First time there. Very clean. Nice dog park area for my puppy to play. The dog park area is separated. There is an area for small dogs and one for big dogs. The trails are nice with lots to look at. We enjoyed our visit and will be back!
The volunteers have done a great job decorating with Christmas lights.
I walk in the park in memory of my wife. She loved it there even though she was only there once. Great place for families and kids alike
Fun place to go and let kids explore all the interesting pieces
Very nice we were there for pictures very clean
Best walking trail around! This place is so beautiful and peaceful I go walking with my best friend, baby, and dog. And we always have the best time!
Chimney Park is a beautiful park full of nature and serenity. I went there with my twin teens and they really enjoyed themselves. The park also leads to a walking trail. We walked, talked and sometimes we just silently enjoyed the lovely sounds of nature. Chimney Park also has a place for your dog so they can enjoy the beautiful outdoors also. The dogs area consists of two fenced in play areas. There is a small fenced in area for small dogs and then there is also a larger area for larger dogs. We plan on bringing our little doggie there soon. Chimney Park is definitely a place worth exploring. Find your serenity while enjoying the magnificent and soothing effects of nature.
This trail is perfect for a nice run, walk or biking. There is a dog park before you get to the trail and a nice area for the kids to play. Plenty of rest stops along the 2.5 mile trail. It is a one way trail so to get to and from your car you will do 5 miles. I didnt know that part when I went out there but it was worth the run on a beautiful day.
Nice and quiet place with a pretty trail.
The Twilight Event was truly amazing....wow! This was my first time attending. The Christmas lights were awesome...delicious hot coco, popcorn, hot dogs....the Christmas carols.....5 stars! The fire pit was also a great way to stay warm on this chilly night.
It has a walking path, both paved and unpaved. It also has fenced in areas for small and large dogs
This park is awesome to take a walk and enjoy the outdoors
Great walking park and playground creations! Highly recommend it!
The Christmas lights are great! The kids really enjoyed running through the lights, and actually ran into Santa who took time to talk with them. A+
Very nice dog parks. Very nice paths.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Twilight at Chimney Park each December. It is my FAVORITE Christmas activity to kick of the season. It has become a family tradition.
First time I had been there. We had family photos taken and this spot was a perfect place for them. Definitely recommend
Very nice place to go for a walk, or take the kids to play.
Nice park, trail is a good walk, dog park is large and well maintained.
Pretty basic park, looks like a set up more so for the holiday season. Old fashioned adventure Id say.
This park is tucked away behind the library in Newton County. It is quiet and serene. The artwork is quite unusual and very entertaining! I adore the work thats been done around the remains of the home where the chimney still stands. So many photo ops!! The park is just next to a lovely paved walking path.
Lots of things for kids to explore. Great place for photo ops.
The grandkids love this park, lots to climb and jump off of. I like the walking trail. There are no public bathrooms, though.
We love this little park for walks or to eat lunch whenever were in town. They have a dog park and kids play area. Cute fairy theme.
Very quiet and scenic.
Took my two little ones one day after coming from the nearby library. I’m not sure what I expected, but it wasn’t much. There were a few things back there, but mostly just open space. I allowed my five and six-year-old to run around for a bit, but that didn’t last long because when no one else is around it’s sort of creepy. Scratch that... it’s very creepy. Also, the “park” could use someone to maintain it considering the fact that it doesn’t look well kept.UPDATE 12/26/2018 (Added 1 star from 3 to 4 stars.)My husband and I were looking for a place to take our children to see some Christmas lights. We saw a few people mentioning Chimney Park, so since its ten minutes from us, we decided to give it a try. When we arrived there were a few people already there, but after maybe five minutes, it was literally just us. The park wasnt overly decorated, but it was nice. My two little ones really enjoyed running around freely; even though it was a little creepy with it just being us. Either way, they had a blast. What they loved the most was the covered bridged kind of thing. It was wrapped with a bunch of lights, and they just kept going through and dancing. We stayed for a least a half an hour just walking around and checking everything out. I honestly had a good time myself. As you can see by the few photos Ive uploaded, whoever decorated did a good job. I will definitely bring the little ones back again next year.
