Very nice park usually not real busy . Nice playground & shelters . Great view of the state Capitol photo opp for sure.

Nice quite shady spot to stop and rest under the trees. There is hiking trails and playgrounds for the little ones.

I was attending an activity here. There are cabins shelters playground and plenty of space to play for a large group. Plenty of nearby shade trees lawn kept well.

This is the city park that time forgot. It used to be a very popular place for family outings but for some reason the crowds all forgot about it. Sure, there are still a few people who know about it, but theres plenty of room for those who can find. Its beautifully kept, with huge, ancient pines, picnic tables and a shelter, plus playground equipment for the kids. Pioneer Park is an island of serenity in the heart of the Southside.

It was a good park, but they didnt have a basketball court for the boys so the kids had to do something else

Wide open space. A play ground, walking friendly. Look out point. Cooking areas.... Beautiful.. Great for family fun.

REALLY CROWDED on weekends. Drive slow and be cautious of children everywhere. Good luck finding a place to park. Besides that, an excellent park.

The road that leads to the park is under construction, so the park seems like its closed.

It is a very convenient and safe park to go to.

This park has one of the best views of downtown des moines in all of des moines however it is hidden in the back of the park so go all the way north and peek through the woods and youll see it. Also there are miles of atv trails thatll lead you all the way out of the park. Its actually a quaint decent oarj except wjen there are the occasional birthday party or reunion. Still it is a good place that is well upkept by park maintenance. It has maintained a good playground as well as the bathrooms are actually vlean most of the time...it is tucked away at the end of pioneer road and is usually onl y known by local neighborhood.
