I first came here in 2016 after my fan girl phase of John Dillinger. The outside of the building doesnt tell you all the history it holds inside. Now visiting again in 2020, I was happy to see all the new renovations that had been made as a result of the hard work of volunteers and the funds theyve raised. We were now able to see the second floor of the Sheriffs House and had more of a private tour (thanks to Covid) of the jailhouse. The volunteers are very friendly and welcoming and have lots of stories to share! The jail part is very original and the tour guides are able to describe how everything worked when the jail was in use. I almost convinced myself to have my 21st birthday party here as Im very fond of Dillinger. Maybe when I get married Ill rent it as the venue
I am a lead investigator with THINGS Paranormal team. (See us in Facebook at THINGS Paranormal World Wide. We did a meet and greet with several other paranormal investigators, interested parties and friends. We conducted an investigation and captured some compelling evidence. It’s am interesting place to visit (see the jail cell where John Dillinger stayed and escaped from using a fake gun). The folks managing the place are super nice as well.
