Great work being done by the volunteers at this place. It is by reservation only, masks must be worn. We had our own tour guide who was friendly and informational. There are a good variety of coastal and non-coastal wildlife here, with a hospital and surgical operation on site. The visit is definitely worth the price, especially for such a worthy cause.
This was a really neat place. Its small and smells a little funny. But if your love for animals is a much as my families and I, you have to stop here. They have a good display of some really cool reptiles they have rescued, along with the sea turtles and birds. The tour guide that guided us around. She was really nice and informative.
Outdoor walking tour! Was nice activity for the price. Gift shop inside and was very interesting if you are a turtle lover!
Very informative and friendly staff. My family enjoyed seeing the animals.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time here! This is an amazing place, with amazing staff. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, and went into great detail about each of the rescues there. At $7 per adult for a tour, you cant beat it. Being a non profit organization, we know the money we spent there and the donation we left will be put to good use.
Took my 4 year old granddaughter she enjoyed it very much.
What a wonderful place to visit for yourself & also take your children . We were allowed to handle as many animals as possible but there are some that you just dont need nor want to handle. They have much more than sea life & save as many as possible. They try to release as many as possible back to their natural habitat but some are too badly injured. They have a permanent home here so please donate generously as the employees truly love these animals & want the best for them. A well hidden gem in the area.
Went here expecting more but still pleased with the experience. Kids had a great time, for the most part, and there was a nice variety of animals.I did take issue with the lack of ‘animal’ time, though; it felt very rushed during the small tour they give you. Also, many reviews say you can touch the animals or show pictures where the volunteer has the animal out, but this was not the case. I’m sure it has something to do with the volunteers experience, whether or not they’re busy, or maybe it has just changed.Still worth the visit and will most likely return.
Free to the public but they rely on donations so contributing is really the right thing to do. They do not ask and there is no pressure, theres a box up front for any donations you choose to make. Staff are volunteers and very informative and helpful. They take you personally on a little tour and give you the story behind the animals. In no way do they seem irritated, in a hurry or bbn put off by showing you the animals, letting you take pics and answering questions. Great place working for a great cause. Would definitely visiti again.
Our tour guide was amazing and extremely knowledgeable! She took her time and answered all our questions and was SO friendly. I highly recommend stoping by and supporting this SeaCenter. And be sure to pet Jackson the possum!
Loved how handson and personal the volunteers are. One of my favorite things we have done on vacation.
It is small but they have a variety of animals and all of the volunteers were so sweet. It is $5 per person for a tour because they are run on donations (thats how they care for the animals they have.
Great place. Cute and friendly animals (especially Jackson the possum) as well as knowledgeable and amicable staff. Its also great to know that they put a lot of effort into the care and rehabilitation of the animals that stay there.
This place was so neat. The volunteers are very nice and informative. More up close and personal than a zoo or aquarium.
Such an amazing time we had! I love how they save turtles and they explained so much! The staff was so amazing with my special needs child! It was a great experience will definitely come back!
Awesome people doing an awesome job rehabilitating and taking care of a wide variety of texas wildlife. The staff were super. We had no idea they had birds of prey like hawks, kestrels, and cara-caras. You also get to see up close sea turtles and a variety of huge dry tortoises. 4.5ft monitor lizard, rock Squirrels, and reptiles.
A great stop with the kiddo!
The Texas Sealife Center is a great place for youth and adults to provide their time, work, and energy to serve sea turtles, sea fowl, and a large variety of other animals, native and foreign. They work diligently to care for the animals they have. They have the knowledge and the willingness to fight for all sea animal welfare. They are trying to fight the sea turtle disease Fibropapillomatosis.
The building was a bit small. But for the 5$ price I believe it was worth it. Wish they more to offer. But I guess it was good. My kids did enjoy it tho. When they got to pet the snake.
I like what they are doing but site says donation based arrive and you will be told you are not allowed out back without a guide and by the way that cost 7.00 Each. Fro. What I saw out the back door. I will pass. Gave a small donation looked around inside. Not worth the visit.
Grandchildren loved it. Hands on experience and educational fun
My kids still talk about this place! It is small, but that are doing a lot in that space! We loved the personal tour with a guide who was very patient with my 3 and 6 year old. They are doing good work, and I was happy to support it!
Nice place to visit. Very informative. Good cause.
