Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest

The scenary is absolutely beautiful. Love being in there mountains. Always a great time.

My favorite place in Montana. Had a lodge near the Big Hole river. Sold it but keep coming back for the fly fishing solitude quiet and to have a Moose stand next to you in the river. Lots of the best ghost towns close by. Coolidge is worth the hike. The upper Wise river and Loopen are worth visiting. And the hot springs of course.

Great spot. Hard to get to creek. Clean, well-kept. Beautiful walk before dinner.

Absolutely beautiful and pictures just cant do this place justice. I cobbled together photos that all the family took and we just had an awesome time exploring this place. Montana in the summer is something to behold and we just love it here at this time of year. We are going to come back here sometime for sure, but even just spending one day trekking around is something we will remember for ages.Even my young children were enthralled and they are usually not very impressed by a lot of nature. The river, the mountains, the fields, all of it are just perfect. I almost always give state parks 5 stars and this will be another one. Its just hard to dock these places unless they are horribly unkempt and spoiled which ive yet to run into especially in Montana.Please visit here if youre ever in Montana I guarantee you will not regret it in the slightest.

Love this area! Finally got to ride my motorcycle through the Pioneer mountains Scenic byway and it was a treat in every way. Gorgeous scenery, decent roads, abundant wildlife. Everything was great and its in a remote enough location that I hardly saw another human being. Motorcycling at its best. I highly recommend it.

Incredible hike to Beehive Basin! Parking was a bit crowded but found street parking. Stunning wildflowers, well marked path, amazing views.

Camping was nice. Not much shade in the designated campground. Cool rocks for kids to climb on. Mosquitos were eating is alive. Definitely bring bug spray.

Lots of animals, little to no humans. There has been an increase in cars and truck though. Not too happy about that, but when youre in the mountains, you cant hear them. Best place for people that love wildlife and nature.

Lots of hikes around and great camping. Not having seen rock formations made from giant boulders before I was amazed. The forest is very beautiful and everything near the roads looks well maintained. The Rangers were also friendly when we drove by them.

Absolutely stunning. Chipmunks and frogs galore. Seen a bald eagle, heard an owl and kept an eye for bears. It was the best 3 day camping trip

Great place to do picture taking and to get away and enjoy the beauty in this world that GOD made for us all to enjoy.

Big Sky is hard to match, and this is coming from a guy who grew up near Steamboat. The town has had so much money pouring in, yet it keeps a welcoming small town vibe.

Why not go to an amazing place! 4x4 recomend.

Great forest, amazing recreation, you can tell the employees care about the trails and campground facilities.

Very nice drive on the I-15! Im a trucker, so I cant take the time to get out and enjoy it, but I plan on doing so next summer in my Jeep!

Beautiful place

One of the most pristine and diverse forests in the US. The peace and quiet out here is amazing, the locals are incredible, and the land management is top notch. The trails are well maintained, facilities clean, and the views are incomparable to anywhere else in the US. Absolutely recommend visiting the Beaverhead-Deerlodge.

This is the ghost town of Coolidge Montana in the Beverhead-Deerlodge national forest.. Only one building is intact enough to enter. You can also see parts of the old mining operations they had here.

Drove the road from Dewey to Melrose. Took us thru the mountains. Closest we felt to God. The views were phenomenal.

Enormous forest with great access to public lands. Encompasses Wilderness areas and multiple use with motorized use becoming a detriment. Needs more protection and better stewardship. Covers a variety of landscapes and forest types.stewardship. but

Wow, Big Sky is an understatement. Powder was deep and forest was nicely blended with open meadows. With patience once can see lots of wildlife here.

Great place to ski. Gondola ride has some spectacular views. Highly recommend it.

Clean, nice furniture, different things to look at and do.

Stopped at a gas station in Dillon locked keys in car the manager was able to get into my car through the window. She was quite friendly and helpful.
