Mandy’s THE best. I always feel safe when she’s around.
An excellent venue for a show; not too large or small. Chicagoans will feel like its the Vic, minus the balcony seating. The staff was super friendly and the drinks werent overpriced, considering youre a captive audience. I hope more great artists (like Reverend Horton Heat and Koffin Kats) play this venue in the future. The crowd here was full of life.
Historic, small, and adorable, this little theater makes for an amazing concert or show from all of your favorites! The experience is amazing and I could not have been happier with the show I saw here. Parking can be a bit of a pickle but other than that I really enjoyed my experience here.
Amazing venue for a concert. There isn’t a bad place to stand to see the show and concessions are reasonable. No seats so if you want to be in the front row you’ll need to get there early. There are some great restaurant options within walking distance. Good bar inside and prices are really cheap....I’m talking like $4 beers. The sound is good because of well done acoustics. Overall a great place to see a live show.
Absolutely beautiful venue with killer sound. I saw my favorite band Copeland there and it was an amazing night. I highly recommend getting there early so you can get a prime time spot in one of the tiered levels. The drinks are reasonably priced for a venue. Going to be on my list of venues to check for upcoming shows.
Good music venue, not spectacular. drinks are very pricey; I’d say go drink elsewhere before coming to the concert you’re looking forward watching. the stage is cool, sound is very good and it’s fairly wide and organized. only thing is, I definitely did not like the way the security people treated everyone in the audience the SECOND the last band was done playing: we were having a snow storm last night, it was super cold out and they literally just kicked us out and didn’t even let us in just long enough to wait for our Uber. right after the concert. so that’s why 3 stars![all photos are from the band A-Mac and The Height and taken by me, so if you use them pls credit both myself and the band! thanks!]
Perfect venue for intimate shows in an old-school theatre of sorts. While the seats have been removed, there are still descending platforms (also with little hooks for coats and bags). You can still see the stage, no matter where you are standing. They have a little bar that is perfect for grabbing a drink or two during the show. I saw The Wild Reeds here with a friend and the sound was excellent - one of my top ten shows this year. I love that its walking distance from other bars and restaurants, makes it easy to grab dinner before heading over. They even have an old-school sign out-front, the one where someone manually changes the letters, I love that.
The Bluebird has been a staple of concerts here in Denver for a long time. This intimate setting is a great place to see your favorite band. There is a lot of space to listen to the music and a large bar area to enjoy your favorite libation while jamming out. If you have an opportunity to see a show at the Bluebird, go!
This place had a fun and open atmosphere. I came here to watch a small indie band called summer salt and had a blast. It was an enjoyable experience. The one down side is that you have to stand the entire time, so after a while I had to sit on the floor because it got too tiring, but if you can handle standing concerts go here!
The bluebird is an intimate theater where every seat is good and the sound is pretty decent The biggest problem the bluebird has is parking, the ghetto neighborhoods around the bluebird have petitioned to make the streets no parking between 6:00 p.m. and midnight purposely so concertgoers do not have a place to park
Love this theatre just wish the lady working here was friendlier. She’s a poor representation of an amazing venue. I stopped to by tickets for a show the other day - front door was unlocked and she couldn’t have been more rude. I haven’t been back to purchase tickets.
Awesome venue for small-medium shows. There are 2 floors and the first floor is in an angle down so people further up dont get there view blocked. Bar had a nice variety and decent prices. Pretty easy to find parking in the side roads near by
No other venue that offers this intimacy, amazing bands come through here, great sound, decent priced drinks. Top 10 venue in Denver
The bluebird is a nice and intimate venue, absolutely amazing for small concerts... as long as your not disabled.Unfortunately it is not very accessible for disabled people. There is no actual ADA/Accessible area, they just pull up a chair to the front of a barricade on a slightly elevated platform in the back. Unfortunately when sitting, there is not a view of the stage if people are over 5’8 are in front of you even though they are on a lower platform. (This is an issue for people who are wheelchair bound). Also there is no was to distinguish the difference between the ADA area & everybody else which lead to crowding. My experience here being disabled meant I could not see & intense crowding ( I had a able-bodied couple grinding a inch from my face the whole show, falling over me & constantly bumping into my chair). As someone who needs to sit but is also capable of occasionally standing I found the crowding frustrating because able bodied people were not aware or respectful of my space. If I wanted to stand and dance, I frequently had to fold up my chair every time I wanted to stand because the lack of space (if you require a wheelchair but can also occasional stand then this would be a nightmare).I would highly recommend the bluebird follow suit of the Ogden and get a rope barrier for their disabled clientele. I would change my review to 5 stars if they got the rope barrier but for now I’m giving it two stars because although it’s a nice venue the rights of the disabled should be more respected.
