Really fantastic place! I was so surprised, I’ve never really been a bird person but this place changed my mind. The bird show was awesome and the aviary where you could feed the birds nectar was great. Whole family thoroughly enjoyed it! Much bigger than it looks from the car park and great that there’s an indoor play area for rain spells!

It’s small but it’s nice. They have some good summer camps and if you want to walk somewhere cool with a lake and some off road trails. This is the perfect place for you.

Absolutely picture perfect fall scene today as I took a quick stroll around the water in Hidden Lake forest preserve today. Marshes and prairie surround the brackish yet beautiful lake, with the DuPage river flowing nearby adding a riparian element to the preserve which is contiguous to the Morton Arboretum.

Gotta hike way to the back to see some pretty old ruins. It’s near the true hidden lake. Neither of the big lakes are hidden. Those are meadow and eagle lakes. Tons of history if you dig deep.

It was a serendipitous discovery... A hidden sanctuary, worth visiting if youre in the area.

Hidden lake is beautiful! Great place for a walk and its very well kept. There are areas for fishing as well as picnic areas.

We go there everytime we crave some fresh air and some exercise. It has two huge lakes and two loops. Theres a shaded area for picnics and Ive seen people fishing here as well. Theres ample parking space. The park is clean except for all the dog poop, the dog owners leave behind.

A great way to get your daily steps in by having a nice walk or run around two lakes, one in the sunshine and other in shade. Clean gravel path. You may spot a heron or deer on your walk.

Full sun 1 mile loop around the lake on the crushed gravel is a perfect place to end the day. May even see a turtle if you are looking.

Beautiful place for a walk. The big lake is about a mile around it. It is very open so its a good place to get some much needed sunshine. It can get pretty windy though since there are no trees.

Beautiful trail to walk with family and children. Both of the bridges are safe guarded by fence, so you wont have to worry to much while walking with your kids!FYI, there are lots of open areas here so itMakes for little shade. We like going out here on the cooler days!

Like I said, not a lot of tree cover so bring water and a water bowl for your dog. It will get hot. We found as spot or two for the dog to swim a little bit to cool off. Nice place.

Lush and green right now, water looks clean and refreshing, yup now swimming, yet it is refreshing to the soul to walk around it and get some fresh air.

Very well maintained trail and park. They cut the vegetation back at least several feet to several yards from the path, which is great. The trail is hard packed gravel and nice and wide. There are two one mile loops, both around lakes. The northern lake has a pretty and new park, perfect for parties and BBQs.

Fun walk and nice shirt paths. Great place for doing under 2 miles. Or you can loop both sides and get a little over 3 miles.

Honestly, its not much of an escape. The clammering of trucks going by on 53 and the repeating parking lot announcements from the Walmart across the street permeate the air and ruin any and all feeling of serenity

Nice park. Worth picnicking and hiking through. Clean. Well-paved at Route 53 entrance.Boating... go elsewhere. I went kayaking here. Too small for that. It is more of a pond than a lake. Blackwell and Mallard Lakes (both DuPage) are much better for boating. This lake is more like a pond. You need to walk down the paved trail to put a kayak into the water. A bit of a walk.I cannot write about fishing, except that I did see some Bluegill jumping.

I take my dog here weekly to walk the trails. It is well maintained and there are two lakes circumferenced by trails. The one nearest the parking lot is mostly grasslands and has lots of people jogging on the gravelled path. The other goes off into the woods a bit and is more peaceful and relaxed for those who like to wander or fish.

Great for family hikes!

After almost an hour of searching, I managed to find the lake. Now its my turn to hide!

I had fun here. Me and my dad caught a three bass total using lures and he secured some nice bluegills. The hidden lake aspect is gorgeous, it is a deep lake but the fishing spots are few and far between. The ones that are open are choked out with invasive species such as buckthorn and honeysuckle. If those could be improved, it would be a fantastic spot. Apparently its deep as well, the middle I was told was tens of feet deep.

Very clean and tidy preserve. Great for a walk around the lake. Its peaceful here. Lots of birds in the trees and nice views since there are very few trees right up by the lake so you have far sight lines!

The main trails make a figure eight, and each lobe is ~1 mile long. The terrain is packed gravel, probably good enough for a road bike. Ive been here several times, and there are always many other people utilizing this preserve. It feels very safe and is a popular site for running, biking, dog walking, and fishing. There is a clean bathroom on site.

This is a beautiful spot for a walk. There is a paved path that winds around the lake. The day I went there was a kayak rental that offered kayaks for $6 for 30 minutes. This is a great location to enjoy the outdoors. Plenty of parking and good bathrooms.

Beautiful walk but people need to pick up after their dogs, there are dried turds all over the trails.

The DuPage county forest preserve has adopted a policy restricting public parking in publicly funded parking lots to vehicles registered to DuPage county addresses and driven by DuPage county residents.

