The heart of El Paso. Come visit the place thatll show you where El paso started and how it has slowly evolved into the nice downtown center it is. Great place to visit and take pictures. If youre into history just walk around and take a look, you will not be disappointed by all the turn of the century architecture. They also have good Mexican snacks at the placita cafe that you must try if youre visiting. Visiting at night and during the holidays is awesome! They really light the place up!
I love taking my break in this park. It is shaded and beautiful. There are ping pong tables to play on (byoe [bring your own equipment]) and other outdoor games that you can ask the concession stand for the tools to play. The water display in the center is absolutely gorgeous. There are beautifully landscaped areas that have bridges for indivduals to admire upon. The vibe is peaceful.
If you can use your debit or credit card, rent a scooter, stroll around, take some pictures. Its cool and with Christmas coming.. the lights bro.
Its a good place but theres no to much to do just go with youre friends and eat but you can do that in other park
I love San Jacinto Plaza brings back memories of my childhood. The Christmas Lights are the best.. Love El Paso this time of the year.. :)
Great place to go once the sun goes down. Theres food, entertainment and lots of great spots for picture taking.
Love hanging out here to take pictures and enjoy the beautiful landscape theyve set up downtown. Its always clean when I go and a place where I feel safe to hang out with friends. It does close at a certain time at night and you do have to pay for parking but other than that I would totally recommend visiting here.
I was at San Jacinto with my daughter and 2 grandchildren visiting from Austin Austin about 2 weeks ago. It was quiet that I missed the crowd! Very nice place to visit and enjoy a raspa ( shaved iced) from the concession stand with my family !
Beautiful place to hang out with friends and family. Bring your own paddle and ball for the ping pong table. The trees are all lit up and decorated this time of year. Plenty of people of all ages wandering around and enjoying the beauty.
A great place to take the kids now this days at least to walk around.
Nice place but nothing what you must see
I liked this place back in the early 90s when the bus station was there. It was always full of people and busy. Its kind of quiet now. Really pretty though.
Great job the city has accomplished making the plaza beautiful again. I love it️...
I loved all the history there is just being in the plaza. You can see buildings that represent the history of our great city. This is the first place I take family when they say they want to see El Paso. Shared some photos of our photo shoot so the world can see how amazing it is at the San Jacinto Plaza.
Very nice place. Very clean. Theres even a horse shoe pit. Also tables for playing chess.
Very nice place to hang out with friends and family. There are many places around to eat! Very nice and lots of security around!
Very nice Christmas lights display
Really pretty and nice for a walk or for a date...
We Love our City Town Plaza...we Love the Traditional Christmas Tree and lights they Decorated.
This place is where originally use to be the bus stop for all buses and also real alligators where the statues of alligators were placed, many years back. The landscape has changed since I came back from California in March of 2015. I kind of like the change of the area where it lands it self for taking photos in that area. The surrounding area of other buildings and businesses give it a new look. But I also went there because I and my girlfriend after eating decided for us to go exercise for a walk and burn a little fat from the food we ate and set down for a while and talk. It turned out to be a good day for us and enjoyed the walk to the plaza. I will also be going to the Coffee House across from the San Jacinto Plaza with my sweetheart when the weather is much cooler for coffee.
Nice....family oriented. Its looking really nice. I like the improvements.
Beautiful plaza where lots of festivities occur. Located in the middle of restaurants, bars, and gorgeous photo opportunities.
Getting ready for Christmas. Nice place for walk or pingpong or chess
Nicely decorated for the holidays
This is a must see if you are visiting El Paso, the park has a lot history and Is one of the hotspots for a good time in the border City.
This plaza is so beautiful in the day and in the night. I was there admiring my beautiful city after my prom night and honestly is such a calm place where you can just sit down and see how everyone is doing different things there. It is also a great place to take good pictures in I often see many quinceñeras taking pictures there :)
Great place to stop by and take photos, lots of decorating lights and picturesque scenery.
Best place to visit downtown. The food stand sells great food too.
Great tourist spot. Looks very Mexican or Latin American in how its laid out.
Just beautiful to walk and admire all the beauty San Jacinto Plaza has to offer.
Cooling down from a warm spring day, young people out at this welcoming plaza with good lighting and ample benches for seating. Alligators in sculpture at the center of the plaza - I have no idea why and didnt realise they are a thing in this border town. Take an unhurried walk in this square with a variety of eateries that invite you to come in, take a load off, and catch up. A library is nearby as well as a baseball park.
Great, amazing, fun place to visit anytime of the year. Theres food, games, scenery. A must go for any tourists.
Dope place to spend some time once this whole pandemic is under control. They have stone chess tables and ping pong courts so its doper than just dope
Such a beautifully designed area, and very well maintained. If its true that cleanliness is next to Godliness, then this must be a place to pause on the way to heaven.
