No real issues but for some reason my normally very active dog doesnt seem to ever want to run around and play here. I think it may be the total lack of grass or vegitation. I usually try to seek out dog parks with grass... Or at least an attempt at keeping grass growing, mostly to keep too much dust from gathering in my pups fur. Not my dog is too good to play in the dirt, its just too much dust triggers my asthma. I have had, on two occasions, felt one or two of the dogs were allowed to play too aggressively. It has a sign that says rough play but if it becomes obvious one of the dogs is not happy with the situation or seems fearful both owners should step in. There also seems to be a lot of folks here that mistake dog park for a place you can let your dog lose and pay no attention to what he/she is doing or how they are acting toward the other dogs and people in the park. Nice and big and a side for dogs that dont want to play but still like off leash time.
I have been here multiple times and I love it! Absolutely 5+ star worthy but my most recent trip was like being in a cat litter box. This shouldnt have to be the responsibility of the city workers or anyone else to clean up after you and your better halfs mess. Please try to clean up the poop, it will make it better for all of us. No one wants the little gremlin in my picture to step in pooooo!
Its free! Quite a bit of space and there are two areas. One for dogs with lots of energy and one for not. Bring old shoes because the place has a lot of sand and will get your shoes dusty.
Our first visit. Nice folks with great dogs. Marshall the corgi had a great time. Most folks bring water (we did) and were quite willing to share. A bit dusty…but that’s a minor point.
I guess this is more a rating of the culture of this dog park and the people who visit. Everyone is chill and still pays attention to their dogs. There isnt much seating, so people arent just looking at their phones and letting their dogs go nuts. Most people are actively engaged with each other and/or their dogs. There are rarely dog fights and if a dog is instigating, owners are quick to intervene. There are community water bowls but you should bring a water bottle and contribute. Plenty of loose tennis balls if you forgot to bring a toy. Made many friends here both human and animal ️
Pet friendly and so much room to walk your dog(s) Great atmosphere
Nice spot! Dont forget to bring water for your furry friend. Theres a high energy and low energy fenced area, which is a nice seperation
This is my go to dog park since moving to Denver. The same people usually go around the same time every day and there are a wide range of dogs at the park. Beautiful rainbows can be seen here often as well as incredible sunsets . My dog is a regular and looking to stay near this area so I can keep coming here. Only a few dog fights I’ve heard of or seen here so a pretty safe park with responsible owners. No water there though so bring a jug
Its nice, some shelter, a little far to walk from the parking lot. A wheelchair could get to it easily enough, the path is smooth and wide enough, but the sandy ground in the park would be a little difficult. Not a lot of people and dogs when I was there at 10 am and 6 pm
Take my furry kids here they love it.
Lowry is currently my favorite dog park in the Denver area. It is a large park with plenty of off leash room to roam. There is a high energy large area as well as a low energy dog area. Additionally there is a spot where your dog can learn tricks by jumping over stuff and so forth. I also like to take my dog up to the ridge on leash and watch the sunset over the mountains. Some great views can be had.
I was cycling by; I like the area. The park seems well situated and the surroundings are pleasant.
Relaxed feel, has not been crowded, free!
This a large dog park that doesn’t require a membership! We stopped here for our puppy when we were driving through Colorado. We parked by the houses and followed a trail to the park. This park lacks benches, a water fountain, poop bags, and shade. However there were a lot of friendly dogs there. I love how there were separate sections for high energy and low energy dogs instead of sizes.
With three separate areas this park is great for dogs who can easily get overwhelmed by too much activity. My little Shiba loves the agility side, and now that a very nice and concerned citizen used zip ties to close the hole there, its secure. The two main parts are sand/gravel, which can get in your shoes, but the dogs seem good with it. The agility part has rough grass.Partially because the park is set a way from the road, it is usually not too busy, which is really nice. But there is parking near the ice hockey arena and its not too difficult to get to. Its also one of the cleanest dog parks Ive been to in the Denver area. People are really responsible even though you have to bring your own bags (and water! there is no fountain)
Nice dog park!! Ignore the bogus hours. This park is open sun-up to sun-down.
Cute little place, lots of room to walk your dog, with a fenced in area to let them run and burn out all that energy
Good dog park. Nothing exciting. Lots of space which is nice but almost no shade. Gets muddy easily and you must bring your own water.
Clean tracks & Awesome people/neighborhood.
Big structure, my dobermann loves it, he can start a race around, a lot of buddies try to catch him, beautiful, very well taken care and lace
This park is really nice! I always see at least a few other dogs there and its never too packed. The dogs have lots of room to play. I love that its right next to the Lowry sports complex, residential areas & a cool, elevated reservoir trail (just a few steps away), too. You could walk the dogs for hours. The trail is good spot to see the mountains, denver skyline, butterflies, birds and watch some killer sunsets. The people in the area seem professional & family oriented. So, I feel very safe visiting alone.
