It has so many animals like dears, turkeys. It has wonderful hiking trails and many vista points. Bay view from top of the trail is astonishing.
This is a very popular trail in Rancho San Antonio preserve. Difficulty is mid to high. There is steep inclination at the beginning of the trail. Slowly keeps gaining height till the 3rd PG&E tower. Once you reach the top you can enjoy the view of south bay.
Great trail both for views and clean air. Also has a variety of turn around spots for different levels of hikers. At the top where it connects to the high meadow trail, it also connects to the Black Mountain trail. The connecting trail itself is very sunny but so beautiful and worth the extra push at the end of a nice hike!
Great nature trail. Good for photo opportunities for events like portraits and wedding photos. Lots of clean air, and good biodiversity. The climb to the top is pretty steep, however.
Well groomed trail. Sometimes a little busy.
One of the best hiking trail in Silicon Valley. Close to major south bay cities. Shadded unpaved trail makes pleasant hike in summer.
Great trail. If you are taking the way up its quite steep and with limited shades so it can get tough. Easy to combine with Deer Hollow trail to make a loop.
Excellent hikes at all levels. Animal farm is very enjoyable for families with young kids. Parking may be a challenge
Great challenging trail. Make sure to fully hydrate, eat a balanced carb to protien meal and use restroom down by parking lot prior to hike. Bring water and a couple light snacks. Advanced trail, lot of incline. Without stopping it can take about 2 1/2 -3 hrs. depending on your skill level. Enjoy!
Great walk, nice scenery, good exercise, plenty of Pokèstops and a Gym at the end.
Great place for hikers..even though there is plenty of parking space if u arrive after 6.30 am be prepared to drive back & park curb side & walk back to the trails.
I do hike quite a bit - the pge trail is still one of my favorite hike .. there are always very nice people on the trail --- not as busy as in the valley --- and the views are always nice except the typical hazy condition in the valley-- but take your time it is worth it round trip is approx 3 hours
Very muddy trail after the rains. Great view of the hills, mountains.
It was a great activity with my family. It is 2.5 miles hiking areas.
The best place in the south bay to workout
Bad direction ends in private road with no parking nearby.
It gives you a Beautiful view
Good way to test your stamina.
Parking is challenging here due to early morning runners. There are sometimes spot open around 10-11 am or at 3 pm
Beautiful but hard one!
Love this hike! Nature, fresh air, tough trails and ANIMALS!!!
One of the challenging hike in rancho san antonio open space. It is mostly shady during mornings. Not advisable for beginners. Black mountain summit can be reached from this trail. You can also see nice views of mountain view, Cupertino and los Altos.
Parking is impossible at 9am.
Simple trail to walk.
Great place to pump the heart
Park is great, parking is a nightmare.
Not too many bathrooms, but trail in decent shape. Not many benches.
It has its ups and downs.
