Its a beautiful place surrounded by forest and animals. Great place for kids and families. Had to make resv to be there and they were super careful. Following every rule, wash hands, wear mask get hands sanitized before entering. Sitting only 3 at table. 6 ft rule and all staff with mask hand you a box lunch. Very impressed. Grounds kept well groomed and staff friendly and helpful making sure we would see what the 4 h park history was.
Try their Sunday lunch buffet that occurs between mid August through November. They serve lunch between 11:30a and 1:30p and cost $14.50 (Cash or checks only), which seem a little high, but the food is excellent and it supports a first class organization/facility. Full buffet includes fruit bar, salads, entree, sides, deserts and beverages. Service is friendly and excellent. We took s drive around the facility and it is quite impressive. Definite worth considering for conferences and attending summer camp.
Well prepared for large concert and crowd attending. U of Ga facility w/State & local security. Well supported; staffed; and provisioned.
Such a beautiful place! Theyve replaced many of the old cabins with beautiful and roomy new cabins and built a new dining hall. Very nice!
Rock Eagle Mound is one of Georgia’s six ancient Indian Mounds. We had already visited the big three: Etowah, Kolomoki, and Ocmulgee Mounds. This mound is unique in that it is an effigy – a massive pile of rocks in the shape of a bird. Though called Rock Eagle, many scholars believe the bird represented is actually a buzzard or vulture – birds of significance in early Native American beliefs about death. The mound is located just north of Eatonton, GA.We walked up to the tower at the base of the effigy to get a better look. The eagle is so huge that from the ground it really looks like a shapeless pile of rocks. It’s only when you get up high that you can see the impressive figure. Making it even more impressive is when you realize it was built 1000-3000 years ago by men & women dragging these thousands of rocks in from miles away on deer skins.
Beautiful scenery. Comfortable and clean facilities. Friendly staff, and great food. These things are the reason theyve earned 5 stars.
Amazing historical site. Great Sunday brunch, only select weekends during the year
Good learning field trip for kids. Amenities are a little older.
Mens spiritual retreat atmosphere healthy environment and staff.
Our conference (Georgia Bahá’í Summer School 2019) was greatly enhanced by this great facility. I would highly recommend this Center for any group planning a conference, school session or seminar. It’s a state of the art facility with great accommodations for all age levels.
I always enjoy seeing this place and I still have my name carved out on the wood from 20 years ago
Enjoyed our trip. Great food and super leaders. Facilities were wonderful.
I get to do dpa here, people are very nice!
Love this place took many a field trips there!
The catered food here is great. This is a good location for events or training. I have many memories here as a member of 4-H has a child.
Always enjoy coming to Rock Eagle. Facilities are well maintained and staff is wonderful!
Its okay good could be better selection wasnt slot to choose from and it was the same things every day
Here for a 4H event, beautiful place, cabins are a little old and um, campy... But other buildings are very nice and modernized except for the auditorium which is dated, but holding up well. Seems well have one at camp here this summer.
Food wasnt as good as people said it would be but over all everything was amazing there I really recommend you to go there.
I have no idea what goes on down there but I am gust a kid give it a five star thank you.
Rock Eagle is a beautiful facility for camps or meetings. The new cabins are very nice - they have six rooms in each with a living room in the center. One of the rooms has two twin beds and a mini fridge, and the other five rooms have two bunk beds in each room. All rooms have a bathroom with a toilet, shower and sink. Great place for a company retreat.
It has meeting rooms, cabins to accommodate overnight stay, swimming pool and area to play softball. The family reunion was accommodated.
Nice place to hike and get away. Not too far from the city.
WRW is everything. Rock Eagle is great for spiritual & nature retreats. The upgraded cabins are well worth the added cost. The food served in the cafeteria is really good, staff could do a better job of refreshing items but the small walk up the hill is worth it
My daughter’s first camp experience and she loved every second.
This place is awesome. Their capital improvement project was done perfectly. Cabins are top notch on a picturesque piece of sprawling land. This is a great place for a group retreat. As far as the effigy... I will leave that up to you to decide.
Great facility. The New cabins are great, however the old cabins have had a history of mold, ants, and disrepair on the windows and their screens. It will be 5 stars when they finish renovating all of the old cabins.
Great place. Their buffet was very good!
Beautiful place, adequate lodging and facilities, friendly staff
Great educational retreat. Facilities are well equipped and maintained.
Cabins need to be updated. And spider webs everywhere. But overall nice people.