I really like this dog park - it was the first dog park I ever took my little guy to. I love that it has the three separate areas for high energy play, low energy play and has an agility course. Having explored a few other dog parks I think the only cons are that there aren’t always a lot of dogs to play with, especially for more social dogs like mine. Nonetheless, I still give it 5 stars because even if there aren’t a ton of dogs to play with, there’s trails and areas to walk around to burn off some energy. I’ve really had no issues at this park and everyone has seemed pretty chill so far (dogs/owners)
The place is good but I would not recommend it on a hot afternoon, there is very limited shade, limited benches (like 3), and no water fountain nearby to refill water bowls. I would give this place five stars if it had more kazeebos or benches. All in all its a huge dog park for your furry little friend and a good area outside the dog park to walk and burn some calories
Typical of Denver off leash areas. One big mud pit. No trees, no grass, no squirrels or smells to interest dogs. How they can call it a park is beyond me. Obviously who ever designed these parks never owned a dog. They are here for lawyers only (to avoid any litigation). SAD.
Large fun dog park
Love the place. Owners need to step up watching their dog and cleaning up behond them. Dogs at this dog park are well care for. Today too much snow and puddles for the dogs to run through
I took my five month-old puppy here for the first time today. We found all the dogs and owners to be freindly and kind. The park is spacious, plus theres little nooks for dogs to explore. Theres no water source at the park. People contributed by bringing water for the dogs to share.
Great place to visit with your pups! Nice people, with very friendly animals. People do. Great job of stepping when their dogs act up.
Great place for off leash play. There is a low energy and a high energy area. My dog makes friends and there is lots of friendly people. I only wish it had a water fountain. So dont forget to bring your own or your dog will be thirsty.
I cant speak much about the park itself but if you dont like being surrounded by dozens of wonderful happy dogs this isnt the place to go. Also, if you dont like that then you need a hug. Here is one for you. *Hugs awkwardly because youre probably a serial killer*
Tucked away and its very quaint. Covered in gravelly sand but nothing that hurts the animals. Nice open park that you can go to after weather like rain or snow.
Such a nice place to take your furry kids to make friends and exercise/burn off steam. The poop cleanup rate is about 80% I would say, which is pretty good when it comes to dog parks. Also they offer 3 different fenced areas: high energy, low energy and agility training. The walk from parking to the fenced areas a nice nature walk and all the 2 leggers weve met have been friendly too :)
Lovely area and a great park with 3 separate areas for dogs. High energy, low, and a training area. Wish they had more shade areas for dogs to rest. My only real gripes are it lacks water fountains (even for dogs) and doesnt have bags available for dog mess. Great for walking and animal socializing though.
Great dog park!
Great place to run around there
Nice dog park and appreciate having a facility like this. Improvements could be completing the concrete sidewalk from the parking lot to the park gates, and leveling of the sand/stone material to help with drainage and standing water near entrances.
My dog absolutely love this place. Strongly recommend
Lots of space, limited shade.
Great park. i wish it wasnt so secluded and had a nearby bathroom or something.
Its a nice slice of park away from joggers and cars. My puppy can run around and play with friendly dogs. Owners naturally control their dogs and provide water. We feel safe and happy every time we visit.
Good, big space. Cleaner then many dog parks
I love that they have 3 areas that fit your dog(s) specific energy level, dogs are well behaved and friendly.only negative is that some dogs parents dont pick up after their pet, but that is rare.
While the surrounding park is vast and very pretty, the loose rock soil is hard for some dogs to navigate. My littlw guy has a bum leg so really struggles here. This is just from the perspective of someone with a small pup; other dogs seem to love it and lots of people come on the weekends. I just have to take 2 stars off for the ground situation.
Sand was so much better than dirt, hate muddy paw prints
Its a dog park.
Nice little place to take your dog for run or to meet other dogs .
Will change review when open, dog park still remains closed but says open on google
Great place for dogs, plenty of space everyone was great.
Good open park for dogs. Could have more grassy area for dogs to play in. Its just a dandy area.
Pros: there are 3 play areas at this park. One for training, which has a few hoops to jump through, a tunnel that is raised off the ground by a foot or so, it is also not very long. There is a spot that if you bring your own bar you can set it up for them to jump over that as well. Second area is for low energy play dogs and has a covered area to sit in and grass for the pups to lay on, very rarely used by dogs with low energy, more often used for play dates between dogs. The 3rd area is large lots of running room and has a covered spot to sit at.Cons: the park itself is not easy to get to, there are only dirt/gravel paths that are not maintained very well, if it rains you have to walk through mud to get to the park. It is also a good distance from the parking lot, road, and sidewalks that are paved. There is no water available for the dogs here. Two of the double gate systems one for the training area and one for the high energy area have broken latches for the gates so they are able to just be pushed on to open. There is dog poop every where there most of the pet owner are irresponsible and do not pick up after there pets, then you have the owners themselves, they do not control their dogs here they let them be aggressive, when you comment about it, you could possibly be attacked physically here, I have watched many people get attacked by a lady and her dog because they told her she needed to control her dog, 2 months back my dogs trainer and I where there working on dog greetings and breaking away, as I was leaving my trainings dog gets bit hard by another dog when she commented to the other dogs owner about having to take her dog to the vet now to get stitches to stop the bleeding, she was beating so badly she could not work for a month.Overall the park is not that bad its away from the roads and mostly in good condition, but I would go here at your own risk. The average pet owner that goes here have aggressive dogs, bad public behaviors, and owners with anger issues looking for a reason to get into a fight. 23 trips here before I started going to a much more friendly dog park. At this park I left more than once because of my dog getting hurt and the other dog owner not doing anything about it, vet bills from this park are 587$ to this point. So I will say it again go here at your own risk of injury.
