Closed like everything else these days but the art studios and artists where out and make a visit worth it. Theres also space to do cool things in if you the artist
Not quite what I was expecting... The pictures make it look like a great exhibit of street art but in reality, this part of town was not impressive in the least. There were a few gas stations or small businesses with a painted mural or some graffiti on the side, but most of my time there was spent walking through a run-down residential area, getting glances from smokers on their porches. It may not be a bad place to live but I would not recommend visiting, as there is not much to see and it is an hour walk away from the center of the city.
The art on Santa Fe is really eclectic and often times uncurated. Exhibiting artists come and go and so are the owners of the galleries. Co-ops never close their doors to new members. If you really wish to enjoy this art walk, keep your mind open and be ready for something new every time you visit. You might be lucky to catch the food trucks and/or live performing artists that will make your day.
