.

With what little I interacted with the staff they seemed nice, and the classes are great, but the showers have next to now water pressure making it newly impossible to shower off after using the pool. And the lights in the sauna and steam room didnt work

SMALLEST YMCA I HAVE EVER BEEN TO IN MY LIFE . I sighned up so I could go play basket ball . The gym was reserved almost the whole time I was there for elementary school kids so I couldn’t play basket at all maybe this Y SHOULD BE RESERVED FOR THE KIDS BECAUSE IT VERY SMALL . THEY HAVE ONE ROOM TO WORK OUT IN THATS IT ALL MACHINES ARE CRAMMED INTO ONE ROOM . NOT GOING BACK TO THIS ONE EVER .

If I could give this YMCA negative stars I would! This branch is one of the worst managed and unethical organizations I have ever worked with! We became members to take advantage of their advertised swim lessons, but at every turn received misinformation, poor communication and horrible customer service, all while being charged monthly for a service they never provided - turns out we were the ones being taken advantage of! After waiting seven months we NEVER actually received what we paid for!!! They had absolutely no problem charging a military family a full membership fee while continuing to promise a service they were never equip to offer. Now they refuse to refund our money, while claiming to be a Christian faith based organization. Were now pursuing legal actions. Make sure you dont get taken advantage of by this highly unethical branch!!!

This place is the worst!I love putting my oldest daughter into YMCA sports and activities as she’s been at a few different YMCAs and all have been amazing.. This facility however has been horrible. Canceled my child’s membership and will try a different facility and in courage others to do the same.Wish I could give zero stars.

As an out of town user of the Sandhills Y., my experience at the Sandhills YMCA has been great! The staff has gone out of their way to make my out of town experience a good one. Equipment and Classes are lagging behind other Ys. But, it is customer service that puts an organization over the top. My experience with the staff has been great! Cleve Brace YMCA Charlotte.

I enjoy the staff, they are family friendly were versed in customer service and just a joy to be around. The sauna (hot &a cold) are awesome, the conversations between gentlemen reminds me of my days in the Corps and the pool is the reason for me remaining. The gym and ball court are an added pleasure. Semper Fidelis YMCA!

The Fort Bragg Rd, North Branch Ramsey, and newest Cameron location have all been bad experiences. I love the mission and values of the YMCA and it’s so sad and frustrating that the Sandhill branches are all struggling so badly. The Fort Bragg location needs major capital investment and renovations. All three branches need major feedback/training from the national level on customer service, facilities management, and just being welcoming and positive.I’m also especially concerned and disappointed with the aquatics programs, lack of consistency, and just overall disorganization and unprofessionalism. The staff all convey a sense of confusion, frantic/reactionary responses full of excuses. No one knows what’s going on and no one seems to understand how to follow up or find information. We lived here for 3 years and kept and open mind and repeatedly tried to get connected or find the positives and were let down repeatedly. It’s truly a shame.

The Blonde or Red hair Lifeguard made me feel so uncomfortable,he actually gets out of the lifeguard chair and stands over us the entire time we were there.I asked hi. Why are standing over me my son and my friend and her son and he gave me BS that he is supposed to do that. Then he Id all in the kids conversation when they challenged each other to hold their breathe, and the so called lifeguard said you cant do that. The bottom line is that he not friendly and quite rude!

Every time I bring my son here to swim its yet another rule. They arent allowed to bring pool toys. They arent allowed to play with the pool noodles. They arent allowed to wear the goggles that cover your nose. Your children arent allowrd to be in the deep end, despite them wearing life jackets and the parent being in the pool in the deep end with them. Then during open swim time we have to share the extremely limited shallow end with private swim lesson students. And the cherry on this sundae is we get here for the hour long free swim time and theyre having lifeguard practice/lessons so theyve made the already small shallow area for the kids even smaller by opening up two of the lap lanes for this practice/lessons and the students who arent busy in the water are loitering around the only seating area taking up all the space. Also, the seating area is at the complete opposite side of the shallow end and we are not allowed to bring anything to sit in so we can keep an eye on our kids.According to my sister the YMCA in Hope Mills has a pool that is only for lifeguard lessons and whatnot. Why are we paying a monthly fee to come to a pool where there is so much junk we cant have or do and then we have to deal with limited space when lifeguard lessons can be done elsewhere?Thing is that this isnt even worth the fact my sister and I dont even have to pay, our uncle is nice enough to pay for our memberships here, and while we loved that we could come here for the pool it just isnt worth the issues we deal with. We will be letting our uncle know he can withdraw the memberships.

