Wonderful park for any occasion. Nice hiking trails, many barbecue areas, play areas and a nice stream going through the place. It does cost $2 to park there tho, so I usually park at a nearby business and walk. Bonus: This place has many excellent PokeStops. Very good place to get some exercise and exploration while playing Pokemon Go.

Great park, just bring $3 for parking. 100% worth the cost. Huge park with lots of space. Paved walkways as well as unpaved and more of an outdoorsy feel areas. Many play areas. Beautiful trees and water.

Nice little park with hiking trails. Lots of shade to sit under plus a little stream (probably doesnt run all year). Good to get the kids out. Lots of big rocks to climb around on.

Spent my childhood growing up at this park. Birthdays, barbecues or Easter egg hunts, we were there. Many memories. Covid restrictions have been made but a nice family park to get out and enjoy. Parking is $3 and plenty of it. Only a handful of people there during the week days so not sure what the weekends look like. Bathrooms available and plenty of shade to be shared on those hot east county days. Accessibility for all.

Love this park. There are multiple environments here. From Barbecue pit, & horseshoes to kids play ground to hiking. Great place to have a picnic or meditate. The guide I met was very knowledgeable and helpful. BTW, there are real bathrooms with doors AND running water. WELL MAINTAINED

This is a beautiful, large and well kept to take a walk around and enjoy nature. The little stream under the bridge provides nature noise.The bathrooms are clean, there is picnic tables, grills, potable water and pavilion for parties.This park is a gem and the beautiful wedding gazebo just compliments the area.During the summer there is a movie showing in the park.On the sunny afternoons the trees provide lots of shade.

Its a peaceful place to go and think or relax. I like to go there and kick back and read a novel or two. Fun for the family and if you enjoy hiking this is the place for you.

Lived here all my life and never knew this little treasure existed. My nephew just had his wedding here. Beautiful! Lovely spring flowing through the park. Great place for kids (supervised of course because of the spring).

Best park in San Diego even though you pay $3 to park. Mountain Lion spotted there in December 2019. Extremely knowledgeable volunteers. Year round artesian fed creek. Scenic, yet not too far from town.

The park was beautiful but the rangers are soo rude, they interrupted our wedding to ask who is going to pay for parking which was only $30

Great place plenty of trails and safe I am 12 and I love hiking and running and as far as I know they have two main trails one is steep which I loved the other one was fairly flat very easy to get lost every time you make a turn make sure to make a suck out of rocks or remember which way you turned

Its obviously part of the plan to make a nice recreation & event area for surrounding area. Parking looks a bit skimpy for big event though. Having said that appears nicely kept & there are hiking trails though watch out for mud & puddles after the rain.

This place is stroller (off road) friendly. Such a peaceful walk. Kids playground is great and is fenced which keeps the kids inside the playground area.

Lots of shaded areas during day! Great set up for outdoor venue...only problem is.....Tarantulas come out at night! A little unnerving if you dont like spiders! Lol.. Regardless the venue I went to was just beautiful and weather permitting perfect. P.S. Bathroom path NOT well lit. Nor was there lighting to get to path at night to parking lot. Tarantulas in bathroom too! But...they wont hurt u!

Huge, clean, tons of parking, multiple swing sets, almost unlimited picnic benches, huge grills, gazebo, stream, secluded, baseball fields, and tons of hiking trails. The definition of a hidden gem.

Nice, quiet on weekdays when I have gone. Clean bathrooms. My husband said it was too quiet and empty for him but I liked it. $3 entry fee.

We attended a beautiful wedding ceremony at the park. The grassy are that was used as the venue for the exchanging of the vows was beautiful and then we had dinner and dancing up under one of the big gazebos. Great choice for a secluded beautiful spot for the wedding!

I came here with my family for a barbecue, and we all loved it. The nature of the park makes you want to just build a tent and stay there, so much beautiful things and so much peace. The staff are so kind and gave us great customer service, they also keep the park nice and clean. I have never seen public restrooms as clean as the ones inside this park. This is for sure the place to host a special event, because there is nothing better than to celebrate a special moments in such beautiful place. As the other reviews said this place is the gem of East County.