Listened to the band Joseph. So good! Great venue
The Bluebird Theater gets it right when dealing with a standing room only venue! They have several platform layers so that even if youre short (like me) you have a great chance at having an awesome view of the band on stage! The acoustics are lovely as well, so the bands always sound their best.
Good venue. they were 100% on top of checking IDs and stuff before doors and it allowed everyone to get in smoothly and quickly. I do wish security would have monitored the pit a little bit though because there was a group of people behind us (they were in the 2nd row) talking loudly throughout the entire show and every other venue Ive ever been to they would have been asked to leave out of respect for people trying to enjoy the show.
Amazing venue in Denver....seen two shows neither disappointed. Reminds me of The National in Richmond, another killer venue.
Love the small setting this venue has! The staff was great. It has layered levels so most people get a good view. With it being small I believe there was only one bathroom. But still was in and out Everytime I went. I would recommend this place! Ill be back for sure! Got to meet the artist that played. It was awesome!
Great smaller venue, great to catch bands here and not be 100 rows back with needing binoculars to tell whats going on. Has tiered viewing so smaller folks can still see whats going on.Unfortunately the parking here blows. Be prepared to drive around City Park and try to squeeze into a residential spot if youre not here well and early. Bathroom also needs some love as fixtures and doors dont work great.Still a great place for a concert, just dont quite believe I can give it 5 stars with the above issues.
This is an intimate concert experience. The club is easy to navigate, standing room only, excellent bartending, great sound. No snacks, but bring some mixed nuts your pocket.
This was my first concert in my wheelchair and everyone on the staff went out of their way to make sure that I was taken care of. It was very accessible for me. Thank you very much!
We came here for a concert for Movements in April. The location is in the happening side of town and the parking is hit or miss so arrive early. We didnt have to wait too long because the guards and ticket staff had the line moving pretty constant. The venue layout was neat to see. The rows descend as you get closer to the stage so it offers different angles so were not all leveled trying to see the performance. The flooring was I believe was not complete concrete so my knees enjoyed that. And the bar staff was awesome! If your band stops here the sound is amazing, itll be worth the trip. We drove in from NM to see the show.
Nice small theater with good sound. Get there early to get a seat behind the soundboard. Balcony was closed but can offer more seating for other shows.
Great venue with a more personal feel. Very quick with drinks
What a great venue that seats about 600 people. Minimal seatingyou most likely have to stand but its a good view of the stage no matter where youre at
Recently saw VIS, Strawberry Girls, Royal Coda & Hail the Sun at this venue & i gotta say, the place is beautiful & the area its in is even more gorgeous. Really wish my hometown had a venue like this! I wouldn’t have to travel 7 hours if it did. Lol
Great venue serving up an intimate concert with your favorite bands. Highly recommend!
Saw Reverand Horton Heat Saturday, February 16th for the first time- what an amazing show!!! Those guys introduced me to rockabilly music and have set the bar high for any other show of that kind!! Bluebird Theatre is a great venue for a more intimate concert. Our group had a great time!!
This is one of my favorite venues ever. You always have a place where you can see. Theres a pit. Good bar. Dig it!
I love this venue! But enough to have a good crowd, and small enough to feel intimate. Ive seen all of my favorite bands here, and its always magical!
It was an emotional, beautiful show last night with The Heartstring Hunters, The Lonesome days and Avenhart in front of a packed house on a Wednesday night. All the women in the bands came together and sang acapella, a beautiful hymn that silenced the crowd to all but a thundering stomp. That stomp became subtle and silenced as the their voices lulled us into their soft ending. Absolutely amazing an venue that just a week prior we in outer space listening to EDM, to last night feel as if we were in a folksingers’ backyard. I posted on Twitter about the show, just moments before the Thousand Oaks shooting in California.A night that went down in infamy for California was the complete opposite on Colfax, in Denver, Colorado. We uplifted one another, we were rich in love. ️Let’s keep our love going strong and never let the madness take away our dance and song!!!
