Furman Park

As a family, we used to go to this park as a kid. We had many Father’s Day picnic here with family and friends. Good memories...but now it’s more beautiful than ever!!! We love the improvements made and now my wife and I enjoy this park weekly....

The park is clean and I like the walking trail. Plenty of space to sit and relax or you can play tennis. I will definitely come back.

They did some new canopys above the seating areas & some nice Family Grilling areas & nice walking path. Some stationary work out stuff... cool upgrades... I thought they were gonna make a new playground for the children... But, this is nice as well.

Really nice mellow park. Its one of my favorites to visit occasionally.

This park is a great place to get so many fun activities done. You can find a running/walking trail, swings, basketball & tennis courts, baseball. Theres also gazebos and grills where you can bbq. This is the place to bring family for relaxing, exercise, passing time, playing games and have a fun.

Ive only been to this park a few times I like sitting under the big trees and enjoying the shade in the summertime.. what i notice is that has been renovated it looks better than what it did before and also people like walking around its dirt track its a good Park enjoy with your family and friends or whoever highly recommend...

I absolutely love this park and I have personally seen the city clean the kids play ground and it’s dog park friendly just make sure you clean after your fur baby two laps around is a mile and the trail is dirt don’t recommend wearing white shoes.

Nice landscape, great walking trail, a great place to have a picnic. My dog loves walking there. Super doggy friendly.

Beautiful park. But a lot of people misuse the basketball court and tennis courts by doing exactly what is prohibited of doing. Its so annoying when you are trying to play tennis and people are in there playing soccer. Others are roller skating in the basketball court while people are waiting to play basketball. Its really sad when people dont follow the rules.

Let me just say that the remodeling in terms of play ground, bathrooms, and adding more canopies was beyond great! The only thing I didnt like was the fact that the mens bathroom was remodeled but still has 1 stall!!! Really??! And for that reason I give it 4 stars.

The city of Downey remodeled all the parks and what they did at Furman Park is the best.

Wa only there to meet someone to sign documents, but the park was clean. Parking lot was convenient, tables were available for what I needed, playgrounds were closed.

Ok. THE PARK IS STILL CLOSED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION.SUPPOSED TO OPEN THIS SPRING BUT DID NOT.HOPE IT OPENS THIS SUMMER AS IT HAS GREAT WALKING PATHS.

My 3 yr old son calls this the cool park. We take a drive from Paramount because it seems safer and he seems to enjoy this one more than our local parks. I am not exactly sure what is so special but you can feel a difference.

Great little park. The city does a great job keeping it clean. The wife and I have impromptu picnics throughout the summer and its always comfortable.

Furman Park is an awesome place to do some exercise. Their concrete path is literally like a big track and they have some awesome stairs for a good workout. I visit this park every morning, sometimes I come for a walk with my family at night and Im surprised by how friendly the atmosphere is at any time of the day. My teenagers enjoy hanging out at this park with their friends, they even visit it to do their homework and relax. The playground is great for kids to get their energy out. The bathrooms are always in mint condition and cleaned on a regular basis. It has pretty good parking and every once in a while the ice cream man will pass by and you can enjoy a treat for the heat. What I like the most about this park is that there arent many dogs around and I have never seen a dog without a leash, I mention this because I ́m afraid of dogs and that normally keeps me away from visiting parks but not here at Furman Park.10930 Myrtle StDowney, CA 90241

My Dog just Loves to go to this park... He really enjoys walking around and I can see this, because he has a smile on his face... Plus when we leave and on the way home and he gets home he is still happy...

My husband and I attended a short play held at the museum. The live art was interesting and thought provoking. The smaller size of the museum made more a more intimate performance. We enjoyed both the venue and entertainment. A recent visit to the museum website revealed other unique events. I wish I lived closer.

Great family Park

Its on the smaller side, but it seems well maintained. Theres exercise equipment and a track to run. A couple baseball fields, tennis courts, a couple playground areas and several areas to grill. I havent met the staff here, so I cant comment on that.I do know it closes at 10:00pm, which is better than other parks that close at sunset. Recently, the cops are fairly consistently checking between 10:00-11:00pm to see that people are out of the park after closing.For those that play pogo, this is an ex raid location. It also has several spots to spin (I believe 3 without including the gym).

Love this park I take my one year old son twice a week. They have a big kids playground and a smaller toddler playground. The only thing I didnt like is that I saw two big roaches by the playground that kind of freaked me out a bit. Other than that awesome place to go for a run and take the kids to have some fun. Playground is also a few steps away from the parking lot.

When I decided to get back into a walking routine, three things about the location were important to me: somewhere I wouldnt be accosted by a creep, attacked by a dog or hit by a car. And I found all three in abundance at the Furman Park Walking Trail. I walk in the morning anywhere between 7:30 am and 9:00 am and Ive always found a high volume of walking traffic that makes me feel safe from any stranger danger, Ive yet to see a scary pet among the dogs being walked and Im obviously not going to run into a car on a walking trail ... or vice-versa.

The park needs updating and better grassy lawns. There is a nice community center there. Also, there is a tree lined walk path and sports areas.

While others were fighting traffic and waiting for tee times in Hilton Head, we were able to experience one of the best kept golf secrets in South Carolina . Located off the beaten path, about an hour from Hilton Head or Historic Savannah, iIts a quiet drive up 321 and and over to 601 into Furman. Penny Branch is a lovely family owned golf course which has hosted many celebrities due to its first rate conditions and fairways. Its a challenging and engaging course with reasonable cost. Best of all is the service and the feeling that you are welcomed and treated like family. The drive is definitely worth the drive and the play. Dont miss this hidden gem!!!

I like this park. Its been more improved in the past years. I come here alot to jog and train and sometimes meditate. I kind of wish people would pick up after their dogs more. Still, doesnt personally bother me much.

This is my kids fave park! They have a kid friendly exercise station outside by the playgrounds. So parents can work out while watching their kids play or (there is an age limit posted) the kids can come over and join in the fun. We go at night so hardly anyone else is there. The kids play ALL over the gym since its their favorite. Lol Shhhh, dont tell!

It was perfect to walking around with my dog and this park is very nice has exercise equipment to use for all people who likes to use after running or before very clean

Bathrooms dont get checked,very dirty. Toilet paper on the floor, feces on the wall, no toilet paper to use, cobwebs on the wall, sink doesnt look like its been cleaned no towels to dryer hand and the smell was awful. The park is clean and the kids playing equipment is new.

Great place to run. Has a nice track around the park and it seems pretty calm in the evening. It smells like dog piss around the front but all good afte that. Its well lit and felt safe.

We had fun at the park but the grass is ugly and I been to worst areas with greener grass. Its sad to see their onditions in a wealthy area.

Very spacious. Play area for bigger kids and one for smaller kids. Lots of benches. Love the lil dirt walkway that goes around the whole park.