Clean and well kept with separate areas for your dogs level of enthusiasm.
Great. Clean. Great walking and dog liked the hill walk as well
NOT MUDDY! Well groomed and welcoming. Bring poppies bags though. Never any
Perfect place to see how your dog does off leash. There are three gated areas, an agility course area, a low level play area, and a high level play area. You are able to see the dogs throughout the entire fenced area. Everyone who comes here is very friendly!
Forgot yesterday was a week day so people were still at work .so my puppy had no other doggies to play with. On my way there again today this time with a couple of toys to enjoy if play friends today .and its fairly big doggy parkMy dog is so dogged out I get to rest.
Its a good dog park you just have to watch out for the coyotes and snakes.
Most modern dog parks have a water source of some sort, this one Does Not. Park is pretty well maintained but could use a few more perks.
This is one of the best dog parks in the area in my opinion. I take my dogs here several times a week its very large and it had tree and grass, lots of running room. There is another smaller park right next to it for smaller lower energy dogs. My favorite part is that there are always a bunch of other dogs there for my dogs to play with. Last but not least its right beside there is a walking trail that goes up my a reservoir. Its very nice.
Bring your own water and bowl
Very nice dog park! Large and the people are great! The only down fall is there isnt dog bags. People bring in grocery store bags but many have holes in them...no fun getting your hands covered in poop due to a hole in the bag.
Its big and usually busy but owners are aware of their pets. Its also very clean.
Its only so so. Not very many dogs when Ive been, and the location feels a little intimidating. Like, am I allowed to park on the street? If I leave my truck, will it get towed?
Really nice dog park. Well maintained and a large space for dogs to run off leash.
I wish more dog parks were set up like this one. There are three separate enclosures, separated by energy of play level. The three separate enclosures also allow you to sometimes catch a pain and havent entirely to yourself if you have dogs who are not as socialized as you would like them to be but desperately need the exercise. Everyone I have seen here actually watches their dog, instead of chucking them in a pen and getting on their phone. Very nice location and very nice people with very good owners.
It is a great dog park. Everybody is friendly and the dogs are chilled. Our dog has always had a good time and always tired out. The only problem is that it is a little walk to the park from the parking lot.
Very well kept! Nice to cone watch the soccer games 4 free!
Great spot. Bring water on hot days and follow your dog. Nice community atmosphere to the place.
This is a lovely little park. People there are friendly and the dogs are happy. I give it four stars primarily because there was a fair amount of dog poop left around both the inside and outside of the park.
We had a good run here
Favorite dog park so far. Very open. The people that come are really nice and courteous with their dogs. Havent really had any issues since we started taking our (now 9 mo old) samoyed there.
Great parks!!@@ yes 3 in a line
Awesome great place to let your dogs run and play
Love this dog park. Has 3 gated areas so all types of dogs can play off leash safely. My dog loved it!
Good park plenty of space and multiple parts of the park depending on your dogs size and energy level.
Good open space. Some grass, a few trees, but mostly the loose pebbles typical of Denver dog parks. Not much shade. Separate sections for high and low energy dogs, along with a third section for dog tricks, but there arent many obstacles, as of yet. Its a bit of a walk from the parking lot, so be sure to bring a leash! There are snakes along the walk to the dog park (though that should not be a deterrent).
Great dog park, very large with enough room for numerous dogs to run around. Three separate sections including an agility course.
Amazing during the day. Need to be careful at night however.
Nice place to have your pups run around. Plenty of space and dogs for play! My pup isn’t crazy about the gravel in the park, but otherwise it’s great!
Wide open space, great time, only thing that could be better is water source.
Really nice place for the babies
There is a small and big dog park. This is helpful for all types of dogs. It also had a great trails with virws of the mountains.
Nice dog park. Just out in the middle of nowhere. So not many dogs there. Still very clean.
Great location. Clean well kept park.
Just a little while ago I tried to meet a friend at Washington Park, NOT A SINGLE SPOT FOR HOURS! Tragically over packed so we thought, lets try Lowry.....and low and behold plenty of parking! Plenty of room, I highly suggest this park as a great hangout and dog place.
This park is mostly pebbles so I dont think Ill go back (I prefer dirt, sand, or grass), but I appreciated the shaded areas. Very large enclosed space amidst a walking trail.
Great facilities! Very clean and there are adequate trash cans and doggie bags if you need them. Everyone is super friendly here, we will be going back soon.
Better than Stapleton
It is a little bit of a walk from the parking lot, but the park is really nice. There are 3 fenced in areas: high energy play, low energy play, and an agility obstacle course. It is my favorite dog park to take my pup.
