It’s a classic movie theater, literally there’s nothing else, no popcorn, no drinks, but the place was super clean, the lady on the blockbuster was super nice and the movie was amazing. Watched: And then we danced, I think there’s no other movie theater in miami showing that motion picture.
Great spot. Great selection of titles. We just discovered it and cant wait to be back!
Absolutely great films shown. Parking is a challenge, but otherwise the venue is great for film lovers.
Love the films they show. One of Miamis noted art cinemas.
This is a hidden gem for independent and foreign movie lovers. The cinema is located in the UM campus with ample parking space. Might not have reclining seats and all that fancy stuff but its worth every penny.Edit: Parking used to be free, but the if you can charge for something, do it mentality stepped in.
Good to know about. Solid art theater and inexpensive
Excellent venue. I highly recommend it
Watched Jexi screening. Enjoyed it!
Great cinema. I used to go every week-end and watch every film showed, without exception. It was free for students and discounted for everyone else. Often the theater was empty. The films showed at that time were independent films and foreign films. A gem in a town otherwise befect of decent cinema.
Waited an hour for a special pre-screening of Bohemian Rhapsody with the actors from the film, which was open to the public. I was given a ticket that indicated my place in the queue. As soon as the doors opened, the queue of people that had been waiting several hours was told that UM students would be given priority entrance (meaning students that could walk in right before showtime with priority over the queue of the general public). NOWHERE on the promotional material for this event did it specify that this was a student organization run event and UM students would be given priority. Our only consolation was free tickets to another screening of a different film after waiting another hour to write our emails down. If this is how this venue does their regular productions, I would suggest waiting until the film actually comes out and taking your patronage to the AMC unless youve got a spare 50K to enroll at UM.
Cozy theater in the UM campus. I mainly saw older folks and Im not particularly sure if thats the norm there since Im a youngster. Personally, the theaters curved screen or odd edge filter nauseated me. It may be just me since I sat there for approximately 6 or 7 hours, but even after 1 movie I started feeling the effects of the filter. Its still a good theater though with a really big screen. There is a vending machine outside for snacks and you may take a stroll in the grassy UM area. Not far from the University train station either.
Love going to this cinema but I consider unnecessary to charge for that parking when theres always spot available.UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI IS ALL ABOUT MONEY.
This is a great theater for the University of Miami. Ive attended several screenings and this is an intimate venue for independent films, student productions, and feature films.
One of the worst and most disorganized theaters in Miami. We were there for the queen movie screening, we waited in line for 2 and a half hours, and staff even gave us a number to get in. Only 5 minutes before opening the doors, they told us it was for students only and that we were not getting in. More than 100 people who PATIENTLY waited in line didnt get in. Most of the staff was very rude to us and said it wasnt their fault since its a private school...then dont post on every social media and make public a private event!!! So, if you hear about a screening, dont even bother to go, you wont get in!
Love it. Great indie movies as well.
Cool and retro movies
Could someone at the Cosford Cinema read the reviews and erase all those comments regarding Bohemian Rhapsody premier, of those who wanted a freebie-not paying for a movie that is YET to be release, please erase them, to those who complaint so horribly, if its FREE you dont have a say so, good or bad, you chose to waste your time for free.
Nice but no concession
Great small campus-based cinema where you can catch many indie films and documentaries that you wouldnt find in the regular chains. From time to time they also show more recent flicks as well. Tip: if you are a UM student or employee, you get a discount! Take a visit to this community movie theater.
Don’t waste your time coming here!!! We made a line for 2 hours because is suppose to be first come first served and 5 minutos before the event someone came out and said students only. Very rude stuff after everybody’s complain and it end it up with police having to show up to handle their disorganization.
Went for the queen movie. Was advertised free for the public “first come, first serve”. Apparently Students had priority which wasn’t advertised as such. Waited close to an hour and others waited longer. So very poor job of this event and should’ve advertised as students only instead
Extremly rude staff, they did a public screening and after 3 hours waiting they change their mind 10 min before the movie. What a shame a university such as this has this low level of politness.
A quaint place, very clean and organized.
Great little place with a major movie theater quality screen.
Its a quiet cinema. Spacious, well-set, I saw many people prepared and elegant.
Love the films they show here. The manager was my theater teacher at MDC!
Great little indie cinema on the University of Miami campus. Good selection of indie films, great pricing, love going here.
Excellent movies selection, nice people around, plenty of parking. Love it!
Nice quiet place to enjoy indie films.
Flamming Classics is amazing, super cool vibe, 35 mm. Great selection!!!
UMs School of Communication shows Italian movies (award winning/nominated titles) every Thursday night at 7pm.
The shakes are great. Love the chocoshake, hard. However, the quality of the burgers are not proportionate to the price.
Watched an advance screening of Why Him?. Theater was nice and clean with ample space.
Artistic pieces, wonderful. Quiet place/audience.
Excellent movies and theater. Get there right on time or suffer the mosquitos by the waiting area if it can be called that way
Dated theater and smelly
Very inspiring
Foreign films and pretty surroundings.
Good films shown there, the guy of the box office is a little bit rude and doesnt issue recepits
Parking for non students is non existent
Free movies and culture
Expensive AF, not worth it
Hidden gem for film buffs
Great movies and shows from the University here!
One of Miamis many hidden gems. See movies you will never see in a major theatre, and see major movies at a discount price.