I moved here a year ago and always loved going to the YMCA in other states. Horrible Customer service here. They go through numerous front desk people. Ector is the only one that treats people with respect. Also I only use the gym for basketball purposes but yet they hardly have availability for the gym. They bring after school in and dont properly watch them as Ive seen numerous kids wonder into the weight room and Ive seen kids run against the tarp separating the weights and one was even hurt. The way they talk to the customers is very disheartening. One this is a supposed to be a Christian based organization but yet I hardly see it they only want to cater to certain individuals. This organization is about money and not really good at problem solving. They take your money but only want you to use the facilities when they want you to. Ive seen the gym being opened two hours after it was supposed to. Ive also seen the gym close before its supposed to. Ive seen the manager Rick walk through and not speak to people about concerns etc and act like nobody was there.

Purchasing a membership here is a total waste!!! I am unhappy with the facilities, the rules, the swim hours, the attitudes of many employees. The biggest disappointment was with the swim lessons. Prior to them starting, I asked the front desk to make sure everything was fine for the kids to start. Day one there was no teacher. Tami Carpenter subbed an hour or so after the class was supposed to start. She did a great job with my sons. She said she would have to find another class for them to join. She did not call me. My daughters teacher called and said he would teach the class, but it would have to be 30 minutes before at 8:30, which I feel was too early. My sons did not like the second teacher and wouldnt really do anything for him and the teacher did not know how to get the boys more comfortable with the water. After the third day both of my sons did not want to go back. I called to ask for another teacher that would be more knowledgeable about working with small children. They were not willing to work with me and even said I would have to pay more money on top of the membership and lesson fees! I stopped by Tamis office while at the Y to discuss my situation. She had a bit of an attitude. She had a co-worker in the office with her that had an even worse attitude. Totally disregarded my unhappiness with the situation. Tami asked me to bear one more day of Nate teaching and then the regular teacher would be better since she was sick. The following week the regular teacher was back, but didnt want to teach my sons until I kind of begged. She said she had been on her honeymoon. Therefore, Tami and her staff had to of known well in advance there was no teacher for this class! My sons loved the new teacher, but she failed to show the last day leaving them to be taught again by an unacceptable and inexperienced teacher. Im very unhappy and will not recommend anyone to get swim lessons for their kids here!!!

The Management handling the lifeguards on Fort Bragg are worthless. They make decisions that cause the lifeguards to operate under conditions that are unacceptable. Many of the guards are spending over 10 hours out in the heat without proper breaks, water, or access to life saving (911 phones & AED equipment) devices required to do their jobs. Lack of leadership and mentorship of our young teens, pitiful!

The worst thing Ive seen is basketball teams for kids and the ymca manager puts her children in the best team between her and the coach and they make themselves the best team in the tournament I think its not fair since there are children who do not have the same ability of others and the manager in charge accepts it since their children are part of that great team, not letting the kids improve their weaknesses the worst place to put their children in sport and believe me that Im gone do anything until I can speak with someone who was in charge of her....and even arguing with my wife because my wife defended my son until that point came in garbage of people

I would give 0 stars if I could. Im in the process of attempting to receive a refund for the parent child swim class for the month of May. The absolute worst swim program I have ever seen and I worked for a ymca for 3 years teaching swim. Our first day- the instructor was training a new teacher who was very young and had no experience (not her fault) she was trained for about 5 minutes before the main teacher left her to handle the class on her own while the previous teacher went to talk to employees. Each class after was taught by the new girl who obviously had no training or knowledge and could not handle the class, she basically did nothing and threw toys for us to just go around in circles and grab with our babies (she was nice though) To really make it worse our last class- no one showed up to teach. And on top of that, not a single employee in the pool, not another instructor teaching, not a life guard, not a front desk employee- NO ONE came to explain to us why there was no teacher. After 20 minutes a mom from class went up front and instead of the front desk woman coming to speak to us (which is who the mom went to talk to but I guess she could have cared less what was going on) another swim instructor ( who had said nothing while we just sat in a pool waiting) came and said sorry she called out and her replacement didnt show up, feel free to use the pool for the remaining class and shell call tomorrow for a make up . That make up call never came of course. Ill update once I finally get through to management to get my refund and explain to them what an absolute failure their swim department is- apparently the aquatics director is out for two week so Im being sent to the management director to complain. Either way- DO NOT waste your money, if your military do swim lessons on post and if your not, find another public swim group. This was the most disappointing swim program and biggest waste of time and $75 dollars.