The real hidden lake is also worth a trip! Pack your bug spray, but its worth it if you want to fish with kids or go for a walk/run.

Nice 2.3mile walking trails!

This forest preserve has beautiful wide paved trails for walking. There are also a few small pavilions with built in grills. Fishing is allowed, but at the main lake right at the entrance, there are only a VERY small number of places where you can access the lakes edge without passing through dozens of feet of 4-6 foot tall brush and weeds. We elected to find another lake to fish at, we did NOT check the southern lake or the DuPage river for access while there.

Beautiful, serene, quiet. A wonderful place to unwind.

The bathrooms are locked and they only have a porta potty which needed cleaning very badly.

A beautiful place for walk

My family had a lovely time walking the trails here. The main lake is mostly open, but the trails around the other smaller lake were shady. The day we went there were many dogs and families and even a few fisherman. The next time Im in the area I will definitely be back for a nice scenic outdoor walk or run.

Pleasant place to visit, fish or walk. Only noting that it has only those basic amenities, but thats okay. Good walking path along small lakes, and a bit a grassland.

This forest preserve really is a hidden lake and prairie in the middle of the burbs! Spectacular place for a stroll/walk/jog. Feels like your out in the country even though its just minutes from some of the busiest areas. Highly recommend anyone who enjoys getting out to check this place out!

This forest preserve os so nice, and small. I went here for a little picnic with my kids. We all had fun. I will be returning here soon!

I went there almost every day for a few months because I was taking class not far away. Every morning I was welcomed with a warm smile and they got to know me pretty well. Anytime Im in the neighborhood now I stopped by its like seeing an old friends. I would highly recommend this place they have really good breakfast, personal service, and a warm and cozy atmosphere!

It was a gorgeous day. Easter Sunday so not too crowded. Its a nice path for walking if you dont mind the sun.

I love this place! Its such a nice place to walk and relax. I have lived in Glen Ellyn for almost 10 years and I only started going here recently. The main path around the lake is very nice and breezy. Wear a hat though and some sunscreen because you get direct sunlight most of the day. There is another section, the hidden lake section that I love. I put my daughter in her wagon and we just stroll. Depending on the day, it can be busy with people, but not crowded. I wish there was a playground cause my daughter is 3 and doesnt really like going to parks with no playground and complains if we go too often, but thats her opinion lolz. All in all, try it out for yourself!

Nice respite from the city noise

This place is good but short. There are a few different paths. Each path is a mile or less. Well kept paths. Good for kids and dogs. Not good for long hikes if you’re looking for exercise and new scenery. It is in the sun mostly, no shady paths really. It’s near a highway, not good if you’re looking for a quite walk.

Great place for a walk, the hidden part is shaded and usually quiet. Some good fishing spots, and a great variety of fish. Not a whole lot of info about them though. Kept pretty clean, ample parking, the only downside is that during rush hour the traffic is heard readily. Lots of nice dogs, sometimes horses. Bathrooms, benches, gravel paths. The Walmart across the street has fishing gear and live bait. Nice little preserve.

No restaurants, 1 lonely bar, room was not nice, lobby is outdated, staff not pleasant, continental breakfast seemed old. Less than 1 star rating.

I go here every now and then to have a piece of mind .

OMG!!! We made a good choice. The food was amazing, the waitress was really nice, ( both, ), the owner/ cook came out ( floured up & all ), to greet us & said Thank u. This was a good experience. The place was cute & bathrooms clean. (Which is my petpive)This was our date night out. We will be back. Everyone should support small businesses.

Its a wonderfull place to stay at the early afternoon, running around in place near trees and the Du Page River, dogs are allowed but the owners dont clean their excrement and they (the dogs) fight with birds and amphibious.

As advertised. Beautiful lake hidden with a surrounding loop. Pretty, but not as big or majestic as other forest preserves in Dupage county. Recently added a canoe/kayak launch though I haven’t seen or used.

I am truly puzzled that anyone would call this place secluded. It is tightly nestled between two major roads, with most of the walking path directly paralleling one of those roads. The trail is peat-gravel loop, good for hikers and bikes, but has little shade. I get the impression this is more just a place for nearby homeowners to walk their dogs daily.There are flushing toilets at the north end of the parking lot.

Great little park among hustle and bustle Glen Ellyn. Fishermen are abound all your long. Joggers, walkers or bike riders have plenty of space on the wide crushed gravel trails. Civilians and picnic tables are there for picnics or just cracking open your laptop to do a little remote work. You can even get off the beaten path if you follow some of the dirt paths back into the forested area.

Nice to be out in nature even though youre not that far off the main roads. Great paths and history. Fun for kids and adults to ezplore

One of the best parks I think in Bolingbrook.

Very nice, new shed with running water plus electrical outlet for music,nice and clean bath room nice gravel pathway for walk. I never saw such beautiful forest park shed.