For $5 I wasnt expecting a personal tour! For those used to big zoos and other reptile collections, dont expect too much. They have the typical pet store snakes and lizards in homemade exhibits. However, they have some great stuff outside, include up close to sea turtles, and a variety of tortoises and even some pretty exciting birds.Itll take an hour or less to look at everything. Although they dont say it specifically on their website the business hours listed on their website is when they are open to the public for tours. In case you are hesitant about dedicating the time and money to visiting here, keep in mind they are doing really good work for helpless animals, and $5 is a very modest amount to ask for when providing a tour. I decided to buy a refrigerator magnet because I didnt think $5 was enough.
I wanted to love this place. Unfortunately it is very run down and small. The inside is free and the outside is $5 per person. We had not decided to go outside yet and an old lady told the child at the counter to make sure they dont go outside. Very poor taste especially when the place needs all the money it can get. We saw the outside through the fence as we left and it was just a couple of small tents with 1 or 2 turtles along with 1 or 2 raptors.Save the money and go to the beach and walk the pier. You will see way more sealife than at the Sealife Center... Total disappointment!
Doing a great job to rehabilitate turtles, tortoises and birds. Come and visit and make a contribution to conservation done by team of volunteers.
Super educational and fun experience
Dont be put off by the exterior of this place. When we arrived I nearly just walked out and left. I am so glad I didnt. The tour was really great. The guides were super informative on the rehabbing patients as well as what it takes to make this place work. They have many different animals who are just visiting, until they can be released back into the wild. They find it people being in animals. While there, 2 different animals were brought in and they received them without hesitation. Although very unassuming, a definite pin drop in your map of your in this area.
Amazing volunteers! A definite place to check out on the island.Tours are $5 a person, but worth every penny because the donation goes to helping rescue and rehabilitate local Sealife. The tours last about 30-45 minutes and are given by the knowledgeable volunteers who have spent time with the animals. Also a great place, no matter the season!
Texas Sealife Center is a must visit if you find yourself in Corpus Christi. Small and unassuming, it is easy to miss if you are focused on going to the beach or to Slitterbahn, but well worth the hour or so stop it takes to visit the rescued wildlife. For a small donation (we paid $5.00 a person) the volunteer guides will walk you through the facility and allows up close and personal access to the variety of animals who are either rehabilitating or are permanent residents. Out back are the injured sea turtles, some such as the turtle named Tank are unable to go back into the ocean hence they have found their forever home at the center. My boys ages 14 to 24 loved the experience. The center does a great job with the limited resources they have since they run on donations. If your and animal/sea life lover, stop in, you wont regret it!
I volunteered here and it was a great experience. I recommend this as a community service hours location.
Child at front desk was nice but other woman very rude. Said we just wanted to look around inside first, she said to other staff member make sure they dont go outside! with quite an attitude, since you have to pay if you want to go see the pools in the back. Basically a little trailer.
For $5.00 you get an interesting tour of some interesting animals. The cruelty of humans might make you mad, the rescued animals seemed happy in their temporary home as they heal. Great way to see sea turtles up close and personal. Good place for children.
I went to this place with my family, but at first we were skeptical about going in because of the look of the building. Since we love turtles and snakes we decided to go in. The staff is very nice and give you lots of information about the rescue animals.
Pretty cool place if youre thinking of a place to donate they really could use it
Friendly knowledge staff & guide was excellent. They really care for all the animals.I recommend anyone to the Texas Sealife Center.
Our guide Misty was great! She was really knowledgeable about all the animals and was fun and patient with our little ones. Lots of good things happening here!
Kids loved it. Volunteers are very knowledgeable and have a variety of animals in their care.
Great little place kiddos who are interested in helping animals
Extremely knowledgeable tour guide/rescuer. Well worth $5 donation. Spectacular and cool the kids say.
Good to learn how they are trying to save turtles. Staff was friendly
Great little experience that I highly recommend you check out, 10/10
This place is an awesome little treasure filled with dedicated volunteers who devote their time to rescuing a variety of sea life. It is a hands on and unique experience, but well worth it.
Great thing they are doing here. Its $5 for anyone over 5. See a few snakes, birds, tortoises and sea turtles. You get to see how they are being cared for and a volunteer tells you the animals back story and theyre goal to release them. My daughter enjoyed it.
Definitely worth the stop. Cheap, nice tour, friendly folks.
Rescue and rehab for Texas sealife and wildlife. These volunteers do such great work.
Rescue and rehabilitation center doing good things for the creatures of the sea, land and air. Pam our guide was awesome. A great place to visit and learn about local creatures and people helping animals.
I found an injured pigeon, eventhough the place was close, but the staff was happy to take the pigeon in for treatment. That was really nice of them.