Great, cozy venue! Love the history of the old theater and location. Would be helpful if website showed a map where nearby parking is since their are a lot of residential permit areas and 2 hour only parking. Happy to go back to another show.
This is a great place to see a concert, we saw Bob Schneider, every spot is a good seat. The bar tending staff is very qualified. The prices of drinks are avarage. Parking will be a few blocks away.
Awesome live music venue located close to Colfax and Colorado. My boyfriend and I went to the Wilder Woods concert and were blown away by great performance and the atmosphere of this place. It really is a hidden gem of a venue in Denver. Id highly recommend checking it out!
Nice wee venue. Like how its terraced to maximise view
Its a great venue; easy to get a nice viewing perspective and the sound system is awesome (remember your earplugs). Its also kind of reassuring that they have a metal detector... yeah, I know it sucks that you have to think about that, but welcome to the world. Only downside: drink prices.(pic is from G.A.)
A great venue to see a nice cozy show. Drink prices and pours are good. I prefer it over the Ogden.
Went and saw JACK HARLOW!! Amazing venu!! The sound system and acoustics made it an enjoyable experience. Till next time Bluebird!-Sweet
You guys really need to fix your bathroom door. It doesn’t shut and you can’t tell. Someone walked in on me while I was on the toilet. Same thing happened to my friend. When I used the bathroom again I had to push the door pretty hard to make sure it was shut. For a venue as popular as this I’m surprised you don’t take care of this immediately.
Went to see Grace Vanderwaal here and it was amazing! There was about 100 people maximum so it felt small and intimate and the whole design and interior gives off old retro vibes. Overall loved it!
A classic. A must-visit venue in Denver for a live music set of any kind...set in an old style, intricate cieling & beautiful theatre; cozy, intimate, good sound.
Really cool small venue in Denver. This place pulls in a lot of awesome artists are mostly under the mainstream radar. Sound is really well done for a small venue. Overall I wish the drinks were more reasonably priced and the place was a little cleaner, otherwise no complaints.
Better than I expected for this little venue! Wouldnt mind seeing other acts here in this rather intimate setting
This is a very cool spot. Good bar, good standing room, tiered so everyone can see in front of them, and a good balcony. This place has a bunch of character so If a band you like is passing through do not pass up a chance to see them at the Bluebird
Always amazing shows. Its nice that if you get there early enough, you can really be right next to the artist while they perform. Acoustics are amazing!
Lets start with the staff Sarah was great very outgoing and had a smile . Phora rocked always gives an amazing show. Ollie the opening act was great. The venue has been around for years. Great place to see a show. Sound is great. Will definitely be back .
Amber Run was epic. Great venue for their first Denver concert.
Another fantastic Denver music venue. Good sound, sloping floor makes it easier for people to see. Nice balcony. Denver is killing it with these music venues
Staff was very rude and aggressive!! To everyone you will get accused of things you didn’t do! Security is one of the worse! Will never come back to this venue for a show
Bridge City Sinners were definitely the best band to see for our first trip to the historic Bluebird Theatre. Dont miss the opportunity to check out a true piece of music history.
Great venue with a nice stage. Perfect size for a band you wanna rock out too and keep some sort of intimacy and connection with. Good service, easy bar, free earplugs!
My favorite music venue in Denver! I love that its easy to see from almost any spot, and I like the feel of the smaller, more intimate venue.
Went to the Five Iron Frenzy show right before Halloween had a great time. thank-you to the sheriffs officer who happened to notice my significant other falling over hitting the trash can outside. Thank you to the band and Reese for the autograph.
And the smelliest venue award goes to......... Please for the love of music, give this venue a clean down regularly. Surprisingly the bathrooms were better than I remembered. But the viewing areas smells like someone gave birth on the floor and its been rotting ever since. The railings smell like blood. I understand that people are nasty heathens but thats no excuse to let your beautiful venue turn into a bio hazzard site. I almost cut myself on the stairs upstairs. I definitely would have needed a series of tetanus shots.
Great venue, but they dont serve free water.. Even when you buy something. Wasnt pointed to a water fountain either so assuming there isnt one. Kinda shows theyre more in this for the money, not providing a good or safe experience.
