This was easily the most beautiful resort Ive ever had the pleasure of staying. Three blissful nights, celebrating an anniversary, I will never forget. From the delicious breakfast burrito, breathtaking views, to the turn down service, the Monarch Beach staff did not disappoint.The attention to detail was so impressive. From the moment we arrived, the professional service was apparent. Lucas checked us in, leaving no detail unexplained. The valet service, referring to us by name, was outstanding, as we entered and excited the property on our excursions. The pro shop handled and protected my clubs as if they were prized possessions (and they are). The golf course was as beautiful as it was challenging. One of the highlights of this beautiful course was teeing off on hole 3, facing the Pacific. The stunning beauty of the hole caused me to lose concentration, thus making a double bogey. Aviara was the most beautiful course Id ever played, until Monarch Beach Golf Links. (Shot 83)There were a number of welcomed surprises that made our stay even more memorable. Maintaining and relocating the gym was an enormous gift to myself, and many of the guest who trained on a crisp Saturday morning.Locating the walking trails, one which lead to the sun kissed beach, provided memories I will cherish.A special occasion, made even more special, was the result of staying at the Monarch Beach Resort. Great food, amazing and friendly staff, beautiful hotel and rooms, beautiful beach with chair/towel/umbrella service, great pool.We were evacuated from our home and this resort was amazing. They also waived resort and valet fees. Treated us with such kindness even as they became inundated with families that were evacuated.We are planning to book another stay here. Highly recommend this hotel over montage. Montage was going to charge us $950 vs $350 at monarch which is just as good, if not better.

I loved everything about Monarch Beach Resort except the company that came with me my now ex wife. Rooms are beautiful all restaurants are great there was music in the lobby when we stayed and you can’t beat the SPA.

We just returned from an amazing stay at Monarch to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. The entire staff was incredibly accommodating and so kind. Our out of town guests couldnt believe how nice everyone was. From Lucas at the front desk, to Ryan at the Links, and Vance who gave us a thoughtful tram tour of the property and area - everything was amazing. We cant wait to return with our parents and children.

Excellent from the moment we arrived! True 5 star service and incredible communication between the staff internally. They did everything to accommodate us with every request from the minute we arrived and checked in at the front desk. Beautiful and comfortable rooms, the grounds are well groomed and gorgeous, the pool was fantastic and also felt very safe with COVID regulations. We will be back soon!

I stayed there on the 26th of October the day of the Fire in the Irvine area. I watched the care the staff and management put into making sure those who had been displaced by the fire were provided a hassle-free experience.... and to beat that they lowered the price on their Rooms, no resort fees and free valet parking.I wasnt a part of the fire group but received the same benefits. My Room was great, service was awesome and my meals at the different restaurants were superb !

My Boyfriend took me to Monarch Beach Resort and we had a blast. It was more of a stay-cation. As we live down the street. But the customer service was excellent and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous.

Has potential. Areas of the hotel do not indicate 5 star, including the worn bottoms of lobby furniture. In my room, the pipes from other rooms above were excessively loud with draining water or whatever... Loud enough that one might think the pipe is broken and loud enough that it is able to interrupt normal TV sound levels. Simply needs a refurb and attention to details to bring it back up. Property has great views, great pool area and is a fun resort property overall.Had issues with terrace fireplace not working, took 2 phone calls and 1.5 hours to get someone to replace the tank. Also had issue with reservation at Bourbon Steakhouse being canceled even though the concierge made the reservation 3 days prior and confirmed by phone later in the day. To their credit, hotel manager took care of this issue and went above and beyond to fix the problem. This was much appreciated.Will give this hotel another chance as I can see the potential.

For $700 our room with a view of the Golf Course was not bad.Small, but clean and had a view of the sunset.Its a long walk to the rooms!Nice hotel.The cafe girls were sooo nice!!!They made me any drink that I could think of each morning.

Great atmosphere and amazing customer service by all staff. Masks are required in public areas and individually wrapped masks are given to those who need it. The architecture and outdoor pool setting are beautiful.

Exceptional.A welcome escape into elegance and tranquility during the rough summer. My family and I came here during the peak of the So Cal fires this year and the Monarch offered a true respite from the stresses of life, and a reminder to enjoy the good things in life.Beautiful location, friendly and competent staff, great food and great experience.We are skipping the distance glamor resorts and spending more time here.

