Good drinks. Cool decor. Great place to just hang out or get drunk. Plus lots of arcade games. Retro and modern.
We went to trivia night, and it was super fun. There was great bar service and plenty of entertainment.
80s! All the great throwback games. The Mortal Kombat series, Ninja turtle, NBA jam and more. Quarter play at 50cents a game. To compare one other I been would be that the theme and game selection is legit, but the other seems more successful by having more food options and beer selection which resulted with free play and or cheeper play. Overall Rubiks is a legit place to play old arcade and pinball games.
Nice pop culture place to visit old classic arcade machines everywhere and the dj is pretty cool here
Love this place, the people, the vibes, it really distracts you from any worries you have. Great food and Karaoke Wednesdays!!!
If you enjoy pinball tables, retro v arcade game machines, 80s music, and adult beverages, youre in luck. Youll want to drop in here to satisfy your gaming urges while enjoying a beer or cocktail. Live DJ spinning the classic hits on the weekends which is far more entertaining than the bias playlist from the Hope and Anchor manager across the street. Heads up, this is not a sports bar so if you wanted to watch a game and order some wings, youll need to go elsewhere. Tight parking lot fills up fast on weekends nights. Service is friendly but tends to be slow on busy nights.
I always go here for fun arcade games and to sing karaoke which is the best! The staff is super sweet and actually good with mixing the drinks and helping you with anything. Its a great place for pictures as well!!!
El Pasos largest group of pinball machines... and the first real pinball ive played since phucking covids.
Really like the variety of arcade games. All our favorites from back in the day and more. Drinks were really good and appreciated drink specials. Self serve water was nice & cold. The whole facility was decorated with throw backs from the 80s. Plus, it was nice & clean. The only draw back was no kitchen, but they do allow you to order food & eat there at the tables provided.
No food or 90s music the past few times Ive gone. All their social media constantly advertises this place as a place for 90s music and good bar food. But I dont experience either when Ive gone. Does have some nice retro arcade games though.
Walked in on a Sunday afternoon at around 6pm. Place had about 6 people. Sat at the bar and the female bartender looked at us and walked away. She glanced over a few times in the span of 15 minutes or so but never acknowledged our presence. She seemed like she was ready to clock out and was in a hurry to leave but she could have at least said something. We were looking forward to playing arcade games but decided to leave. She stared at us as we walked out but again, said nothing. Pretty disappointed and wont return.
That place is the best. I made all their signs and love the layout and look that they chose. Cant wait to go there ery day.
Amazing experience love the atmosphere
A little run down but still a fun time. Drinks and games are cheap, so $20 can really take you a long way there. They’ve got a pretty good selection of pinball machines as well as classic arcade games and a pop-a-shot.The place is a little run down and half the games don’t work. Last time I went they couldn’t make me a drink because they were out of vodka - what kind of bar runs out of vodka? Anyway worth checking out if you’re a fan of arcade games.
It used to be really great. Had really great games that were the reason for always coming back. But now, alot of games dont work, no more varieties in the games. A now dull place to chill. It still has great service in terms of bar service though.
Very small and cute bar for the most part.Pros:1. Cheap drinks2. 25 cent gamesCons:1. Drinks are subpar2. Most games need repairs
Fun retro arcade games from the 80s and 90s. Great place for a first date.
I love the idea of this place. I dont want to be tough with the review, but there are lots of inoperable machines, and it smells like somebody spilled three bottles of Fabuloso (which I actually dont mind, but it doesnt fit the atmosphere). I really want to give three stars for execution, but since its a great, unique spot for EP, I give it the four.
Very interesting. Great for arcade nostalgia. Not a place to hold a conversation
Nice place to play some old school arcade games and and good selection of pinball machines. Just wish all the games worked. Alot of the machines were either off or would take your money.
What an amazing place to reminisce and enjoy the good old times. Its like going back to the 80s and staying there. Great selection of beers, plenty of drinks to choose from and the appetizers are delicious. The staff is always friendly and very quick. The arcade machine variety is stunning and all the great titles are there. Definitely a place to visit for that retro arcade nostalgia.
Really cool atmosphere. Wish they did a free night or something like most arcade bars Ive been to. Some of the games dont work, beer isnt expensive.
