Beautiful historical house and you are free to go on your own. Free parking, open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, starting at 11 am. $10.00. Well worth it.
This place has really transformed over the past few years! Everything is so well taken care of and they are still rapidly expanding. Christmas is probably one of the best times of the year to visit the mansion with all the decorations.
Great stop if you are in the Erie area. The buildings are like a time machine to the early 1900s. The craftsmanship of the stone and wood work is great.
Great venue for a classy cozy wedding reception. The christmas decorations were beautifully done
Was a great day to explore the whole mansion and see some Christmas stuff
So beautiful! A must visit place!
Always love to see the old historical houses, fancy trim work. Just fabulous
Best collection of historical archives in Erie, Pennsylvania. Everyone that works there is very helpful and explain any pieces that are on display.
Beautiful and full of history!! Fascinating! Could use a bit more attention from the docents explaining the history of the structure, tiles, appliances, families/occupants, and neighborhood to visitors as it is just gorgeous!A negative: Some staff were quite unwelcoming and rude to respectful children- even kids who clearly frequent museums and behave appropriately. We wouldnt recommend this stop for children under 10 at all. That said, an enriching contributor to Eries history! Spend a lovely rainy afternoon there!
My family and I have been visiting this historic mansion for years at Christmas time - when it is always so beautifully decorated for the holiday - but this is the first time we went during the summer. Two great exhibits - a World War I I one in the carriage house and a Civil War one in the mansion - were featured. We really enjoy this museum.
Great history here. Beautiful mansion.
Self guided walking tour. Many interesting displays. Architecture is amazing as is the detailed painting, carvings and trim.
Fantastically restored late 1800s mansion. Many rooms are open as part of the museum and are representative of the era that they built and lived in. This place hosts many events through the year, but it worth visiting even if there is not a event. There are many local stories and legends based around this house and objects they have acquired.
Pretty cool place with lots of history. Self guided tour allows you to spend as much time as youd like in each room, although wish there was a guide readily available to answer questions
Overall a nice place with a cool atmosphere. Catering food quality needs an upgrade, servers are great.
Beautiful and interesting.
I was very surprised the first time I went to the planetarium in Erie because I drove right past it several times and couldnt figure out where it could be. My GPS and map informed me that the planetarium was there, but I didnt see any huge dome or museum, or even a building that they could fit a dome into! I was very surprised to see that the planetarium that Erie boasts was actually an incredibly dinky little dome that could fit maybe twenty people in the seats. My first visit didnt seem memorable but after going home and reflecting on my experience I realized that I actually really enjoyed the experience that I had at the planetarium. It is a very quaint and different experience from what you would expect at a planetarium, but the staff is very friendly, its right next door to a mansion museum, there is a mini star museum inside and altogether it can be a really fun part of any day trip.
We had our daughters wedding reception at the Watson-Curtze Mansion. This place is a winner. (Keep in mind, as a former wedding photographer, Ive been to every venue.) Besides being able to roam the museum, guests stroll the grounds, dance under the stars, dine under tents (optional). If you want something idyllic, magical, and so different than a banquet hall, consider Watson-Curtze.
The mansion itself is a marvel of craftmanship, the history is amazing and the staff is well-informed, passionate, funny and gracious. My 8 year-old daughter and I had a wonderful time.
CUE Meeting place .Great place to visit hystoricle brings back past beautiafly.
I am a construction worker restoring the stone of this mansion. It is currently closed. I recommend visiting this establishment when it is completed.
Havent been here in a while but i remember it being fun when i was a kid.
Gorgeous and well-maintained, keeping the integrity and original features as they should be - original.