Gorgeous resort! The staff were incredibly nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The selection of restaurants is high quality (pricey but worth it), the pool+hot tub was great, and the beach below was pristine.

Many Covid protocols in place, no mask enforcement outdoors, pool still gets a quite crowded. Restaurants also crowded at dinner due to outdoor seating only (reservation recommended), even during the week. Food pickup is offered as an option at all restaurants.

Been here several times. This time it was for an outdoor wedding. For a place that usually covers every detail, I suggest a little more to address the bugs flying around. The dessert was absolutely rediculous. Im not even sure what it was, but it involves some flakey, filo type thing in top of a molten chocolate omg-ness with some kind of once in a lifetime kind of ice cream.

A bit pricey especially with the collateral hold they put on your card when you check in ($250 a night) but you get what you pay for. The service and amenities are beyond luxury. Great place for a honeymoon, anniversary or business trip.

I’ve never been so excited to give a full, real, absolute 5 star review!! I have stayed at other “5stars” before and nothing compares to Monarch! The Service is top notch! Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE working there is so incredibly nice and enthusiastic about making sure you have a good experience! I was blown away. It’s what I always expect when you pay to stay at nice places but don’t always get. The resort itself is impeccably clean and luxurious. What really separates this place from competitors I think is its privately run so things like service, complimentary amenities and luxuries don’t get forgotten. I truly valued and appreciated everything offered, especially the car service to town! The breakfast and pastries were to die for. I felt like they were straight from Italy. Dinner at the fancy restaurant we weren’t so impressed with but I hate to even say that. I can’t say enough good Things, we truly had one of the best stays of our life and my husband already emailed me asking to book our next stay. Monarch- along as you keep it as it is, you have loyal customers for life!

We have been coming here for years. The staff are very attentive. Love the tram ride to the beach. The pool is a great place first the kids ti make friends, even during COVID.

Gorgeous property. Outstanding service. Very clean and organized. Staff is prompt and courteous. The rooms are well kept. Only valet parking, and the drivers expedite your vehicle to you quickly and safely. The tram to the beach is very useful and efficient. Visit the Monarch Bay Beach Club to eat, on their private beach. An absolute amazing experience. Very much a recommendation from me.

Amazing experience here with my family, staff and facility are top notch, though on sunday morning you could see the pool area definitely needed some attention but they were on top of it. Food, location, all spot on, we will definitely be back.

One of the best experiences of my life. If your stressed, this is the perfect place for you. You can lay down and take a nap by the pool. Have a nice day in the Jacuzzi. Best of all, you can go relax at the beautiful beach where you can surf and swim.

A Birthday experience that is unforgettable! I truly enjoyed this magical stay. The grounds of the resort and views of the beach are breathtaking. Everything was luxurious and calming. The hotel went above abf beyond to make sure that all of our needs were met. This is a five star resort and it certainly lives up to it. We our from AZ and needed that break from the heat... We have stayed here a few times and absolutely love it. This place is amazing.

Positive: location Negative: yes the beach rental staff removed our rental chairs and personal items when we went for a walk on the beach... The personal items were never found. This is unacceptable on a beach were they rent chairs..

We just checked out and I will start by saying- if you care about social distancing and Covid precautions, this isn’t the place for you. We wanted to staycation here and felt confident based on the statements from staff and the website but unfortunately our family didn’t feel very comfortable. Half the people walking around the resorts and at the Starbucks weren’t wearing masks or wore them under their chins and staff made no attempts to correct this. The biggest issue was the tram to the beach (because remember the beach is a good 1-2 mile walk from the hotel). Masks are supposedly required but half they young teenagers riding with no parents visible were again wearing them under their chins or holding them, and staff packs you in 12-15 people per tram for the ride. Uhhh, not feeling good about this. We tried waiting for empty ones but as soon as we got in they would load it up. We ended up walking with our very young kids one day just to avoid.Aside from that there were just a number of things that only felt so-so about this $700 a night resort. An additional $55 a night for parking plus a $50 a day resort fee so you’re really looking at $800 a night and I thought we would feel the luxury. Not really. Rooms were nice but not anything special and view was poor. Big problem: there’s nowhere you can eat unless you’ve made reservations prior to your visit because they’re all “booked up”. I’m sorry but for this type of price for a resort I should be able to at least sit down at a casual place with my family to eat. Nope. We arrived on a Thursday and not one of the hotel restaurants could accommodate my family of 4 so we ended up ordering kids menu room service. We ended up only being able to eat at one of the restaurants for breakfast on a Sunday and had to go off resort for every other meal.Called down for help checking out and to get our car so the little kids wouldn’t have to wait...no answer. Just expected a lot more and must say we were pretty disappointed. I guess we will try The Montage or something else in the area for our next Covid staycation.

