Dana Point Inn, historical plaque inscription:These arches were part of S.H. Wooodruff’s resort hotel — the Dana Point Inn. The stock market crash and the Great Depression halted construction, ending his dream. Part of the foundation, the hand poured concrete arches remain as a local landmark. Remnants of a 1920s rock path are visible from the bridge crossing the canyon.
Great little hidden place to view the harbor and learn a bit of history.

Amazing views Dana Point Harbor!
The arches are located near the Violet Lantern end of the Dana Point Bluff Top Trail. This is a very short, paved walkway that overlooks the harbor and is very scenic. There are a few steps along the way of thats an issue, but otherwise anyone can walk this trail.
Great views!
Beautiful, just beautiful. A short walk from the road, street parking, but not bad. My 90 year old mother was able to make it to the lookout, but felt the sidewalk was too steep to make it the 20 more yards to the arches.Ocean views were magnificent