Been here many times. Always nice, clean. But it is democrap el paso.....
Beautiful statue in honor and memory of the live alligators who once lived in the same pool, so many years ago.
Now with brand new Public restrooms.
My wife and I went to see the Christmas theme at San Jacinto Plaza. It was better this year than last year. They have more food choices-- having added a reasonably priced restaurant next to the Plaza Theater. The displays are great-- which explains why the plaza was packed!! This super display really reflects great on El Paso! :-)
This is a lovely place, it was recently redesigned and it looks great! We went over on Christmas night, there are awesome decorations, lights etc and everyone in town seems to hang out there! There are plenty of cool spot to snap a pic and street vendors to grab a bite.
Really relaxed place to just hang out rental bikes, scooters, table tennis, and chess tables so just enough to do few cafes and small restaurants around so you can have a good selection of evetything.... If you play Pokémon go its a great spot to be at
I love it during christmas
Was there for senior pictures. Lots of options for pretty backgrounds. Also had some corn on a cup at the concession stand there and they were amazing
What a walk downtown has really changed for the best plenty of people out enjoying the night plenty of light and cops on bikes adds more peace of mind.
Went during the Mariachi Festival and it was very nice and clean. Food at the food stands was good and the people and area were super nice. Come during the winter for the Winterfest and theyll have an ice ring.
A pleasant experience. Very quiet, safe and nicely done plaza.
This place is located down town El Paso and the place itself is a good place to relax. It has a very nice viewand can work perfectly to take professional pictures or to just enjoy the sun for a bit. The places and stores near are also highly recommended and some people might assist you in directions if you ever get lost. The park itself represents a lot and at night the high buildings and lights can be shown bringing you to a state of serenity. I highly recommend to come here for any occasion.
Awesome better than what I remembered.
Lovely place. Had a great time playing ping pong!
Its a nice park in the center of downtown El Paso with several restaurants around it
Good place to hang out, with this covid stuff everything seems barren, but its still a nice area.
I just came from there at 11:20pm. The lights were beautiful! The Christmas Lights were still up and tomorrow they will be gone. Greatest time to go!!!!
Had a great time with my family!! Beautiful lights, decorations, and great atmosphere!! Will definitely go back ️
This place takes me back to when I was a little kid. I still enjoy it and so do my kids
Fun family night! Nice lights. Good music and folklorico. Inexpensive food and games considering the event. Free pictures with Santa on a sleigh(long line). The kids always love playing in the horseshoe area. If you got no kids with you, nice bars are close and Anson11 to dine. Beautiful weather tonight.
Just gorgeous plaza. El Paso knows how to celebrate its heritage. Must see if you’re in the area
I suggest a nice stroll in the park accompaniedby a cold ice cream treat or maybe even some frozen yogurt to keep you cooled down, while in the meantime, you can watch the sun rays go down! Go at it, on a game of ping pong or chess. You should definitely check this place out!
Beautiful place to enjoy life music, take family pictures or selfies with the magic of Christmas decorations. Free!
Its a nice place to relax on ur day off.
A very nice place for a walk, photo shoot, hang out, or place to visit for people out of town. Many options to eat or drink around. Rich in history as well. I highly recommend visiting as it has gotten better over the years
Its what el paso deservs its beautiful!
Great to visit at night time and view the newly lighted buildings in the downtown area.
My grandmother brought me here to learn about the history of el paso. I was not disappointed.
They have a visitors center with public restrooms. Great improvement!Beautiful lights and family friendly entertainment. Some of the food trucks are a little overpriced but if you walk around youll find good deals and good food.Had a great time!
Historical and has very good food
Great walk through the Plaza at night ... looking forward to seeing the hotel remodels next year!
San jacinto plaza is awesome because its clean, green grass, great trees, great statue of three alligators, great place to relax and relieve stress
A nice place to hang out and enjoy downtown. But dont ride the scooters directly in the plaza, a security guard told us not to.
It Is better during winter time, winter fest is around and has a bunch of stuff to do!
The Christmas lights are awesome so beautiful! I love that are community was out there celebrating the season, I havent seen that in a while. I am not going to lie, I do miss the colorful lighting when I was growing up as a kid visiting, but all in all it was gorgeous!
So very beautiful, it had been a very, very long time since I d gone to downtown.
I really love what they are doing downtown. The lights were beautiful.
Great place to spend a family or date night
I used to live in El Paso, I have been gone for 18 years, It was a nice atmosphere, I think it was cozier years ago. They need colorful Christmas lights. They only have clear/white lights. Glad to see the nativity scene is still there. I was looking for champurado, none of the stands sold it. I used to buy some in the past, made it feel more like the Christmas holiday. But it was still nice.
