I came here as a kid with my grama to help paint her tea set, and it was such a great memory for me. I also came more recently on my own. I made a mug for a Christmas gift- it was more than I was looking to spend but completely worth it!! They charge for the price of the piece, and for the time you spend painting it.I loved designing and painting my piece, and they offered cupcakes from Icing on the Lake the one day I was there (the mug took two days to paint due to the complex design). Painting it was very therapeutic for me, and they had a day (I think Thursday) where the time spent painting was half the cost it normally is. That was a nice surprise.The staff was able to answer all my questions and was very friendly. Definitely will be back in the future!!

Great activity for all ages!

I had painted a piece and some of the paint was too thick they told me at the time I picked it up. Funny thing is I asked them before it was burned and they said it was fine. My piece was not all burned in places and others they just messed it up. I will never again write words on my pieces and that really makes me sad. I had this also happen to a student of mine. I am not really happy with my piece now I cant give it as a gift as I planned .

Cute place and lots of fun. Definitely pricey though, especially since no one wants to rush when painting.

Wide selection of ceramics. Excellent place to take children to pick out knick knack type gifts for homemade touch for loved ones. Painting can be done in the store they bake the paint job and then you can pick it up about 7 Days Later.

We brought our Girl Scouts there for part of a badge requirement, and the staff was fantastically helpful and accommodating. The girls had so much fun painting their pottery and we adults are planning a grownups only trip this summer.

Fun and unique way to spend your day

Being new parents, my wife and I decided to check out Claytopia after seeing a really neat craft idea on Pinterest. Ever hear of a Bum-kin? Its a cute idea where you paint your babys bum and stamp it on a ceramic plate and create a cute fall-time conversation piece. Anyways, we decided to swing by on a weekday and make this little craft. The pleasant woman that runs the place was very nice and very helpful as we knew next-to-nothing about pottery. After a total of about an hour and a half, we were done with our project, paid a very fair price for the service and were told we could come back the following week to pick up the piece after it was fired. It was absolutely perfect, even for amateurs painting on ceramic. Lol Overall, this was a great, memory-making trip with our new family and Id highly recommend it to anyone looking for something fun and memorable to do!
