This museum is an absolute must see! For those of you who are railroad, model trains, any type of railroad collectible, plus an amazing part of America’s history. It’s right here in Enid, OK. Started by “Watermelon” Campbell, his collection is amazing! Just the vintage railroad china! You could stay for days. Nice hotels along the 412. This place a true gem and one of a kind.

The Railroad Museum of Oklahoma is a cool place for everything trains! They have scale model railroads inside as well as many other railroad collections. The trains outside are very cool to see. The old steam engine used to be located north of St. Marys hospital. When it was moved it got a lot of media attention. I would encourage you to come see the museum if you love trains or the history of the railroads. This is a hidden gem located in Enid, Ok. So if your in the area stop in and take a look!

MUST VISIT. The vast railroad collection of memorabilia is absolutely mind-blowing within the walls of the old depot. Watermelon is 98 years old and still playing with the model railroad layouts. AMAZING! He walked us around the entire facility giving history and factual detail on all the old railroads. Enjoyed all the cabooses and steam engine outside in the yard as well. I went to the bank and came back so that I could make a more meaningful donation. This place is really impressive. Worth a day trip, road trip for sure.

We truly enjoyed the Thomas the Train attraction, as well as the opportunity to attend the Christmas train. Besides the many events, the permanent sites on the property were extremely popular by a certain 3 yr old.

The history retained within the walls of this amazing establishment is inspiring. Given only a couple of hours during our visit, we wished we could have spent a whole day.

Had a blast. Grandson loved it. My grandson met Jeremy from OKC on his birthday and played with him in the childrens area. They are modifying a caboose for kids to play in. Several layouts of different scales. Lots of rolling stock outside, especially cabooses from different lines. One steam engine 4-8-2 Frisco 1519.

Ive been to better railroad museums than this one. Its a great structure inside and out but the people who run the place is in their 70s to 100 years of age and all you hear from the lady there is about her husband watermelon Lee or whatever his name is.

A cool place and a neat collection for sure. I just wish there had been more signs explaining things and it would have felt more like a museum. As it is it felt like a disorganized private collection.

Had a great time at the museum with the cutest little engineer ever!! It was a lot of fun to see all of the old artifacts that Watermelon has collected over the years. There are so many things to look at and admire. We could have spent hours there if we didnt have our little engineer with us. He had a blast though!!

Everything was great once we got done with the tour. The owner/manager of the museum is obviously very proud of his railroad collection and proceeded to give a standard tour to a family with toddlers. We spent most of our time nodding and smiling while we corralled the children and tried to entertain them.Once the tour concluded our children LOVED playing outdoors on the railroad cars, ringing the various bells and watching the model railroad sets.

This Museum was a labor of love for a lot of old-time railroad workers. It has quite a number of memorabilia items from the old days of fine dining on the railroad. It has a large display of other items as well. Plus, it has a miniature train set up that I would almost be willing to kill for. The cost is free, however they would like a donation as you leave.

If you love real history of the railroad, dont miss this place. Its really laid back and the old man that keeps going is a national treasure. What a character! Loves talking and is chock full of a past on the rails. Its 5 bucks a person but its worth much more if this your thing. My son LOVES trains, so we had a blast.

One of the best railroad museums we have seen and we have visited major ones such as the National Museum in York England, the RR Museum of Pennsylvania, and the California State Railroad Museum. The rolling stock is impressive but it is the amazing collections of signs, uniform buttons, lanterns, and photos inside the main building that has us coming back to visit when we are in the area. The extensive collection of RR china, some of it quite rare, is beautifully displayed. The set of plastic “china” from modern times amongst the exquisite sets will elicit a chuckle.

I may be a little bit partial because I grew up going here with my grandpa and know Watermelon (the man that runs it) very well but even then I must recommend this place for people and their families. They have nice events great historical material and the fact that you can walk through the steam engine and boxcars out side is usually a hit with any child. Then there is the model railroad layout in the back that is massive.

Took about 13 kids ages 5-15 and they all LOVED it! The staff are very kind and great with the kids and the trains and items they have really excite the kids. Our younger ones loved watching the toy train go around the little town and our older kids really enjoyed walking through the trains. Great family day!
