I took my family here before the pandemic. I spoke with the curator for over an hour. He actually went to school with Pete Best. the original drummer for the Beatles. It was a pretty cool place and the fact that the guy running it had a Liverpool accent and could tell us stories about seeing the Beatles play in the Cavern Club as teen was awesome. They have John Lennons long underwear on display! Such a cool place and its free!!
Fun stop in a cool town. I’m sorry that I forget the host’s name, but he was excellent. We talked about the Beatles and other artists, too. I was probably only there for 30 minutes, but I’m glad I went. There is no admission fee; it runs on donations. Based on what these collectors items must cost on top of rent, etc., I feel okay that I dropped $10 in the bucket but it was probably worth more now that I think about it. If you dig the Beatles and you’re in Dunedin you must go!
Small but free! If you’re in Dunedin and want to see evidence of the mass marketing machine that was behind the Beatles, definitely drop in. Beatles themed paddleballs, ballpoint pens, adhesive tape and even mothballs. Yes, the Fab4 had official mothballs in their merchandising strategy.
Unique place to find in the area, worth the visit for fans or all. Artist gallery in same building.
I went there with my neice Cindy, Colin the curator and Cindy both went back and forth on there knowledge of the Beatles, along with personal stuff from Colin . great guy. He made our visit extra special. Thank YouSee ya soon
Worth a trip for all Beatles fans. Its basically part of a private collectorsBeatles memorabilia collection; lots of neat stuff, some weve seen before & others we hadnt.Free, and you can even dress up like a Sgt Pepper bandmate!
Wow, Love, Love, Love! Amazing memorable place. Visited today with my sister. (7/27/19) The Beatles Museum is more than what I expected after seeing it on FOX News with Charlie Belcher! Pleasant attendant! Brought the best memory of my teenage years. I lived in NYC when The Beatles arrived and of course played hookey that day along with hundreds of fans to see them from Central Park across the hotel they were staying.
Fantastic collection of Beatle memorabilia! The curator was so helpful and so knowledgeable. A great place to take Beatle-loving visitors to the area.