Great campground. Enthusiastic workers. Every child should get to experience 4H camp at Rock Eagle.
An excellent camp compound for 4H and other activities. If your child has a chance to go for a camp or join 4H, I highly recommend doing so. The site offers cabins for campers, hiking, a swimming pool with a water slide, a lake, canoeing, seminars and other learning opportunities for campers covering everything from botany to corporate stewardship. Its a great place for kids, teachers, volunteers, and fun.
Went there for a womens retreat and was absolutely pleased. The facilities were very clean and the cafeteria and their staff was excellent. Its a great way to get a group together and have a wonderful time
I was amazed at these facilities. Very impressive.
The cabins were nice and clean, food was ok. They have alternative meals for vegan and vegetarian people.
Good food. Beautiful facility. Just had at good time overall. We visited 4days three nights for the for the Volunteer of the southern states conference
I came here with my school a few years ago and I still wish they would let me go again. Its an unforgettable trip, a trip of a lifetime, if you ask me. Food is great, cabins are so very comfortable, and the rock eagle, the canoeing, the hikes, the creatures you see, all of it provides an excellent experience, a chance to really see wildlife and nature. Love it here.
Beautiful place, cabins are very nice but individual doors to bedrooms do not lock. Swimming pools, lakes for canoeing or fishing. Dining hall serves meals but snacks will be needed also so please remember to bring your own. Fire pits for campfires at night and s’mores are great at this time.Very beautiful and peaceful.
Sad that the pools were always down but its a cool place to be when youre young. I miss my camp days
The perfect, safe environment for kids to take those first steps into independence!
The views of nature are very serene and there is not much cell signal so you are forced to experience the nature, however, the majority of the cabins are utterly terrible. The bunks are small, with rock hard springs, no blankets or pillows are provided and the sheets are nasty, there is an abundance of insects and bugs within the cabins themselves, and the showers and bathrooms are just disgusting. The food was also not fantastic, a little better than school cafeteria food, but still not even close to good. There are, however a few nice cabins of which I had the pleasure of staying in during my last visit: these cabins are much much better, almost hotel quality, with good beds, a very nice bathroom, and a nice lounge/ common room area. Once all of the cabins are update. I think this center will be a nice area.
Attended as a chaperone and had a blast! There are various activities to keep your 4Her busy!
This 4 H Center is beautiful. I loved my stay on the property. The staff were very helpful. I cant wait for my next visit.
Annual CTI State Leadership Conference (student conference w/ competitive events)
My son went with his class at school and had a blast. He is still talking about it weeks later
Had a meeting, it is great for Sunday brunch but look to website for dates and times
Beautiful site, very clean and groomed grounds and buildings. Staff are accomodating friendly and helpful.
Truly wonderful place. The staff goes above and beyond their job requirements to ensure you have a great time there. The grounds are very well maintained, the cabins were emaculate and the food was exceptional. The summer camps for kids is awesome. My boys had a blast.
I loved it but i wish it was longer because it is so expensive. My cabin was 49 and the 2nd pool was right behind my cabin!GO SHAWNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES( I went again and I got cabin 45! SO FUN!!!!)
I love 4-H this year I go to go to DPA and one time I hurt my leg and they were so nice and I just love Rock Eagle!
Great camp. Many activities. Good staff. However cabins were not amazing. Some dirty and older. However only slept there so didn’t spend much time inside.
Great facility for having large crowd events.
My granddaughter loved Rock Eagle! She says it was awesome, the food was great and she had loads of fun. You dont get as much sleep, but the activities make up for it! The cabins hold 20 kids and 2 leaders. 4 kids sleep on 2 bunks in each room. Really, it is educational, too. Kids learn to sail, zip line and canoe, learn about wildlife, and about the Native American tribes who lived in Georgia.
They teach you lots of new things
Amazing place to visit. Has a lot of fun activities and amazing people you will never forget.
Came on a school camping trip. Great staff. Really knowledgeable and engaged the students.
We go here for their Sunday lunch which they have during the Spring and Fall. They have the best fried chicken I have ever eaten plus much more. I cant wait for them to get started again. Nice place to meet friends for lunch.