My wife and I came to the resort for our 1-year anniversary. The resort is very well kept, appropriate social distancing measures (Except at the private beach), nice spa lawn for classes and exercise. Sprawling layout, between the resort, golf course, and beach, and public trams can take you between all the locations. Food is pretty good, especially at Aveo (we both got the lobster gnocchi). We were not able to check in earlier than 4PM, and ended up paying $300 extra for another suite a little bit earlier.The only issue we had was related to the discounted price that was offered to us at the beginning of the stay (they offered $500 off for our anniversary, which we thought was very generous, and we both had verbally acknowledged the discount prior to obtaining the keys for our room.). The discount only ended up being $100 which we were informed of at check-out.

They need to clean the rooms better. Alot of dust on bed posts and linen area.

Its a magnificent resort and a great little tram to take you to the beach where they put up seats and umbrellas for you. All very plush if crazy expensive (we got a major deal). Also doing a good job with safety during pandemic - very overt steps to keep everything clean and safe.

LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!! Five Stars times a thousand. Beautiful facility with gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean. Every room is meticulously designed and the housekeeping staff and the maintenance crew keep the rooms and property spotless and in excellent condition. The landscaping is gorgeous and is maintained beautifully by the maintenance personnel. I had an opportunity to have a massage in their incredible well appointed Spa. The Resort is located in a beautiful (as if there are anything but) section of Dana Point known as Monarch Beach. My wish is that every person on this earth have a stay at this beautiful Resort. Of course the cost of a stay is in line with the quality of this beautiful place. As a result, the expense is prohibitive for most of us. I was blessed to stay on behalf of my spouses employer. Im so grateful to the company and humbled to be a recipient of such generosity. Folks, if you ever have the opportunity to stay at this marvelous Resort, dont bypass the opportunity - youll forever regret your decision!

Positive: Beautiful hotel and grounds, excellent view Negative: Be prepared to spend an inordinate amount on parking. I could have put my car in a room at the local motel for what it cost to park at the Monarch, outrageous amount for parking.

The beach is farther than it seems. The pool was crowded, and service was mediocre. Rooms were not cleaned properly which was a real let down considering the Corona virus situation. The pool was crowded, and the poolside bar service and food was mediocre. No social distancing guidelines were adhered.For a more memorable stay, the Montage or Ritz Carlton are tight down the street, and although they are twice the price, your stay will be safer and more memorable.

Beautiful atmosphere, great customer service, and Bourbon is one of the best restaurants around.

This is such an amazing hotel. The staff are warm and professional. The location is fantastic and the facilities just perfect. From Lyle who helped us with our luggage to Eduard at the pool we felt special and well looked after. As a European this is the American hospitality we see in the movies and I just love it. I would recommend booking early and looking out for special deals as this is a great family destination. We enjoyed a bottle of the Rose wine which is local and delicious. The room is also spotless and magnificent.

Beautiful setting great customer service! Difficult time for these resorts with the Coronavirus but staff stayed positive and informed. We had the resort to ourselves I felt like a VIP! Will return again during better times.

Great service. House keeping does a Fantastic job too, so you feel more comfortable with a room cleaned thoroughly. Even the golf course is amazing.Everything is pricey but all worth it...Im a fan. Highly recommend this place.

My husband and I have stayed at this resort many times when it was The St Regis and even had our son’s wedding there 7 years ago, but sadly we’re very disappointed when we stayed there last week. Their reopening offer of “Stay 2 nights and get the 3rd night free “ is very deceiving. We were quoted a price per night for 2 nights, but when we received our final bill the room rate was much higher. They said they take the room rate they quoted us and multiply it by 3 nights and then divide by 3 which makes each night higher. So you are actually paying for the 3rd night! I think that is very bad advertising! I guess nothing is really free.

Positive: Ride to the beach. View from the hotel. Food was excellent at Aveo. Negative: The room was not clean. Only place to eat for dinner was ordering room service. You could not eat dinner at the restaurants on the property because all the reservations were full. The reservations were full a week before our stay. I wish I known.

