This Museum was truly wonderful exhibit of firefighting past. It is a MUS SEE, It does not take long to walk through. They pay touching tribute to Denvers fire fighters that have had Line of Duty Deaths up to the most current. This is truly a museum and you will not see anything current which was a little bit of a bummer, I also wish they had touched one fire science or a live exhibit but they are severely limited on space. (I also visited in the winter and things may be different in the summer.)The Denver Fire Fighting Museum did an excellent job covering the past of the DFD all the way back to the beginning, which was truly wonderful to see.It was interesting to see some of the biggest fires in Denvers history. As a wild land fire fighter it was astonishing to see their multi day fire at the old airport where they had multiple underground tanks burn. It was jaw dropping to read the amount of water used, foam, and personnel. All in all this was a great experience.

A museum that shows the history of firefighting and how we got to where we are today. The huge telegraph system immediately on the left is really cool! The upstairs shows a lot of fire records in Denver, as well as firefighter lockers throughout the years. New exhibits are coming soon after the pandemic!

We ran into Chuck upstairs, a retired firefighter who happened to be working on a volunteer project as we were walking through the museum. He was a wealth of knowledge and walked us through part of the museum again, telling his personal stories about the station and the city of Denver. If you happen to see him, definitely say hi! The museum itself was also very interesting and contained some interesting pieces of history.

Amazing museum that is in a bit of a niche subject but still fantastic for curious adults and kids of all ages. Experience the history of firefighting in real life with exhibits and artifacts dating back almost 100 years. Surprisingly comprehensive with full sized fire trucks, clothing from the different time periods and seeing the technology progression.Went during Denver arts week which happens during the first Saturday of November where multiple art museums graciously open up their doors for free between 5-10pm.Museum admission is not expensive on most other days and it’s a fantastic way to spend some time if you’re around the Golden Triangle and near downtown. Super easy to swing by with public transportation.

I came here with my uncle as a kid so it had been years since Ive been here. The lady at the counter was extremely nice and helpful. This place is so much fun and I loved that they had costumes for the little ones to play in the fire truck. All in all a great place to go and learn some history. The trucks are an amazing and we had a hard time getting the little one to leave.

It was amazing to be able to have the experience I did. It really made me feel like part of the history of the fire service in the United States, and the fire service in Denver in particular. Seeing how the tools and equipment evolved over the years makes me grateful for the tools we have now. I look forward to returning

For what it is, it is neat. Being in downtown, you will have to pay for parking and it is generally not convenient. Worth a visit though. Wish they did more with the upstairs area but I assume being volunteer and on a budget that will slowly come together.

Small, but very interesting. My kids loved trying on the costume fire fighter gear and seeing where they slept. Parking is not included, but there are pay spots along the road. They have items I have never seen in person before and was pleasantly suprised with the attention to detail. Overall would definitely recommend the trip.

Now this is a cool museum that not only covers the history of firefighting in Denver but the general history of firefighting as a whole. Great exhibits showcasing everything from antique firefighting equipment to personal lockers to fire engines. All in all its a great way to spend an hour or so if youre in to history and fun facts.

Cool place to find out some history about the Denver Fire Dept — well maintained displays and friendly staff. This place would be a hit with kids! (Would give it a five star but sadly there were no XS T-shirt’s in stock, and we were really hoping to grab one for a firefighter friend.)

My 7yo grandson didnt want to leave! He put on all the kid-sized firefighter gear provided, including a Fire Chief hat, sat in the drivers seat of the big red fire truck and his imagination drove him to a whole new dimension. The museum is at the historic Denver Fire Department. We arrived at 10:00 am.on a Saturday when the museum opened. Metered parking on the street is $2 for 2 hours. We took 5 children ages 4 to 8. There were many hands on displays for the children with small sized fire gear to wear and a fire truck to climb in. The building has two floors of displays easy to see in 2 hours. The children had fun and we enjoyed the displays and reading about the history. This was a fun Saturday morning activity.

I learned some things and I enjoyed seeing the cute vintage firefighter things, but I was glad I got free admission tickets through the library- I wouldnt have been excited about paying full price for it. Theres no parking lot for this place and as far as I could find, no free parking, so be prepared to pay for a meter. We lasted about an hour or maybe a little over that.

For a mother with sons who love fire trucks, this place is great even though they only have 1 fire truck you can climb on. We used a cultural pass to visit which I am glad that I did as my daughter was a little young to fully enjoy the museum. The talk with the book was interesting to her along with the coloring page, but since there were not many hands on things, it is definitely geared toward an older group. (I would say at least five years old.) They have a lot of interesting exhibits with the history of the fire department in Colorado and examples of things from fires. (An outline of someone who was asleep when the fire started was really interesting.)

Im giving this place a 3 star because as a museum it was great. It had a lot of great local firefighter stuff with cool stories to go along. However, we went for the trick or treat event this evening. When we arrived we quickly noticed there was no heat in the entire building. On top of that we were told we got 1 peice of candy from the most of the 5 stations. That being said, the young ladies from beechnut were very polite and asked my son his age in which he replied 3, so she gave him 3 peices and an apple sauce. We ended up leaving colder than when we got there with 9 peices of candy for $27 bucks. Yikes!

It was hard to find & small. It was advertised as having hands on activities for kids. My grandkids are 4 & 7....there was a part of a fire truck for them to climb on. Upstairs there were some kids books about firemen, an area to teach about planning an escape route in your home in case of fire. This museum is better suited for older history buffs who like to read every sign. We thought it was overpriced for what it was.

I thought the museum was interesting and educational. It does seem like the museum is run on a shoe string budget.
