Erie is genuinely lucky to have an art museum of this size and quality. Ive gone here several times for lectures, exhibits, etc, and its always been pretty rad. I like the fact that they are pretty willing to showcase all different kinds of art. A lot of museums tend to pull back from folk/found/weird art, but EAM embraces it. Last time I went, everything was hung salon style and it was a treat to meander through and take in the sights.
Astonishing place. So many great artworks. Fiancé loved it.
It was a nice diverse collection that took about an hour to see.
Very nice staff, clean, excellent exhibits!
Staff was super sweet. A few fun exhibits, was a great place to spend some time with family :)
Well curated, and a wonderful place to bring the family especially on Wednesdays when admission is free to all. The location is historic and fascinating with or without the displays for those who appreciate architecture. Also includes a kids as curators program that showcases work from area school children, and some interactive youth centered exibits that allow and encourage visitors to create and contribute.
Beautiful art, nice place
So interesting, beautiful work, friendly staff
Some fantastic art, both my daughters and I enjoyed it immensely.
Nice museum with friendly staff, they have nice events for children/ families often.
We were here for a wedding and had a great time. Facility worked very well for group of about 150. Big enough for ceremony, buffet and dancing.
Its a small museum and displays both contemporary and classic art works. Overall its well maintained and is located right in downtown and you can easily spend few hours here if you love art.
I was in Erie for a conference, and an after hours visit to the Erie Art Museum was a treat. What a gem! Clever exhibits, particularly the main floor installation of practically all the art in the collection in one gigantic display. So many things to see, all different artists, styles, eras, mediums, high art and low art. Great venue. I must return!
New and interesting exhibits will keep me returning year after year. Always beautiful art to view and enjoy.
Check this place out. It has awesome exibits that rotate regularly. The price is very reasonable and if you are lower income and have kids you can get in here and the childrens museum for free by just showing them your food stamp card. Great community icon that I hope stays around for a long time.
I love it here!
Great display of art. Well done inside and great outdoor metal art pieces from local artist Even Everhart
Great little museum. Some really great and interesting exhibits.
Great place to experience art, friendly staff, easy to navigate around
Erie Art Museum gets better with every visit. Ever since they did the Everything but the Shelves project it took things to another level! And the Bill Bradys works are adorable! I am proud that we have local artists like him! Great job!
Visited The Erie Art Museum. Enjoyed the Daniel Burke: Callings--Six decades of art and education. This was a retrospective of the artists work, who I was not familiar with, however, the art was curious and interesting. Our visit to the museum was brief, but we did take the opportunity to explore the Art-O-Mat machine. A $5.00 token placed into the slot in the front of a refurbished vintage cigarette machine presents you with a hand made art object created by an artist from somewhere in the world. I received a folk art sculture. No visit to Erie, or anywhere, is complete without lunch! Molly Brannigans pub has a great menu with stews and Guinness stout, potato dishes, fantastic burgers with flavorful fries! And chocolate peanut butter pie!I almost forgot the reason for the visit was to pick up paintings rejected from the spring show! Oh well, better luck next year!
Enthusiastic greeting when we entered. Love the crowded eclectic gallery, but the linear Bacon gallery was under construction when I was there. Overall a nice museum.
Amazing and awesome! Don’t know what else to say! Great family place check it out!
Great little art museum. Love the installations from local artists. Go on a night when they have live music. Such a neat vibe and lots of fun️
Beautiful art museum with tons of space and friendly helpful staff. Reasonably priced. Kids under 16 free!
Beautiful museum, lovely wedding venue.
So much local art on display! As an Erie native, it makes you very proud to see the talent of your community on display along side other notable talent from across the state and beyond.
Exceptional museum. Was not expecting the quality, variety and quantity of fine art and whimsy here. Building is comfortable and completely renovated.
This place has potential, but not worth 9 dollar admission. The money would be better spent on gas to see the Cleveland art museum. The historical building is cool but the exhibits were lacking. Id go on Wednesdays when it is free, but only then.
Ive been coming to the museum since the 1980s. Where is the Avalon Diner? Closed rooms? No second floor? No guided tours on Wednesday? No herb garden? Pink and blue paint... gross
Loved all the art there to interpret and play with on gallery night!
I recently visited the museum for the first time in at least a year and theyve made a lot of changes. I really like the current exhibits. I would definitely recommend checking it out, especially if you havent been in a while.
Erie Art Museum is a great artsy family outing. Current exhibits are mostly kid friendly and there are even some exhibits the kids can touch and play with. Loved the Underground Railroad exhibit and the focus on childhood education. Great 1.5 hour walkthrough with even smaller kids, leading to some great conversations.
This is a wonderful place to visit. This afternoon we basically had the museum to our selves. A friend has a piece in the Spring Show. We were there to see it.
Been here many times. Displays have changed greatly over the years. They extended the space and have more art. The different construction of the areas lends various atmospheres to the different display spaces.
We had fun cant wait to do it again
They have Second Sundays with make and take. Today was Play Dough and we made it and explored clay and the tools to make different items from clay. There was also an exhibit that the kids could touch on the way to the restrooms. It was very hands on and child oriented.
It was beautiful ️
They have an array of wonderful works of art from many different artists. The employees there are so kind and very knowledgeable about each artist. We even got to create several hands-on art projects that we got to keep.
Seems to be really making nice growth and progress with impressive exhibits lately
Great exhibit really loved the clay art that looked like balloons
Beautiful venue!! Spacious, great lighting, classy yet cozy atmosphere.