Learned alot from the knowledgeable staff
Was a great tour awesome place good people.
Love what they can do it to save the sea life
Many thanks to those who work hard to help our sea life and other beautiful animals, Im so glad to learn new information just by visiting and seeing the animals here.
Great place to visit, learned a lot and the kids had fun.
Employees are very caring and the animals are so sweet
Fantastic tour of how this group is protecting endangered sea turtles. All donations are to help run the place and all workers are volunteers. My 7 year old granddaughter had a great time.
Thought this place took donations for tours but instead its a $5 charge per person. Staff didnt seem too excited to be there. What does the money go to? A dirty facility and suffering turtles? Wont be supporting this cause anymore.
This place was so neat! We really enjoyed the tour. It was fun and educational for the kids.
The place smelled terrible. The lady that showed us around wasnt very nice or informative about the animals she was showing. She wasnt good with kids either. The red headed guy was nice
I rescued a Barn Owl and delivered it to hopefully be rehabilitated
Guided tour was fun and educational, staff was friendly and they are doing a great service for the animals!
Excellent program! I really enjoyed the tour, and its exciting to see the rehabilitation focus they have. Definitely worth a stop.
Its nice how you remove bad reviews.
The work theyre doing here is amazing. They are helping so many turtles and other wildlife. While here visiting we donated to a great cause
Marcus deserves a recognization for his help there in aviaries. Very bright and caring. Also Shelby was so nice in giving her tours and she was amazing you can see her passion and how much time she spends there working towards a bigger picture. Amanda such a help there shes such a great person to have help with. She defiantly is devoting her time to conserve the wild.
Wonderful tour. So happy we could donate to their rehab efforts.
Really great staff working there you can tell they are passionate about what they do and the animals they take care of.
These people deserve an award! Taking down my imaginary hat!!! Keep it up guys!!!!
Visit more often and make donations. The work they do to help injured sea animals and unwanted exotic reptiles is phenomenal. It is a small rescue center but a worth while place to visit.
Small all volunteer rescue center. Very friendly staff to show you around tell you about the animals and explain what they do. They allow you to hold some of the animals that cant be released. I would stop again if ever back here.
Amazing place run by volunteers. A must go to place.
Interesting texture varying for a variety of animals. $5 per adult for the tour.
Definitely a must do!..great tour...all for a small donation
Great place, very friendly and knowledgable staff. Got to see the animals up close.
Its a really cool place to walk around and look at the animals, though do be weary the smell is a bit rank though other than that its great especially for kids.
Nice place for a quick visit to learn about saving the turtles.
This is a donation run facility and all volunteer staff. I walked in paid $5 admission and expected to see turtles. Montse was the volunteer who charged my admission. She also gave the tour and background on every thing in place. She explained how the animals got to the facility, how they have been treated and what they should eat. They have squirels, snakes, lizards, turtles, and birds. She was very informative on any questions we asked. Very cool place. You must stop by.
Took in an injured pigeon immediately. Thanks a bunch!!!!!
Great tour of saved sea creatures and birds. A good way to spend an hour or so with kids of all ages.
Wow. This center is completely run by volunteers. As of 2016, it has been open 2 years. Theyve helped rehabilitate and release hundreds of animals who otherwise wouldve died. Sea turtles, pelicans, egrets, and many other gorgeous animals. Pam gave us a tour. She even showed us some butterfly eggs underneath milkweed plants. I learned so much about local plants. What a gem.
They specialize in wounded sea or abandoned pet turtles. They currently have 44 wounded sea turtles. They educate you about how trash can effect the turtles as well as how they help them. Very educational.
This small museum has help in many ways our wildlife in land and in Sea... its $5 per person and they do tours and explain what they do and how to conserve our wildlife... Not to mention that all of the proceedings go to funding their medical expenses in the animals and their habitats with in the museum...
Great place to visit and support their efforts.
I love the Texas Sealife Center everyone there is amazing just great the animals are so cool what they do there is just wow. Thank you for protecting are wild life.
The tour is great, 5 bucks a person 5 years and older, well worth it, great information about their animals they are rehabbing. Its great to see what they are doing for these animals.
Very interesting and informative tour - the kids loved it!
Friendly staff! Great tour with Faith as our guide. Sweet girl, well informed, and very patient with my twin girls! :) loved it!
We had a great evening of trick or treat at their Halloween Haunted Trail. It was only $10 and all the money went to save the turtles and birds. Its an excellent place spend the afternoon