Love this park..if kids cant go in the creek anymore, maybe they could do a guided tour to let the kids learn about the habitats while getting to explore the creek a little

This is the nicest county park I have ever been to. Even the bathrooms are nice, well as far as public park restrooms go that is! The grounds keeping is fantastic, always well maintained. Its a huge park, and there are even hiking trails to go on near the back near the ball fields.

Nice park. Nice little play ground, picnic tables, new looking bathrooms. There is even nice large gazebos plus a fancy one with nice green grass around it. Some little hiking trails and i even saw a baseball area and horse shoes. Plenty of parking. $3 for day use well worth it.

This is a nice park. Horse shoe pits and one barbecue grill area. Park is well kept. Weve been coming here for years. Make sure you bring a few dollars for the small entrance fee, they wont have change.

A nice park. I like stopping here to walk my dogs.They have a very interesting experiment going on with porous pavement (asphalt & concrete), which I found fascinating. Besides the display sign explaining it, it tells you which parking lots have the various pavements, so you can examine the porous vs non-porous pavements right next to each other.Theres a $3 charge to get in, but you get in free if youre a Senior. Cant remember if the free entry applies to military or not.

We were waiting for our RV to get fixed and spent the whole day there. Beautifully kept park, with great hiking trails. The bathrooms are the cleanest I have ever seen in a county park. There is also a little cafe next door. The rangers were kind as well. So worth the $3 we payed for a day of nature and fun!

We went for an outdoor wedding and it was nice. It was a hot day triple digits but a nice breeze and we were under the gazebo. It was catered and the food was good. I know the couple was on a budget and overall it was a nice wedding. Something to keep I the back of your mind. The park had everything.

The playgrounds are small, but there are lots of tables. Theres a lot to see and explore.

I love the park, nice clean, swinging. The only bad thing is people that live in CA should not have to pay to get into the park, its great to take a lunch on a sunny day.

The park was super nice! Although it was a very hot day, the many trees and nice breeze kept everyone fairly comfortable. The ranger kept patrolling and we had no problems. Not too busy either. Bathrooms and playground available.

Lots of hiking opportunities. Beautiful views. Flynn Peak and Silverdome Peak are strenuous treks, but the view from the top is totally worth it.

If you like the great outdoors, then this is your park. If you dont like walking, trees and mountains... Then dont come here!

Beautiful park and place to walk around. Trails, waterfall, gazebo, two restrooms, and plenty of shade. On a weekday the place was nearly empty. I assume it gets more crowded on the weekend when people are having parties

Great, big open park with plenty of tables and eating areas. There are two playgrounds. One for smaller children and a bigger one for kids ages 5+. The best part, however, is the creek that runs through the entire park. Parking is $3.

San Diegos own Central Park! Our kids LOVED playing in the shallow stream in their rain boots. Nice big rocks to climb and a few playgrounds. Have $3 cash on you for parking.

A hidden gem in East County. Beautiful trees provide shade in the warmer months. We love the little stream that runs through the park. A perfect place for a picnic.

Love this park. It has adult size swings, as well as the kind you can put your toddler in. Parents can also fit on slides with their little one. Lots of parking for a small fee.

It was so peaceful here with the different types of trees and the stream. It is a great place to have a picnic.

This park is great: theyve got lots of open spaces for games (e.g., Ultimate frisbee); playgrounds for the kids (my daughter loves coming here for a Saturday afternoon); and barbecue grills for get-togethers with family/friends. They do charge admission (think its $2 or $3) unless you have a disabled plate or placard (I prefer to call it my A-list parking pass). This is a fun park, and Id highly recommend it. FYI, the playground for the younger kids is located at the end of the road...enter the park and just follow the road. My daughter is four and loves it (think the recommended age range for that playground is 2-5 years).

Nice park area and plenty of parking. Also, it has a playground and bathrooms. If you are there and the sun is low in the horizon, it got pretty dark in the restroom, since it looked like there were no lights in inside.

Great place for picnics, wedding, BBQs, and family gatherings. Ferry quiet, secluded and off the beaten path of some of the bigger parks like Balboa park
