So Beautiful Dubuque lucky to have! Everyone working there is so nice!
Small but impactful. There were 2 Smithsonian collections on display when we visited. We also got in free for the winters farmers market. Every Thursday in 2019 entrance to the exhibits is free due to a donation given to the museum. The museum is family friendly with new exhibits, cultural shows, and craft project days for children.
I called to purchase a gift card for my dad for Fathers Day and the employee who helped me went above and beyond! She was so friendly, gave me great options, and made sure it was in the mail promptly. My dad was so excited and loves his experience there!
A small scale art museum with interesting exhibits that left me wishing it was a bigger museum able to offer more.
So great to take people here and suprise them with the quality of the permanent collection as well as the temporary shows.
Went to see the Artthur Geisert display and thoroughly enjoyed it. Their other art displays are impressive for an art museum their size.
Dead Artists Series is amazing.
Great art but especially great staff. They are the best
Prpblematic scheduling made for less than pleasant time. Interesting small permanent collection.
Wonderful museum. This community puts alot of effort into cultivating their art scene. Dubuque was top notch and the volunteers at the museum were friendly.
The museum is a great place to see beautiful art and culture.
Small for an art museum with ( in my opinion) okay art. If you are bored its not expensive so maybe check it out.
Grant Wood paintings were gorgeous. Loved the hand crafted items as well. Such a welcoming place and staff.
....a really nice space and with an inspiring permanent collection. Grant Woods pieces were very informative.
Nice little art museum. Knowledgeable staff that love the art which makes it a nice experience.
An art asset that should not be over looked. Awesome displays and wonderful special events.
It was interesting exept it under construction only a small portion of the museum was open to the public
According to the Dubuque Visitors Guide 2013, this museum is free (pages 13 and 34). There is a cost for non-members. I know the volunteer asked us for six dollars each. She was unable to run my debit card for some reason so she let us go in for free. She gets five stars - excellent customer service.I am glad that we didnt have to pay, though. There is incredibly little to see in the museum, at least on the day we visited (11/13/13). They had a few works by Karen Kurka Jensen, which were very nice and a few by Grant Wood. They had fewer still works by a handful of other artists. All the artworks are in two small rooms and a short walkway on the second level. There was a much bigger room, but it was being repainted and was empty of artwork. Why charge anything when half the museum is closed off? If the volunteer had been able to run my card, I probably would have asked for my money back.
Nice... Small but nice.
Went for a class on boot making. Really interesting, plus the art around the gallery was super duper.
The exhibits were wonderful, staff was very polite, helpful, and friendly. Definatley will come again!
We go to the museum for kids programs a few times a month. They have a few small gallery spaces and switch the exhibits every few months. The staff is very friendly and the space is elegant.
Cheap but kinda small. Its good for a half hour but not super high quality
Only a few different artist collections... most of them were very similar portraits. The portraits are small size.
Nice museum. Staff was friendly and passionate.
Had an amazing time and the people there are super friendly.
Decent little Museum lots of local art and history
Pretty nice small style art museum with all very interesting and creative pieces.
That is a great little museum. What makes it great is that it is well curated.
Small gem of an art museum with staff that are so friendly and warm that youll want to chat instead of look.
The photos were nice but it isnt a museum but rather a gallery for a few artists. Very small and not much for information or history on the art/artist
They have a pretty interesting collection of art from Grant Wood. When I was there they have a very good traveling collection.
Small town feel with exquisite fine art
Small town museum with big town museum experiences. So awesome
Attended Special Event. Portrait Exhibit is great.