I love this place. Chill. Easy going. Lot of badass games and even for being super packed the bartenders are still pretty good service wise
Great atmosphere. Lots of TVs, arcade games, pinball and kid friendly games. Great drink selection too.
Best bar in town for those who want a good time, some great drinks, and a crowd that will keep their clothes on. Its a classy bar that is fun for all ages. Bring your quarters kids, and take a trip down nostalgia lane!
Lots of themed decor and music, have an event space for parties, and it’s a good time! Only reason it isn’t five stars is that half of the pinball machines were down
It was cool to be around all those games but the tequila selection was next to none and not too many beers either.
Really original and cool. Video games and alcohol are a good combination.
Awesome old school arcade with lots of retro games. Games cost between 1-2 quarters for each credit. Theres a bar with anything youd like. Lots of black light action, so prepare yourself. Im not sure if they have this as an option, but Id love to see a night with a flat cover and unlimited games.
Had fun playing trivia, and the prizes were great. Its just like an old arcade, except it has a bar.
Came here with classmates from USASMA, very chill spot, the tacos were amazing, a very warm atmosphere, will definitely come back
As Im not of age yet, I cant talk about the bar service (lol) But I can definitely talk about the arcade itself! They have a good selection of games. Youll mostly find retro games, but they do have a couple of modern ones. It has a nice variety too, and its organized thoughtfully: youll find fighting games on one end, shooters and classics on the opposite end, pinball machines against the back wall, and racing games on the other side. The biggest issue I see with these machines is that a good chunk of them need maintenance. Although after a recent visit showed me that these games are being looked after and taken care of, there are still some quirks that I think should be repaired soon. And because these games are getting older, Im not sure if theyll be repaired or replaced as frequently as they should.Despite this, its still possible to have a good time. Ive come here with my girlfriend and had a blast playing Mortal Kombat and Michael Jacksons Moonwalker. I also like to come by myself occasionally and spend a few bucks to kill time. If there was one thing I wish this place had, it would be more racing games. Id love to see something like Daytona USA in here :)Overall, if youre looking for the authentic arcade experience, especially if youre an 80s or 90s kid, this is the go-to place in El Paso. I dont expect the library of games to grow soon, but it has the essentials at least.EDIT: Ive decided to bump it up one more star, after a recent visit showed me that some of the games that needed attention were fixed up. Will definitely be back more frequently!
Rubiks had my heart on the East side but we ventured to the West side on Mesa to see Joe Dorgan mix some tunes for the 80s party. This place is filled with isles of vintage and modern video games. Its fantastic! Old school favorites in arcade style forums to pin ball and new electric machines, sit inside games, its all there! Theres a full bar in the middle, sit space to munch on a fun game themed menu.Special drinks like - Talk Nerdy To Me - include candy to keep them child in you alive, like Nerds, Pop Rocks and then some to keep your spirits warm. They have food but it was too packed that night. They offer a menu of sliders, chicken wings, snacks like nachos, quesadillas and even smores!Special hours where all ages are welcome are 3-7pm Monday thru Saturday, Sundays 12pm- 7pm and then the 21+ party begins from 7pm to 2am closing. Its usually a fun atmosphere whether you want to zone out and play games or mingle with the dance crowd. Attached on one is also another bar called Buellers. Its a must see for 80s movie buffs.
This bar is really cool, I dont know if they do any thirsty Thursday specials or not, but they got a butt load of cool games, the place could use better decoration, if they had more classic arcade decor and painted donkey Kong on the walls and such I think itd be better but its still awesome.I always have a blast when I go there, but some machines are in dire need of some TLC the Mario kart game for example I couldnt link up because my multi player link button actually came out of socket. Some of the joy sticks on certain games dont go forward or backwards that well. The star wars x fighter game has been broken for months. I know these can be expensive repairs, but its the only thing that separates your bar from the others. I sincerely hope these repairs get done because I would hate for patrons to lose interest and put rubiks out of business. Then Ill only have Dave b busters where I spend 50 dollars on arcade games that dont have the wow or nostalgic factor... And over priced drinksI hope the owner sees this, I gave rubiks alot of criticism, that desperately needs to be addressed. However it holds a special place in the child side of me and I hope it can be back to its former glory when I started going 3 years ago
Karaoke nights are the best here. Never a dull moment!
