Free admission. Sign at gate indicates it closes at dusk. 1 interpretive sign. 300 foot easy walk from parking lot to top of hill. Plan on 10-20 minutes.
My family in Montana lives directly next to this state park so of course we had to go check it out. Its not much more than a rocky cliff overlooking the town, but its really neat for what it is and it has historical value when it comes to the Lewis and Clark voyage so thats cool to learn as well. There arent really amenities or other things to do its a one trick pony sort of place, but its a great trick and for us as an added bonus we got to drive our ATV over there and that alone added a bit of fun to the whole experience.Either way a great park to visit if youre in the Dillon area like I was visiting family. Big fan of state parks and this one doesnt disappoint.
Neat little place to stop by is pet friendly and no fee to get in. Theres a few signs about the history there and a huge stone compass at the top of the hill. People let there dogs run free there from what I can tell. No shade. Can over look the town from there. Climb to the top is a little steep but not far. Wouldnt really call it a state park either
A outcrop you walk up and the views are great.
Nice quick little walk
Goregeous views, very informative history, not much space to walk
Fun! I love history. Didnt know this was there until we drove by.
Great place to stop for a walk and see a historic sight.
Looks pretty neat, but the vagabond camped out in the bathroom had my sister creeped out.
I nice short hike up to the gives a great view. Interpretive signs and pit toilets.
Short sweet
