Had a fun time at the Evansville museum, the exhibits have a lot of information on the history of Evansville. You can test out experiments in the science section, walk through the past in a street shop set up, and view paintings in the art exhibit. The paintings spanned different styles and centuries. Across the way is a small museum on transportation with a few train cars you can walk through. Would definitely recommend for a quick afternoon trip.
Variety of shows to enjoy. Planetarium was very impressive. Presenter was interesting & informative.
A very nice regional museum. Well worth the visit!
This museum is fairly simple but its fantastic. If you go, you have to grab the astronomy show in the theater.
Very well put together museum. The planetarium is top notch. Art work is frequently rotated.
Cool museum but not somewhere my kids enjoyed. Id wait until kids are old enough to understand art because its literally 95% of this museum.
Had a good time
Since it was free Friday I probably shouldnt complain. I would not want to pay there admission fee as they have little to offer. The science area was non existent. There were some fantastic Biblical and 16th century paintings.
I stopped by on a weekday afternoon and it wasnt busy at all, although they did have a private event going on in one area of the museum. My favorite section had to be the science area which has so many interactive exhibits packed into one room! And they all worked (Ive been to some larger museums in big cities where this wasnt the case)! I liked how they laid out the history of the area.
Great museum for all ages. State of the art planetarium
The dome theater with the surround sound was awesome. Wasnt expecting to see such a high tech theater in a smaller town like Evansville. Its also a planetarium must check out.
Love this place! A collection of thoughtful exhibits, activities, art and so much more on a beautiful riverside campus featuring the nearby Railroad museum space.
I highly recommend Evansville Museum of Arts and Sciences. I have been going for most of my life and have watched it grow and develop. Its a wonderful place to take your children or just a stroll through to see the current exhibitions. And I believe they have free nights on the first Friday of the month.

Very unique museum, definitely will visit again! The local Evansville part is quite impressive, great info on the town and its founding. New exhibits that were enjoyable, many interactive parts for young children. The art exhibits are exceptional, mostly from regional artists.
Was stuck in Evansville for a few days. Took my 11 year old here for the day. Pleasently surprised, considering the city. Able to keep her entertained for most of the day. The staff was friendly. No food there so plan that in advance.
My kids loved the part with the old train cars and the interactive educational area downstairs. There was a security guard on the second story who was very rude to my sons friend (who is Haitian). He seemed to be able to speak politely to my son and I (who are Caucasian). I hope the museum expects better of their employees. Every other employee that I met was polite and helpful.
An excellent museum! My wife and I were in town from Louisville and enjoyed spending about 3 hours in this museum. Everything from Science to Arts, Crafts and a small model town inside. We werent expecting the museum to be as nice and well done as it was. I particularly enjoyed reading about Evansvilles contribution to World War II through manufacturing.
Great museum. They are open on Tuesdays now thru the Summer.
I have always been impressed with the quality of our museum. I want to publicly thank Tom Lonnberg, Curator of History, for his presentation of the history of Evansville hotels. He entertained, informed and kept the attention of a diverse group of individuals ranging in age from 23 to 81. A job well done and greatly appreciated.
I went here to get the family membership for $50. This is a great deal since we have 5 children. We bought the membership to join the ASTC (association of science and technology centers) since we were going to NY it got us into most of the museums there free or at a reduced rate. While we were there buying our membership my 2 sons 9 and 7 wanted to look at some of the exhibits. I couldnt drag them away from all the cool things there. The theater is great but makes me dizzy. Kids love it though.
Grew up with the museum, and got see the train coming down south lain DRIVE, tile by by tile. My Dad valinterd on the train for quite some time on the train! I salute Dad to day FOR HISTORY OF BRAVERY HE SHOWED !
The $12 fee seemed excessive for the number of broken displays. The planetary movie was amusing but the inclusion of Pluto as a planet made me wonder how old it was. The art exhibits were nice, better than the science part.
Loved it
Really enjoyed the exhibits, the interactive science stations and some wonderful historical and art pieces!
The Evansville Museum is antiquated and overpriced. The museums structural renovations do not justify the hefty admission cost; the exhibits are sparse and stagnant. My daughter wept from disappointment.
There are displays that are at least 40 years old that have been the same since I was a child. This place is almost as depressing as the zoo. The price of admission for what you get is absurd .
Nice modern museum. Planetarium was amazing!
We’re lucky to have a quality museum like this. Sure, it’s not the biggest, but for Evansville, it does well for itself. Exhibits, displays, and planetarium are worth the trip.
Very clean and nice museum! The planetarium is very cool!
Thoroughly enjoyed the Immersive Theater experience, Rock on Demand. Would love to see an EDM experience presented in the future. Was disappointed to see Evansville people did not come out on a Saturday night to experience the show. Only about 15 people showed up at the showing I attended.I would also like to comment on something that needs some attention on the Museum grounds... very disappointed in the garden in front of the museum. For such a nice building, the front of the buildings plant life is in bad need of attention. It was nothing but a weed garden.
Very nice . Has a theater with 3d movies.
First Friday of the month is free and staff is especially nice
REALLY ITS A MUSEUM LOL, U CAN DO BETTER WITH EXPANDING THE BULIDING AND ALSO INCLUDING ALOT MORE ARTIFACTS AND HISTORY, BECAUSE UR MUSEUM IS BORING
Nice people, nice things
Great for kids and rather educational
We loved it!
