A very unique bridge with an even more interesting story behind the bridge. You will not visit a bridge like this in very many places!Dawn and dusk are great times for photos here, and it also doubles as a great way to park over the river and walk into downtown.Part of the comprehensive bike trails around the city, you will be delighted walking across this bridge.

This bridge is always featured in picture of downtown Des Moines. Absolutely gorgeous bridge both day and night. Ive only recently discovered that there is actually a name to this bridge, and I love it even more now learning that it commemorates high achieving women of Iowa. The womens names can be found at the center of bridge. The bridge has a cool feature that the center cross-over section of the bridge is made out of glass, and you can see the Des Moines River through the glass.

The scenery is beautiful. So serene. I was walked on this bridge several times when I was at Iowa. I was there during fall, and the air breezing so cold. The sunrise wassss so amazingly beautiful from here. Missed the moment so much.

This bridge is nice to walk on, but men should be careful here. As soon as I stepped upon the bridge I could FEEL the power of pure unbridled estrogen and female strength. My fiance, the poor sweet man, collapsed on the spot. It was a year ago today. They told me hed recover, but they have no idea when. Hes been in a coma since. Occasionally I hear him whisper in his sleep like state shoes and hope grows again. All in all, 10/10 bridge. Would walk again.

Wonderful scenery of downtown Des Moines. Be mindful of the (small) parking lot off of 2nd Ave. it’s one way in and out. Someone blocked me while I was there. Then other people came along wanting to park and they had to back out of the lot because there’s no room to turn around. So - a great place to visit, just be mindful of the one lot.

This downtown bridge over the Des Moines River and dam, is dedicated to the Women of Des Moines whom advanced the careers of women in workplace, government & the arts. Whom started a non profit OR ministry to combat persons living without basic necessities. Playground on West bank, dog park to the North along riverbank. Great place to visit and renew

This is an awesome, still relatively new addition to downtown Des Moines. (Completed in 2010), this large bridge serves an important role and looks great. It is fun to just stand on it for a few minutes and admire the river and city skyline, especially at sunset.