Many positive changes. Staff are friendly and informative. Visit was well worth price of admission and looking forward to next visit.
A fine museum for a relatively small city.
Incredibly interesting exhibits and very helpful, courteous staff. The Erie Art Museum was the best part of my stay in Erie. Looking forward to visiting once again!
Fun place!
What a fantastic place to spend time in Erie. I must for anyone. Great service and fantastic exhibits.
What a great space! The staff are progressive and they care about the region. Awesome commitment to showcasing fine art. Awesome place! I love it. Makes me even more proud of Erie.
State of the art is not a play on words when it comes to describing one of Eries coveted cultural art centers. Being able to explore and enjoy many forms of art is quintessential to the pulse of our growing downtown community. I encourage our people to get out with their family and experience this educational, enlightening, and valuable asset.
Great place to experience art, friendly staff but unfortunately there are some annoying regulars who go there and think they own the place.
Great space, a cheap way to spend an hour or so looking at some interesting art.
Erie Art Museum offers classes, shows, films, children’s activities, a gift and coffee shop, framing services, a permanent collection and always a current offering. Every year there is a judged spring show. The location is so close to so many other Erie favorites too.Memberships fees are reasonable and pay for themselves with a few visits. A great place to bring out of town guests.
Went to a wedding here and it was lovely!
The art museum has more to offer than just art. Always look out for events! One the best events is the outdoor concerts hosted during the summer during lunch hour. Great specials and events to take advtange of!
Entrance was hard to find( could be me). worth the visit. large collection of works. friendly staff.
I have had contact, joy, challenges, reprieve, knowledge and most of all, so many aha! moments over many years of visiting the Erie ARTS Museum. I have taken one evening classes as well as week long teacher Act 48 classes. There is so much vitality in the building.....Music on the Patio on Wednesdays offered for free during the lunch hour as a gift from the Erie Philharmonic, dance and music classes, yoga instruction, of course a myriad of art classes appropriate for both beginners and seasoned artists as well. The current exhibit of Garden in the Dark is anything but....There is a current exhibit by Erie resident artist Esther Hung which is on display at the nearby Blasco Library. EAM knows how to make art a living, breathing and hands-on experience for any and all. Check the website for free admission!!
The art museum is an amazing place. Anyone can feel welcomed and can connect to a peice of art. I personally know that because when I started to volunteer there it was ma positive environment. This a quality anyone or place would love to have. I always encourage my friends and family to go and look at the exhibits. Erie is a lucky city to have such a great place.
Love everything about this place. Erie would not be the same without it. Thank goodness we have this here. Very dedicated staff makes this place an interesting visit every time I set foot on the property. You can tell they pour their heart into the curating an awesome experience for visitors. Great parties here too!
Love the Erie Art Museum, kid & service dog friendly!!!
Well done! Watched the installation of new exhibit of driftwood art! So fun to have happened upon a different side of a museum. Could have spent more time.
Fun place to look around at. Went for the playdough making stayed to look at the art.
Some very cool works displayed in some interesting ways. Well worth a visit.
Very nice free lunchtime music!
The Erie Art Museum is a must visit! The Artrageous event was fabulous again!
Love taking my kids herw
Not much art here at all. The main room of pictures and paintings is amazing. Other than that, its bland.
Beautiful art museum with lots of interesting pieces
Loved the second sunday program! Beautiful exhibits and friendly people!
Great place for you and your family for art and entertainment
Such a great place to visit. Amazing programs for families too.
Very kind guide, variety of paintings and mobile. Its very good experience
They recently displayed everything they have from floor to ceiling and its a great look.
Great place with great art. If youre in Erie you have to check it out!
Love the latest gallery, they hung everything in the collection and its greater than the sum of its parts! Outstanding!
Very interesting art displays.
Ping pong tables and rooms full of art, a welcoming atmosphere! If you havent been here, you need to go!
Always has something interesting going on
So many things to do here. Always changing and updating!
Loved it, best first date with my girlfriend ever.
The Miracle Waffle exhibit was delicious!
This place is awesome. For the amount of money they have, they make it very nice and always interesting. Awesome staff as well.
Nicee
A great salon style exhibit of their framed collection
One of the best and most interesting places in Erie. The Erie Art Museum not only houses a variety of local, regional and international art but it also is home to a yoga studio, a frame shop, and hosts multiple art classes, films and cultural events.Currently the art museum is holding their annual spring show and it is a real treat for the senses. Admission is $7 for adults except for Wednesdays when its free.
Really cool art.
Great museum. Very impressed door the size of the city.
What an amazing place, and things are only getting better now!
Great experience with the history and creativity of art.
If you are visiting Erie I suggest this!
Not to be rude ..... But it was more art gallery than art museum ...........
Really cool vibes for gallery night
They have the Hunter Killer submarine!!
Im actually really surprised about some of the negative comments Im reading. All of my experiences at Erie Art Museum have been really great. Yes, It is a bit small...but then again Erie isnt exactly the worlds largest city. The Erie Art Museum in itself is a reflection of Erie. It wouldnt make sense to put some monumental museum with twenty different exhibits in a city the size of Erie. From what Ive seen the art museum has quite a lot to offer to a little city like Erie. Its a really fun place to go for a date or to take the family. Also, its free on Wednesdays which is awesome because you dont even have to pay to have a good time.
A great art museum.
Nice place to see art!
