This peaceful .7 mile boardwalk loops lazily through woods, grass fields, and marshes. Nearly constant bird chatter and many beautiful views. Tree cover protects you from the sun for much of the loop. A sign at the trailhead lets you know if boards will be slippery. Several benches and informational viewpoints to stop at along the way. Visitors are encouraged to go counter-clockwise which is also helpful while social distancing. Interesting and accessible for most ages and abilities, a fast favorite.
Short, easy hike, close to town. Great place for a quick escape. Kid and dog friendly boardwalk hike with few visitors
A nice flat stroll over boardwalks in a nice wooded wetland (aka swamp). Really close to Corvallis so convenient for quick hikes.
Ok good for a leisurely stroll
It is what it is, and I like that it’s gently aging in place, becoming more like just a part of the natural growth. Good place for walking very small dogs and anyone who must use assistance to get out into a natural environment. Thank you, Corvallis, for keeping this spot as well as you have. Beautiful in winter as much as any season.
Beautiful day to walk at JF. Everyone doing well with social distancing and not over crowded. Lots of birds out but for those with allergies beware, the grasses are in full bloom.
Very nice trail open year round no mud or anything silly like that because its a raised board walk. Perfect for a relaxing walk. Lots of benches with nice views and information signs about the wet lands along the path.
Great ~2/3 mile board walk around a wetlands
Fun place for a peaceful walk. Come see the cool wood path
A beautiful little 2/3 mile loop on the outskirts of the city. ADA boardwalk and beautiful in any season. I especially like the spring when the red-winged blackbirds are calling and courting, or the winter when the trees are bare and the miss is dripping from the rain.
Stroll along the raised boardwalk. Watch birds in flight. Enjoy this quiet refuge tucked away in North Corvallis.
The wooden walking path is a MESS AND DANGEROUS
Nice open trails very beautiful one of my favorite hiking spots with my dog
This is a hidden jewel. Go to their website and read the history of this land and what their plans are to return it to a more natural area. Then go there frequently and walk the boardwalk and watch the transformations of not only the changes being made by man, but the changes that occur throughout the year as the seasons affect the land and water. A lot of thought and planning has gone into this small area, and I cant wait to watch it evolve.
Easy walking with good views and plenty of wildlife for the size of the place
Beautiful place, short 1+/- miles. Remember to go to the restroom before coming there is not one here.
A beautiful walk through the wetlands. I came all the way from Seattle and was not disappointed.
Great start. Happy to see some preservation and renovations are scheduled.
I love the wetland
A beautiful, spiritually-renewing place to contemplate the turning of the seasons. You can do laps on the elevated walkway (which is about 2/3 of a mile long). Birds abound, and the occasional snake or nutria pops up, tadpoles and young fish populate the pools. Its a peaceful place
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING I HAVE TO SAY IT LOOKS VERY DIFFERENT FROM WHEN I WAS FIRST INTRODUCED TO IT 27 YEARS AGO BUT STILL AN ABSOLUTE MUST SEE IF YOU ENJOY JUST GOING FOR A SIMPLE STROL WITH A LOVED ONE AND NICE SCENARY
Nice boardwalk not to far out of town. Great time.
A great place for a quick nature walk.
This is a nice quiet place to take a walk
Im not sure why this place has its own Google review section. Its an interesting path made of wood that goes out into some wetlands. Its interesting because its made of wood but other than that youre just kind of walking into a field with some trees. When the waters High you sort of walk out into a swamp and I suppose that has its appeal. Anyways if youre looking for a walk on a wooden path in nature this is your place.
Beautiful walk. It is a great place to take the family.
Very beautiful any time of year
Came here when visiting grandpa. Fun walk with pretty sights.
It looked pretty cool but I only saw it during one of the seasons.
Harry Potter/pokemon hot spot. Also mosquito breeding ground zero.Be careful to look where your feet are going here. The board walk is made of wood to preserve the habitat, but weathering can make it slippery when wet in places and the boards and nails are allways in need of repairs in places. There are also times i see people off the path, I believe theres a group that might not be too savery that hang out at night. So be safe and remember its closed after dark and probably isnt terribly safe after then as well.
Very relaxing, beautiful area to visit.
Really nice boardwalk. Great scenery and there are usually waterfowl chilling in the center of the wetlands
Love it. Great place to walk and see wildlife.
Beautiful short walk love walking with my family!
A beautiful Fall day.
Great refuge not far from the city of Corvallis (it is in Corvallis)
Nice wooden county path. Lots of animals.