The Monarch Beach Resort is a beautiful and welcoming hotel. We had dinner at Bourbon Steak and it was fantastic!! We felt very spoiled by the service and our dinner and desserts were delicious!! We also had dinner at the Monarch Beach Club and the atmosphere was so relaxed and enjoyable. The sunset from our dinner table was spectacular!

It would be perfect if they included salt and pepper with room service

Positive: The ocean view. The staff is exceptional. Negative: The ride to and from the beach is uncomfortable.

Positive: The private beach and beach service of chairs and umbrellas. The onsite Bourbon Steak restaurant was excellent. Negative: no warning about dogs and pets being on the same area and floor as non-pet owners. Not enough staff at check-in; waited until 5pm to check in. Valet option only but did not want Valet; Self-park was the same price.

I was the DJ at this venue last night. It’s a beautiful venue. It’s the second event I’ve done here. Each in different ballrooms opposite sides from each other. It’s very high end, and I’m pretty sure it’s pricey all the way around. If you like luxury, you’ll over this place. As a DJ, loading for events is a little Challenging from the loading dock. But manageable depending on what room you’re trying to get to. You’re also kind of forced to valet. I had to walk a half mile for free parking, but depends on what room you’re in. I was in the Monarch 1 room. Btw, the food was excellent.

Incredible stay. Supremely beautiful facility and helpful staff. Its a large hotel they made feel small. While it is not inexpensive, they work hard to demonstrate value. Very fun golf course and terrific pool set-up. Always stayed at The Ritz there, but now have a better option. A++

Monarch is home to my local gym, my local bar, and a few options for food. It is valet only if youre driving. The valet staff is incredibly friendly and as fast as they can be, but this location regularly hosts conferences and weddings. The wait for your car can be very long, so plan ahead.The service at Monarch is exceptional. Head and shoulders above what I experience at The Ritz down the road. For the years Ive been a customer I dont think Ive had a bad interaction with a single staff member.

The hotel is beautiful. Absolutely stunning and the service matched the aesthetic. Our room was large and beautifully decorated; the bathroom equally so. We will definitely come back and stay again!

This is a property hotel and it is stunning . The rooms are nothing special but they have added large tubs and good amenities that allows to push the rates up ..but your paying for the grounds and its worth it. Big space, huge pool, appealing to all life styles families or singles .It is Orange county at its best. If you hit a special it makes it even better .Laguna is moments away and makes for some fun outside the hotel . Go to Urth for a little caffe living if you leave the grounds .

The staff here was so accommodating for they helped us to bring our bags and directing to the room where we stay in for a night. I love the space for it was very clean and cozy. The fragrance was pleasant. They also have complete room facilities. I love the quality of the service because the staff was very kind.

Absolutely, stunningly beautiful. Spent 5 days at the resort for a conference I was attending there and honestly I cant think of a negative things to say about my stay. Obviously the food and drink is probably a little overpriced but that is probably a combination of a state that piles taxes and taxes upon businesses as well as the impressive labor force they have is going to cost more. Without a doubt would stay again and highly recommend.

Great relaxing but elegant resort for a long weekend getaway or longer holiday. We had a ‘fire pit terrace room’Not a great view (facing pool) not ocean but was spacious, large bathroom, king bed, lounge chaise, desk and patio with chairs and a gas fire pit.Lots of options for fitness - great workout center and full schedule of classes ie: yoga, spin etc. We had a golf package and enjoyed the Golf Links course.Enough restaurants to keep you on property and happy as well as room service.Speaking of service everyone was super friendly and helpful including the booking person we spoke to in the phone. Had OTT dinner @ Bourbon Steak - named best restaurant in OC. Delicious steaks cooked perfectly. Big wine list ($45 corkage if you BYO) andpricey but a great dining experience. Complimentary duck fat truffle fries as well as after dinner truffles and a souvenir bag of bourbon Carmel corn to take home. Perfect for a big evening out.

From the minute you arrive it is absolute luxury, the team, the meals and the hotel is simply remarkable. My area was enormous and provides you with the genuine WOW element. Used to be a St Regis hotel but now it’s even better. Multi million dollar renovation ended up in an upscale resort with an excellent taste in decoration and space distribution. Large and spacious rooms with great lighting options all dimmable and warm light. Excellent service.
