Newton County Turner Lake Park

Wonderful trails, healthy forest, beautiful lake, lots of amenities for the whole family. I will definitely be back. Also free parking

Love it here, so does my Grandson. He loves seeing and feeding the ducks. Great place to take children and adults also. We enjoy the picnic tables under the shade trees, Make sure you bring a picnic lunch or dinner. One of the times we went, my grandson fed a squirrel! I have tons of pictures. Bring your camera to capture those special moments!

Very nice relaxing place to come,nice in the fall with the colors.

It is lovely and peaceful. Nice place for kids to ride a bike. My only problem is the duck poop on the paved pathway near the lake. Which can not be helped. Other than that it is clean and well maintained.

Such a beautiful peaceful place for single people or families. The lake is a great place to take kids to fish. There are several easy walking trails to walk and benches along the lake and some of the trails to sit and take a break, or just enjoy the piece and quiet and the beauty of the area.

Our go to place for a walk, to get some fresh air, walking around the lake, fishing or just having a picnic.

Love this park. Its great for kids. They have a Dog park, playground, ball field, Nature trails and a lake to feed the ducks

What a great place to go boating on the Yellow River. It was my first time being there. We went there to support some friends at the output as they were returning with a group kayaking. The only thing I would say is, there should be larger & more visible signage on the main road to point the way. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars.

Ive been going here for years and we discovered new trails today. I have always loved coming to Turner Lake

Great park, nice place to take young kids, bring some food for the ducks and they will surround you awaiting you to toss them a little.

Clean store. No long lines.

My boyfriend and I go there atleast once a week to eat dinner with the squirrels running around and walk around the lake at sunset. Peaceful relaxing and perfect!!

Beautifulllllll me and my kids LOVE this place. The lake is AMAZING and the ducks/ geese are gorgeous. The kids love feeding them and spotting the families of turtles. Awesome and convenient walking trail around the lake with a playground for kids and its surrounding a recreation center with multiple activities as well

Its nice, better if access to bathrooms all the time. Porta potties in Georgia in the summer is horrible.

I dont like the park. Its next to a ball field and it doesnt seem pleasant or peaceful. A lot of people use this park. It has a lake and seems it could be made better

We found this area through our trails app and didnt realize that it was a park and nature complex!We started our trip at the dog park, letting our pooch off lead to get out some of his built up energy from being indoors all week. The area was a little overgrown, but that might be due to reduced maintenance during COVID19.Next, we explored the walkways around the lake. (It took us a minute to find those area, if you see the baseball stands, head past there to get to the lake.)The paths lead to a few walks in in the forest. These trails range from paved to rugged. They also range in clarity from well marked to ... I think this might have once been a trail. We were really surprised in the number of criss-crossing and winding trails. The course we set ended up being a 4 mile hike.We want to return and check out some of the trails and paths. This park definitely has more to offer than it initially seems.

With the new addition & remodeling of the existing facility this only enhances an already vital resource for the residents of Newton county.

Very quiet and peaceful surroundings. Perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Great place for people of all ages

Go there for grandbabies baseball softball and basketball games. Nice clean facility. Bathrooms always clean. They have several baseball fields and can have 2 basketball games going at the same time. Plenty of parking.

As senior citizen I am participating in the senior program at Turner recreation center. Offering many opportunities for me from games to art, companionship and a chance to have a good time with new friends. Theres too much to text about so call and join in on all the functions.

Another wet dreary day but there were a lot of ducks and geese out. There must be at least 40 to 50 geese. It is a fairly large lake theres a recreation center and baseball fields here and a senior center. There there is also a path to walk around the lake and there are fish stocked here. There is also a handicap fishing Pier if that is of importance for relevant. There is also a nice bridge that crosses over thea nice bridge that crosses over the lake.

I have been to this park about 10x now & it is very nice. I go for the trails & the lake basically. But they do have a recreational room with multiple sports played, baseball field, playground etc... They have organized sports for adults or kids, senior activities & you can fish in their lake. It is a very clean, peaceful park to go to & the staff is always friendly. I definitely would recommend.

They need to allow small boats with electric motors on the lake.

Its was a great place! Fishing kinda sucked but i did catch a 6 ft snake so it was all worth it

This park is amazing. Nothing i can really say bad about it. Only is though watch out for duck poop because there is ALOT of it.

Beautiful scenery and Great place for a run but terrible for fishing. Lake needs to be restocked with fish

Scenic view,quiet walking paths. Linda in the senior center very friendly and helpful. There are several classes to choose from and keep you busy. Transportation and meals yo meet your needs. Inside walking trail to stay cool or warm depending on the weather. I enjoyed my visit!

Its a beautiful place to go fishing

This is one of my favorite places to walk. It has a new dog park, lots of trails along side a lake, and a playground for kids. It also has fitness oriented stuff inside with recreational sports like basketball, baseball ect.

Love the views while running here. There is an asphalt trail as well as a beautiful and peaceful nature trail. Great place to run with your dog especially on the nature trail. Also nice for bikes on the asphalt.

Its beautiful and safe here. Good family place. Could really use more restrooms and some open all day concessions. The scenery makes up though. Wildlife watching and fishing also. Ill take pictures next time and post them

Amazing and peaceful but the playground has a lot of mold on it and I decided not to take my kids to the playground part any more which is sad because I do wish it was something our community could do about it! The kids love it there.. I love it there!

I love this park. My boys and i go here alot to exercise or to just play and watch the ducks. If you need a place to walk/run or to get some serenity this is the park for you. One of my favorite parks in Covington.

Beautiful park. It is always clean when I go no matter what time of day. Friendly staff. Bathroom are exceptionally clean for a park. I love walking there.

Clean fun safe place for the family

The new dog park is not an a dog park worth visiting! Too small, no where for dogs to run and someone put bags too large in the container to pick up poop! Back to the drawing board. Reseach dog parks in Decatur especially if you want to see what a REAL Dog Park looks like. Turner dog park is a joke!

Its a good place to have a nice outdoor party on the pavilion, and the building is nice as well. The lake is very nasty, and a horrible place for all the wildlife there. Its filled with trash and grime. Also, the restroom facilities need to be upgraded. The outhouses are disgusting.

Having recently moved to the area, I found this gem of a park for scenic views and a nice walking trail around Turner Lake.

It has great amenities for the young and elderly.

I really enjoy the Scenery and things you can do around the park, I love to bring my dog and let him play in the doggie pins, walk the trails, and so much more

The Newton County Senior Services is a fantastic place for the seniors of our county to spend their days.They receive good meals for both breakfast and lunch with lots of fun activities to take part in. The seniors are all loved by the caring and loving staff and all of the volunteers that work with them daily. We all work together to see that their needs are met while having fun along the way.Try us you will be surprised!

Plenty of trails to walk

Love coming here. There are several nature trails at pretty low incline levels. Its usually pretty popular, as it has a few ball feilds. Theres a small play ground, a few docks, and free parking (as far as weve experienced).

I go fishing there but I havent caught that big one yet

If it wasnt for the trails around this park, it wouldnt be worth it the play ground is out dated the birds poo everywhere in front by the rec building I rather go out to another cities park more up to date

Awesome! Out Doors event and family area

Love the trail but they dont give good direction. So if youre new to this park just be mindful. I literally got lost on one of the trails lol.

Overall, this park is very suitable for many different activities. The lake though, has been quite filthy at times. Overall, I would still recommend it a place to get some good bodily exercise.

Really nice views, spacious and calm environment. Only downside is theres plenty of trash in the lake and it looks a little rundown because of improper maintenance.