Great Service, Great Drinks, Good Prices
The positives of this place are the drink prices are good and the DJ was awesome. However, the place does smell like urine when you walk in, as others have posted. And at least 50% of the games didnt work. I went out of my way to make sure I made it to The Spar, unfortunately I left a little disappointed. The way they have it decorated in 80s is also positive
Great place!! Friendly staff and quick service. Much better than the places close by. Additionally, having retro arcade games only makes it a great place to go to on the weekends and with friends
This place is great, great old school games. The staff is usually very fast and very nice we always have a good time here.
Couple of years ago all the games worked and it was fun. Still very fun but half the games dont work correctly which interrupts the fun. Drinks are cheap compared to other areas in el also so that’s a major plus. Good place to go hang out with friends if you are visiting from out of town. Make sure you get quarters from the machine before you start your fun or try the karaoke.
Great family friendly joint. In the afternoon me and my 4 year old and some friends had a blast waiting on a tattoo appointment. Must-see stop for every trip through El Paso
Awesome paintings/interior design. Covered in 80s-90s arcade and video game murals plus some pop culture icons as well. Ample amounts of arcade machines that only cost a quarter. So all that is awesome! The food isnt very good but passable. Would definitely go often if I lived in el paso just for the cool games and environment.
Had a fun time with friends but a lot of the arcade games didnt really work they would just eat up quarters
So much fun. Plenty of games. Cheap fun. Staff is kind.
Its exactly what youd expect from an 80s themed bar. Perfect.
This place is so much fun. They have awesome games. What I loved about this place aside from all the different games was that its never really too crowded. Any game I wanted to play I was able to, without having to wait too long. Its also very cute, with outdoor seating, mountain views and fun photo booth/signs.Would def come back here soon.
Great selection of classic pinball and arcade games, decent price on the drinks.
Awesome 80s bar in el paso
Great selection of arcade games. Took me back to my childhood years. Foods good, and has a great vibe. Great place to take friends.
The games and cocktails are really the only good things, but they are the main point. Its really awful how they make the female employees dress so salaciously. If theyre going to make the ladies show so much skin, they should at least make it worth it by using video game character outfits to at least give the place a themed feel. Otherwise, scantily clad ladies just dont go with the nice gaming vibe.
Dope place it could use a few more classics like intial d or house of the dead 1 but it was a cool experience friendly staff and the equipment Actually works.
Really fun even nostalgic with a variety of classic video games I remember playing as a kid... Great atmosphere. Just a bunch of adults wanting to be kids again
Get experience hands down
We made a stop here on our road trip just because they have a lot of pinball machines.Dont come for the pinball. The machines are not maintained well. Many with flippers that arent adjusted correctly. Others with weak coils. Many machines that werent leveled too
Great atmosphere, my husband and I love to stop by for some drinks and fun with the arcades. Great variety of old school arcades love this place!!
Fun place but I wish they had food.
Awesome games from a 90s childhood great drink specials my new favorite hangout
Retro! Pop rocks drink is to die for. Get extra pop rocks though.
Its was nice um new to the city and was looking 4 something to do and I found this place. This is a great place for date night if your girlfriend likes video games old school video games
Great location, great bartenders, and fun 4-player Pac-Man!! Lol played that all night
Great place to munch while playing classic arcades and remember the old times.
Speedy Gonzales drink is good
Most machines were broken. Overpriced, and it took like 10 minutes to be acknowledged every single time we went to the bar. The bartender would help people that would arrive after we did too which was annoying. The darts were all broken and had the tips still in the board. Oh yeah and it was super hot. Not interested in ever going back
We came with the kiddos and play games and ate some yummy food. The waitress was the sweetest and very friendly. Played till 7pm which kiddos are allowed to be here. Sundays all day play for kiddos with adult Highly recommend place. To chill and be a kid
Pretty fun BarCade with a bar in the middle and lots of games to play. The fighting games could use new sticks because they dont move as desired, the PAC MAN machine needs new sticks too. Also the Mario Kart machine is usually broken or only 1 works.Decent drink specials but I wouldnt pay for beer on a non sale day. They also have wings here thanks to Hot Chicks. Maybe the day I tried them it wasnt the best crew but the wings had so little sauce, flavorless, and added nothing to the wings. I had the Chipotle and another in memorable one. As of right now I cannot recommend them at $1 a wing.Im sure this place can be awesome but I feel like its missing something because its usually pretty dead.