This is a good - fun medium size venue. The decor reminds me of a rustic style classic theater. The best thing with this venue is there isnt a bad seat in the house. For those who enjoy the birds eye view, they have a decent size balcony to watch from. I knocked it down a star because I believe it could be kept more clean. I understand it hosts concerts, but it would be nice if more attention was paid to keeping it clean. Apologies in advance to those who wish they never knew, but Ive never seen it with clean curtains on the inside and the weird cultures growing on them always grosses me out.
The venue was ok. I know its an old building but a little fixing and cleaning wont hurt anybody. As for the show. It was amazing.
Great intimate venue. Great acoustics. Drinks are reasonably priced and the staff is friendly and courteous. I saw Grace VanderWaal there. Great night.
This is a quaint little music hall with bar service. Our concert was not too crowded.
Great venue to enjoy live music. Good views pretty much anywhere you are. Some seating available on ground floor and along railing on balcony. Acoustics are awesome and staff is friendly.
Sound engineer was screwing up hard at Neon Indian. Could barely hear the vocals the whole night, and at one point we missed a whole synth solo. The lead singer kept having to go over to the booth to check what was going on. Love this venue but they gotta hire people who can actually work a board
Cool little venue. Watched many legends play that stage over the years. A Denver staple.
Great place to see a show. The Bluebird is small so theres not a bad seat in the house.
Awesome place for a metal concert, got fake blood sprayed all over be and the band Exhumed used an angle grinder to shred on the guitar, also they had a saw blade on their drumkit, Revocation was the coolest though, great band, umm yeah, cool place, cooler concert
This place is awesome for metal music. They have drinks but I would just drink across the street .The sound is good and atmosphere too. I would recommend it strongly
The bluebird is a great place to see any show. It is small, but it feels intimate. Very good sound and a beautiful place
Very cool and intimate music venue. Good acoustics.
This place is just the right size. The bartender was super cool. The top area is great for viewing.
Cool theater with good beers. I hope they have more barbershop quartets play here. This theater is a little piece of history in downtown Denver
Great place to see a show. Very cozy
This place is super fun!
The staff is very friendly. Koffin Kats and Reverend Horton Heat each put on rockin shows!!!! Will see each of them again when given the opportunity!!
Great venue but wont sell to 18 yearolds!
Had high hopes for this place and it lived up. Love the way the floor is set up so there are multiple levels of standing room. It was a sold out show but there was still plenty of room.Cant wait to go back!
Shane Smith and the Saints... Amazing guys. Intimate venue, great view right by the sound board. Temperature control was a little all over the place through the night though.
Great venue with multiple levels so that you can see wherever you stand. Seating available upstairs in the balcony, too. They even provide ear plugs
Was there to visit and looks like a great place for a band dancing.
We had a really fun concert here. A few more seats would have been nice at first.
Loved the bluebird, got to see Hells Belles an ac/ DC all female cover band
Small venue enjoyed atmosphere will go there again. The line to get in was kind of long but will not be an issue when warmer weather occurs
Amazing venue....but very cold upstairs with A/C blowing the entire concert.
Really nice place with really good sound. The concert sounded and looked great. Thanks for a great concert Vio-lence!!
Could have used some chairs on the sides. Concert was great.
This is my favorite small venue - I love the intimate experience!
Saw Lucky Chops there and it was a blast! Easy to get front row and move around!
Good performances. Good booze. Good friends. Very good night.
I saw PJ Morton here and man it was great!
Great smaller theatre with good acoustics and friendly staff.
One of the best, intimate settings to see artists.
Saw Health here on April 17th, met some cool locals and had a great time. The floor is tiered so there isnt much of a dance floor in front of the stage and there is a balcony but I think they only open it if enough tickets get sold. The sound was good and the room has character. Also, the neighborhood has some neat shops and you can grab a late night slice of NY style pizza and a beer at Atomic Cowboy until 2am.
Awesome place to see a show. Intimate venue, strong but reasonably priced drinks, and young crowd. Definitely good vibes!
Cool venue, GREAT show. Went to see Russian Circles when they were here and had a great time
Lights were bothering guitarist. But concert was good.
LOVE bluebird theater!! Perfect size for seeing your favorite band up close; staff are always nice, especially security staff - so wonderful!!
One of the best smaller mid-size venues in denver
I liked the show, but it was too hot in the theatre...