Very nice historic plaza. A lot of restoration going on to the historic buildings around this plaza. The public restrooms are extremely well taken care of. Street parking is available in the side streets. Several attractions for kids as well as adults in this downtown area.
Had a good time and rode on the scooters
So beautiful and decorated
Cool historic place
The renovation is nice, but the holiday charm San Jancito Plaza had before is gone. The local street vendors have been forced out, replaced with bland mini shops owned by the city. The beautiful decor has been mostly trashed, replaced with genetic colorless lights that stay up the entire year. This area has been entirely gentrified, and the local flavor is gone.
It a good place to relax. You can rent a bicycle or electric scooter there. There are lots of places to eat and drink within walking distance
Its always a great place to visit and walk around. The food right on the plaza is really good, and the coffee box is great too. Theres a very nice restaurant across the street, Starbucks, Mrs. Fields, and the plaza theatre all within walking distance. All the shops are in close proximity too. Little slash pad and the ping pong tables. You can do so much here!
Beautiful place. Good place to visit with the family. Plenty of food trucks and things to do in and around the plaza day or night...
Beautiful downtown El Paso, clean atmosphere and a great San Jacinto plaza.
Beautiful place. Not a lot to do or see but its a wonderful place to sit in the late evening and let your crazy thoughts coagulate and come together to really just appreciate life.
Very nice with all the Christmas lights and very well organized. New public restrooms are well taken care of and clean too. Very nice place to spend with Family and Friends. Would be nice if there were more stands with Hot Cocoa and cookies, donuts, and small gifts from vendors which make their own products for Christmas gifts.
Beautiful downtown plaza. The millions invested are totally worth it. Nice to take a walk and play some chess or ping pong. Little shops and bars around the plaza, very convenient. Right across from Camino Real hotel and the Plaza Theater. Starbucks and the Coffee Box a good place to grab coffee and walk around.
I visited this park back in April 2019 and stayed out after dark with my 13 year old daughter. I felt totally safe. The park is beautifully lit up at night and there were lots of young people visiting establishments all around the park. Its a beautiful place, I was very impressed.
This place is the perfect place to have fun with the whole family or with friends. They have a little kioks that sells delicious snacks from the region like border tacos, fresas con crema, or corn in a cup. Theres sometimes shows and events, and during Christmas time, the lights look gorgeous.
Downtown has changed a lot over the years but in the best way possible! San Jacinto plaza is a great example. Beautiful statue to admire with loads of history surrounding you starting with the plaza itself. This month is very beautiful here right now...spent the afternoon having lunch outside at the nice benches and just perfect scenery. Neat local restaurants and a starbucks at walking distance and a few blocks east is the bustling mercados of downtown. Perfect place for a chill, romantic walk or a relaxing stroll with friends (or alone).
Visited during the Winterfest and the decorations were amazing! They had food trucks with a variety of food options to choose. Great atmosphere throughout the area and the ice skating area, just around the corner, makes it a perfect plaza to visit with family and friends.
Awesome Great For the Family ! Glide scooters Always entertain.
I love how it looks now! I remember I used to hate going downtown as a kid, the plaza used to be dirty, filled with homeless people and packed with people waiting to catch the busses. Downtown EP seems to be getting as nice as other major citys downtown areas.
Had a nice Valentines Day date with my wife as we sat on a bench in the plaza and quietly watched the people enjoy the evening as well. Nice plaza in an increasingly interesting location as Downtown El Paso reinvents itself.
Its getting better! Itd be way better if the building had their lights left in overnight though! Itll never happen though!
As a child, I remember this place extremely bigger. Nonetheless, I love coming back to my hometown during the holidays and spending time with my own family and making traditions. Definitely the city has upgraded the placita. I wonder if next year I could have Mariachi playing Xmas songs
Awesome place to have a photo session. The best time to go visit this plaza is at night, so your able to enjoy the light show. There are a few places to grab a bite, not expensive and good. Most of the times this place is empty but theres a few events going on the weekends. Good place overall.
San Jacinto Plaza is a lovely place to come for a stroll, eat lunch, or just relax and people watch. Many cultural events are held here throughout the year and so this plaza sees a lot of foot traffic. I also like coming to San Jacinto to enjoy the beautiful architecture that surrounds most of the park. El Paso is seeing a renaissance of sorts, so its really great to see the tranformation first-hand.You can grab a bite to eat at the San Jacinto cafe on the west side of the plaza, and you can bring your dogs out to enjoy a walk: theres a doggy fountain right next to the cafe.Youll definitely want to take photos of the Los Lagartos sculpture in the center of the plaza. Its been an important fixture of the park for a very long time, and serves as a monument for the real alligators that used to live there.
I love sitting at the PlaZa. It’s a great place to meet people!