The outdoors part of it is great! The boardwalks and signage, on the other hand, are in need of repair. The non-natives like the Reed Canary grass and Himalayan blackberry look like they may try to take over. Still a nice place to get away to!
Overall, it is a good place for a calm relaxing walk. The walk around the place is not that long, it takes approximately 12 minutes. The scenery that you encounter while walking is beautiful. It is especially beautiful at sun-set times. nevertheless, you have to notice that a lot of bugs come out at that time, which is the only down-side of it really. So if you hate bugs, that is not the time to go
Beautiful nature walk great for bringing your dog to sniff and explore. It started raining during the walk and was an absolute peaceful blast. I make it a point to visit every time I am in Oregon.
The board walk was enchanting and provided a great path for my toddler. The old orchard trees add an interesting, historical element to the walk.
It’s only 2/3 of a mile, I prefer longer trails. Also the boardwalk is in pretty sad shape, the whole time I was walking I was worried I’d fall through the rotting wood or parts where nails were coming loose. The scenery is pretty, but it’s only a 15 minute walk.
A nice boardwalk through the marsh in high summer. Older but beautiful.
Hates dogs.
Fun, easy walk on a boardwalk through the wetlands.
Very nice place to saunter around on the boardwalk and take in the natural wetlands there.
Great for people with wheelchair to connect with nature
I love going here throughout the year, as it is constantly changing !
Beautiful area to walk or jog in. Be careful in rainy or cold seasons, as the boardwalk can be VERY slippery! Its well maintained and its obvious that those who are in charge of the wetland are continuously working to improve it both as a destination for humans to enjoy and a habitat for our native flora and fauna!
Its a flat, short and easy walk for kids. Plenty of shade and places to sit.
Always a pleasure to take a nice stroll on the boardwalk!
Love coming here to clear my mind. The path is well maintained and its usually never busy.
Year-round interesting observation potential of wildlife and vegetation.
The ash is crazy here. Big, wet ash everywhere. Y’all gotta see it.
Great great place to go
I love this place, its sweet, simple and feels like your out of town.
This is a great little place to go walking and see some nature. I saw three squirrels there today! I would give it a 5 but the boardwalk is kind of slippery.
So much nature, its beautiful.
Loved walking here!
Nice quiet relaxing place to walk and just listen, and peaceful place to think!
Been coming here for 11years now and still love it as much as the first time now I get to take my children there and they enjoyed the three quarter mile walk just as much as I do.
Great walk on the boardwalk seeing a much needed wetland having been preserved.
Nice place for a walk
The boards are slick as ever during rain and ice. Far worse than most places with similar terrain and environment.
Relly cool place
We go there a lot with my school and it is definatly a fun hiking place especially if you are interested in bird watching.
The boardwalk is wide enough for a person in a power chair, wheelchair or mobility device to have access to the park.
Well kept, nice board walk. Lots of pretty views and some wildlife, mostly birds.Several pokestops and two gyms too :)
Boardwalk through the calm wetland
Enjoyable wooded walking path. Super fun family walk with tons of Ingress portals.
This is a real treasure, and a most pleasurable walk!
My favorite place to relax and ground. There are two large deck areas where I can do yoga. Dogs are welcome, on leash, pickup of waste required.
Nice place to take a walk away from everything. No more than a mile, but worth checking out.
Nie place to take a walk and enjoy nature
A quiet place! The boardwalk lets you silently explore the lichen covered forest and takes you into the marsh where you might hear secretive Virginia Rails calling.
Beautiful walk. There are some old apple and plum trees that still give fruit.
Interesting today after the heavy rain, when we started around the boardwalk the entrance path had about an inch of water, but when we came out,we waded through about 5 inches, its still coming down from the hills...
A really pretty wetland to visit.
Fall, summer, winter, spring. My go-to whenever guests are in town. The boardwalk is laid out in a large loop with a few larger platforms that extend away from the main path. More than a few benchs are placed throughout the loop. Pleasant smells during summer and fall. A variety of birds can be heard during the day and a chorus of frogs at night in warmer seasons. High water in December & January, dry cracked mud in the summer. If its below freezing the boardwalk can become very icy- take caution. Also a great place for dogs. If you lke star gazing/photography the parking lot is just far enough to avoid some of the light pollution from Corvallis.
A lovely maintained park that people of all ages can enjoy!
I was doing a study here and it was a relaxing experience!
Great little nature walk
Scenic and easy walk.
Very nice place to relax
Love this place
Beautiful, nice walk, not destination