Great place to go especially when youre in 4-H obviously cuz the 4-H Camp but its a great place to go theyve got a pool they got two pools actually one has a water slide and a diving board section specifically for going off the diving board only and they got the section with the waterslide were basically all you have to do is keep out of the flow of the water slide and thats pretty simple you just dont go near the water slide and they different depths the shallowest I think is 4 feet deep I dont remember how deep is the deepest part is the lake its not like if you just able to if your 4 feet tall and youre barely keeping your head above the water and youre walking along the bottom you just going to fall into the five foot section show me probably wont happen if youre treading water if you dont know how to tread water youre still fine because its a gradual slope its very gradual its not very sudden at all unless youre going directly from the normal everyone gets to swim free swim to the diving board section where you could many possibilities of injuries there so I wouldnt recommend swimming there unless youre the one diving off the diving board or jumping off diving board whatever you want to call it for safety reasons obviously and theyve got 6 rooms for cabin really great theres felt for bunks per room in the new cabins maybe three bunk beds per room in the older cabins and theyve got like herpetology theyve got archery to God canoeing theyve got free time hey have I forgot what it was called but its like birds study birds or something like that and theyve got a lot of stuff they have Lake ecology and they have Tribal meetings which I dont think I dont know for sure if they have them for like if youre going is family or not cuz Ive never gone with my family but its a really cool place to go and theyve got at least one Trail and theyve got concessions they have like a gift shop type thing and not to mention the cafeteria food is amazing like the chicken alfredo oh my gosh its so good why did I say now Im hungry sorry about how long is this its just like really good for the good food the chicken alfredo has mushrooms in it and I didnt even know because he cant even taste them in the only reason I noticed I know this is because I was just talkin people in my cabin and then shes like oh yeah its got mushrooms in it and Im my mind is blown I didnt realize I hate mushrooms and knowing that I ate mushrooms is weird to me because like I hate mushrooms looks like I ate them and didnt realize thats how freaking good at it I dont know how they make its just so good list the only bad thing I will say about it is that they dont really have much Variety in their breakfast foods but lunch and dinner its pretty much rape very wide variety there
Great place to visit
This is a very diverse organization that still espouses the beliefs and ideas from pre 1980. It is wonderful to see this generation learning something more than me and my wants are most important.
Worst experience ever hate it bad day
Attended an awesome 2-day Forestry Seminar sponsored by GEORGIA HEIRS PROPERTY LAW CENTER.Very informative and worthwhile program.
Cannot say enough about this organization that helps grow our young people into leaders. If you haven’t been to Rock Eagle in a while I highly suggest a visit as it is better than ever.
Visited for DPA! AMAZING staff and facilities were super clean.
This facility is amazing! So nice!
The rooms are nice but they beds have bed bugs and the teachers have attitudes for no reason
I have special dietary needs and the last time I was here I couldnt find anything but a roll that I could eat. For the price to get in I thought it was outrageous. If I wasnt there for a family event, I wouldnt have been there. There are better places to eat for a lot cheaper.
I liked the new buildings and the lake but the old buildings look like the projects. The bunk beds in the new cabins are wobbly. Nice place to stay if you are in a nice cabin. Very hard to get good WiFi reception out there. Very dark roads also, so go during the day otherwise you will get lost.
Went for Sunday lunch and it did not disappoint! Lots of choices and I loved how it was set up. Only thing is they do not accept cards-cash only!
Therapeutic. Nature...its good for the soul.
Kids learned a lot participating in the activities; I enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful surroundings -- couldnt believe I was so close to Atlanta.
I remember going here for a Feild Trip, We went on a Hike and it was crazy fun, even had a pillow fight in the cabin at some point.
Spent many summers at 4H camp!
Fun place to see!
Food is plentiful and very good!!! Service very attentive.
Im a 4Her myself and this year as a blue string was amazing, the zip-line, climbing wall, and swing shot was probs the coolest thing Ive done all summer! And I went to Disney World a week before camp. I hope to come back next year
Great weekend get away with family and friends.
When large 4H events occur, a minority of attendees believe they are immune to being struck by a vehicle. They just stand there, in the way. Prepare to use your horn to announce your presence.
Not easy to find.
My home away from home
Worked on new construction every thing done professional clean work area enjoyed experiance
Love the facilities!!! Food sucks, but everything is awesome!!
I went last year this place is AMAZING! The new cabins are beautiful! I had so much fun. I would recommend anyone to go.
Great place for the kids, very educational...
The cabins were really nice and everything was fine. Some of the food was a little undercooked sometimes like the bacon and the sweet tea is reaaaally sweet, but overall this place was awesome!
One of the most awesome places Ive ever been. Thanks
The new cabins were super nice. I went on a school trip and enjoyed our experience. The food was good too!