I have been trying to set up swim lessons over spring break for over two weeks. They keep giving me the run around. First of all, you have to go in to fill out one piece of paper to register for lessons but then they cant sign you up right then. Its basically a wasted trip to fill out your childs name on a piece of paper. They promised I would get a call within 24 hours. Well its been a week. Ive called multiple times. I had to leave a message multiple times and never got a call back. The two times someone answered they said oh the instructor will call you back in an hour. Didnt happen. Today, after over a week of this, I spoke to Ector on the phone and he was extremely rude. When again he said the instructor will have to call you back, I asked if that was actually doing to happen because Ive been told that several times. He got an attitude with me about how he had already apologized about the poor service and he was just about to ask me for my name and phone number to call me back. Such poor customer service. I was going to sign up for a membership but now I wont even bother. Im going to take my business somewhere else, somewhere where a phone call will be returned and I dont get attitude from piss poor employees.

I cant wait to leave this God forsaken town, Ive had more bad then good experiences here when it comes to the treatment, customer service at many place this being one of them. I had my son enrolled at the Hope Mills branch prek prep and I have to say those ladies there are rude nasty and miserable. They even had the nerve to bill me for 3 months after I took my son out of the prek prep program they continued to draft my husbands account for months.i had to take it to corporate to get it resolved. You can tell they cater to one skin tone and talk about you when you leave. The Fayetteville branch is just as bad no customer service skills at all. Im from New York where they say people are rude which is a complete lie the people in New York are REAL!! And will say how they feel to your face. These ladies should be ashamed of themselves with how they treat and talk to some of their customers. But how they say when you dont know better you cant do better.

This is my first year sending my daughter to summer camp here. Trust me I will not be sending her here ever again. The price is ridiculous, the field trips are extra and they dont even feed the kids. The kids stay in the gym all day. My daughter came home wearing a different pair of shorts. When I asked her what happened she said someone stole her shorts. I also found out that some kids got kicked out for stealing other kids lunches. I would send fruit for all the kids to eat and would find out that the counselors would eat it. I have also had problems when I request something, such as I asked for my daughter to be able to take a bag with her when going to the pool. She was allowed to take it for a couple of weeks then told me the boss said she couldnt take it anymore. I am so frustrated and irritated with the YMCA that I will never go back there for any reason.

I Love YMCAs. Mine in TN is amazing. Tried to go here as I was passing through town for about 8 hours. Staff did not want to even let me in the door even though I provided my membership card. They wanted a drivers license even though my membership card has my picture on it. Who would have thought that you needed a drivers license to enter a gym. You dont need one to enter the voting booths!

I have been a member here for the past 5-6 months. It is a decent facility, though quite dated. They do have a steam room and sauna, which are tough to find at some facilities. It is very close to where I work which makes it convenient. My biggest complaint would be that when things break, they take quite a while to get them repaired.

I dont understand why the hours are so limited, ten years ago I would have understood. However if this establishment doesnt update and fix this issue I very well see them going out of business, especially with planet fitness and their price comparison. Speaking of prices the y charges way too much, especially for anything extra plus they need to havea system to where if youre a member out of town it will pull you up which they fail to do on epic levels to the point where sometimes I have been told Im not allowed to work out. Its 2016 & the 21st century they need to update and get with the system and start caring or say goodbye to an income within 5 to 10 years max.

Customer service is beyond terrible. The lady/receptionist at the front is extremely rude she appears to not like her job at all,so much so to the point that she ignored us when we came in yesterday asking about swimming lessons for our kid. They are terribly organized here nobody informed us on where to meet our child’s teacher for swimming lessons, so the first day was a bit of a disaster on top of the fact that we was cheated out of time because the class started 5 minutes later than it should have. I would not recommend this place to anyone. In addition, no one upfront cared to give us a tour instead they had a kid to do it, whom obviously couldn’t answer our questions. The swimming teacher my child was assigned to seemed to be unaware of how to properly teach a kid that has no experience in water. This place was extremely chaotic with people all over the place, their a/c obviously doesn’t work, it smells like an old cafeteria, there’s barely only 2 bathroom stalls, and it’s so dirty and tacky here. Staff members were being hollered at upon entrance, this place is ghetto.