This place used to be fun, but the last time j went deterred me from ever wanting to go back. Parking was beyond horrid. Mind you I had at the time a handicap decal (all spots were taken) so I parked next door. Yes towing is enforced but of allllll the people there they only targeted those in the handicap spot. Not rubrik problem, but they need more parking spaces both for regular and handicap people... Also bartender gets overwhelmed and doesnt serve guests within a reasonable amount of time. All in all Id rather head out to another bar then be bothered here anymore.
Staff was attentive, arcade was entertaining. I can definitely see myself going back.
I went on a Wednesday and on that day they have karaoke. There was a decent amount of people participating as well. Being an arcade, they have a few options of games you can play from pinball machines to classic Mario. Pacman, fighting games, Simpsons fighting, star wars, basketball and a decent amount of others. Some games were not in working order and I wonder if theyve been like that for some time or not. Also, a few machines tool my coins but did not count them as a token which was a disappointment. Overall the experience was good as usual. I dont drink alcohol and only went to enjoy time with friends but the DJ made sure to remind everyone of all the drink specials going on that night.
Great service. Specialty drinks, not so much. Good experience overall
Awesome place. Lots of fun never a dull moment. Free to get in but you have to pay to play all the games. Cozy place with a few places to sit down besides the bar. One of the bartenders there doesnt know how to make a Long Island ice tea. Definitely needs to read up on his drinks. All around enjoyed my time there.
So much fun. You have a variety of games you can play while enjoying some of the best drinks.
Only reason its not 5 stars is some games were down. But overall awesome place, games werent that expensive.
Let me tell you that this last time that we went there we actually played the arcade games and we actually had some fun. It was on a Sunday and there was a few people there but comfortable enough to play and enjoy ourselves.
Super friendly staff and love trivia nights on Mondays! All the old school arcade games are bad as! Love the vibe!
When you want a bar-cade, you have to go to Rubix. Great selection of old school games and they are 1 to 2 coins each machine. Granted, Funkmyers Rec room on the eastside has theirs for free but the selection isnt as much regarding the number of arcades they have available.Rubix is my nostalgic center of joy!
Gotta try the competitive Pacman!
I love this place. Games are awesome. Staff is awesome. Very friendly. If you have an issue with a game, they fix it immediately. Love the fact that games are mostly a quarter and pinball is only 50 cents. Have been to other arcade bars around the country and pinball is usually a dollar sometimes 2.00. Will be back very soon. A very unique bar experience in El Paso. Great Games, Great Drinks and spacious. Awesome 5 stars!!!
Needs remodeling. The chicks give better service to guys! Wth is that!?
Great place for having fun
Drinks are awesome, great place to spend time with friends drinking and playing some old arcade games
Great games, reasonably priced drinks, dripping with 80s nostalgia.
My favorite bar. Its awesome that the bartenders know what we like and its quick service.
I was sad to arrive and see the Simpson game wasnt working. Lol still had fun
Glitch Gaming recommend this place for my Husband & I. Loved it! Awesome staff and drinks were made well :)
When the entire city is shut down in a massive traffic jam, you can count on rubiks to have their tables serviced and cheap drinks ready to wait it out in comfort.
I enjoyed the atmosphere. Good mix of people with a relaxed vibe.
Its pretty fun. To come here and hang out during the week play games and have a couple beers. On the weekends it gets packed and at least I dont play games much since it just gets too packed and its hard to find a free machine. But overall a good place. The slushies are good!
If you like arcade games this is your bar! Okay drink specials.
Best arcade I have ever been to. Felt like I was in the 80s! Will definitely want to come back here again!
I love Rubiks. Great bartenders and amazing atmosphere. Love the retro theme and game tournaments. Sweet place to meet up with friends or at least attempt to make new ones.
Always a fun time. Marge-aritas are always on point it’s expansion to the bar next door was a great idea, love the pool table.
Service is not great . Not much to enjoy unless youre really big on arcade games
Recently went to play some games and have drinks with friends. Most of the games were broken or buttons didnt work. Definitely needs more attention.
It was a good time, but the game could use some repair.
