Gorgeous, peaceful and serene.

Its a nice open space which hosts the weekly outdoor market each Friday during nice weather. It took me a while to figure out how to get here, as you can see it next to the Rt9 exit, but it appears closed from main street. Boat launch, picnic tables, commonly people fishing, bathrooms, small garden, walking path.

Cool CT river find in Cromwell. Well off the beaten path so not many folks around. Lots of bird activity and one drone. Plenty of parking and several park benches / tables and a pavilion.

Fun hike! I went with my nephew and walked all the way through to the CT river! You can look across to Portland, CT! Although alot of the view may be obscured by the highway (i.e. Route 9) depending on where you hike. Cromwell residents utilize the area primarily as a hunting ground so be careful and dress with light, florescent colors! All in all a nice hidden gem for nature lovers!

This is a beautiful area to visit. Surrounded by nature, you can relax and enjoy getting back to a more natural state of being.

Changed my review 4 to a 1 from last year. If youre looking for safe place to stroll dont come here. Cant walk (or ride bikes or jog ) on the road safely with kids or pets because people use this supposedly scenic 25 mph 3/4 mile road as their personal drag race strip to race to the dead end. Please beware of this. Speed bumps are desperately needed down entire road especially when the 100s of people going to the healthy farmers market speed past you and your wee ones. Not family, dog friendly if you like to walk. Nice event that attracts hundreds of speeders rushing to go shopping! Ill only drive there now that several times drivers give you less than 12 18 at 40 mph with little kids on bikes or squirmy eager pups on leash that are at risk. Friday market itself is a really nice location overlooking the river. Good products. Saw a Private boat launch area, lots of boats to watch also: saw NO fishing signs if youre a Fishing person. Parking was a tad of a challenge but worth while. If your looking for a short, quiet walk on the road, be prepared for rude cars driving way too fast, but, visit the market have a picnic, the river adds a lot to look at. Pizza places around the corner are good. Couldnt get back onto route 9 going northbound, BUT southbound brings you to Middletown. Another nice river place to go try highlands park if looking for a nice peaceful river area without cars. But again expect fast rude drivers on River Rd.

Nice for a little fishing and see some wildlife, beaver swam around and then we saw a Bald Eagle flying overhead up stream in search of the stripers running