Nice walking trail with dog park
Beautifull park in the heart of Covington with a nice walking or bike trail. Theres different items made by very talented people like a giant centipede made out of truck tires.
It has a small dog park and a few attraction to see. They seem to be working on restoration of the park but there is much to work on. They have a wonderful display around Christmas but its pretty bare though out the year. Its nice to have a quite walk through the park but its not the best place to let children play.
Great Park very dog friendly nice scenery peaceful.
Wonderful Christmas Light display.
You will love this awesome place
No bathroom no where to go
Nice fenced in area for my dog to run. They had poo bags which are a plus
Nice park with plenty of room for the dogs to run around and there is a walking trail through adjacent woods.
I love this park, its hidden away from large crowds but still has nice walking and biking paths and great scenery!
What a cute place.! I loved it. Such a cute and quaint and sinple park wotg so much character.
Great little park in town yet quiet and secluded enough to feel like you are miles away from anyone.
Great little park where you are invited to look for fairies and even build your own fairy castle.
Great for picnicking
Its such a quiet, peaceful place if you go midday (I often walk on my lunch break), and there are quite a few Pokestops.
Pretty cool. Glad to find the offleash dogpark! Nice walking trail. Needs a bathroom at the parking lot.
The dog park is nice, despite the lack of grass
Public park tucked away behind the library. It would be nice if were better maintained. It has a fairy theam with fairy houses, circles, etc.... And a very good jogging trail. With a nice hill to climb. Its wooded. Lack of people there make it a little creepy. ....
Very disturbed knowing there are homeless people living in the park
Nice family friendly park. Has a Dow walk area. And a jogging / bike path.
A hidden gem behind the Newton County Public Library. Supported by volunteers, this park is specially designed to be accessible to all residents. The restored foundation and chimney are a beautiful setting in the woods.
Great place for family pictures
Pawesomee
Beautiful trails and areas to walk.
So peaceful. What a great place to chill.
This is adorably whimsical little park. Great for a photo op or to work off some energy before visiting the adjacent library. However, there arent many place for sitting, or bathrooms.
Two dog parks - One for large and one for small dogs.
A great place to run, walk and bike. Also a great place to build a fairy house, picnic, walk your dog or run in the dog park.
We love the park, and look forward to the Fairy Festival all year. The transformation into a magical fairy land and the creative activities are amazing!
Its pretty meh but a nice shaded walk
A great place to spend time with friends and family. Walk the trail or ride your bike, or take your furry friend to the dog park. A place for I spy a fairy house just outside Covington library
Great Experience
Directly behind the County Library and Newton County Health Department. This is one end of a 5 mile trail (paved) between the Library and Eastside High School. The park is quite small but interesting. There is a dog park adjacent to the trail. The Chimney is the only standing part of an old Church from the Civil War era. The foundation is still there with only the front door propped up opening to the empty foundation. All walls gone. Steel girders reinforce the chimney to prevent it from falling. The town of Covington is historic with many of its Antebellum homes restored to original splendor.
This park is a lot of fun. they hold festivals often that are very well done and reasonably priced. the Christmas lights are so beautiful and the fairy festival is the best.
One of the most beautiful places in Covington, it’s always a treat to spend 15 minutes relaxing here!
Amen God forever and thats right I love you too
Fun park at the library end of the east side walking trail.
Great place to go for a stroll and let the fur babies play.
Sandys Dog Park was damaged by Irma, but is repaired and usable! What a great off leash park!
Great place to take your dog, either in the park or on a trail
Keeping art alive. Absolutely love it here.
Great place to Take the kids and explore my son loves it
Nice and quiet. Pretty and unique area with a walking trail.
Great place to take the kids or go for a walk
Very enjoyable can walk my dog no problem! Citizens very dog friendly!
Nice little park which sits behind the library and the beginning of the east side Newton trails.
Great scenery. Lovely trail to go for a quick run or walk.
Nice park with cool features for kids.
Cute park with a walking trail (5 miles). Not so much like a place youd go for a picnic, mostly for a walk or run, and they have a dog park.
Great place to walk, ride bikes or skateboard
Unique, peaceful park next to the library.
GrandKids loved it!
I think it is currently under renovation.
It good

Great place for a walk. Check out the lights at Christmas time.
