Best dive bar & bartenders in town. Years in business to prove it. Drinks are cheap and straight forward. No fancy martinis & mixers. Crowd is as diverse as it gets and friendly to boot. Great local live jazz and bluegrass music. Cover charge of $5.

Its a nice little dive bar right on High St. Only downfall to the place is parking. Its more of a foot traffic type of place. 5 dollar shots of Jameson, 3 dollar Budweiser. Not to bad. I saw signs for live music as well. Charlie the bartender was very friendly and helpful.

Cheap drinks, grungy atmosphere - everything you expect from a hole in the wall. GREAT music from local musicians. This is the perfect place to sit in the corner with a friend and whiskey, and maybe get a round of pool in while enjoying some jazz.

Dicks is one of the few things I miss about Columbus. Located on campus filled with friendly people, cheapish drinks, and always some kind of live music from Jazz to Bluegrass. The perfect dive bar and one of the hidden gems for sure. Dont you dare miss out by coming here.

Why not? I’ve been coming here for years now- definitely my favorite watering hole-dive bar in town. The staff is wonderful and have been there for years. They don’t mess around. I a bar crawl? Don’t come. It’s not the scene you’re looking for and we don’t want you there. Great jazz and local musicians play throughout the week.

Fun little dive bar, very cheap drinks and live music. The bathrooms are kept pretty clean, theres a pool table and a covered patio. Dont try to get in if youre underage as they check ID at the door and are excellent at spotting fakes. They will throw you out. The music usually provided live is a collection of local jazz and bluegrass bands. Theres not much parking; people generally either park down the street or walk there.

Best bar in Columbus. The owners, the barkeeps and even the bar guests are top caliber. Take all of that and add in great live music and you have 5 stars. Do you like jazz? Here is your place. I call Dicks Dens walls and roof my second home for a reason. Every time I am back in town I always make this establishment a need ed stop.

This is consistently one of the best bars in town. It has a great dive atmosphere, and there are always a few people in there no matter what the time. The place is the local home of Jazz, bluegrass, and blues, and the bands they bring in range from excellent to amazing. The staff are always great, and the place just feels like home.

Amazing Columbus dive bar. This place is grungy in the most appealing way possible and the layout is perfect no matter what you want to do. It has a dark, but comfortable patio that lines the side of the building in the alley and is a great place to hang out and smoke if that is your thing. The pool table is in its own room separate from the main bar area so if you are looking to just shoot pool to yourself, that is an option. The main area of the bar features a stage with lots of good music, particularly jazz. Cheap booze, good people, relaxed atmosphere.

This place is an institution, and I am so grateful for it.I have been here many times. Obviously, I love jazz and they get all the big local names visiting. Drinks are dirt cheap, as is the cover. Service is extremely friendly. And the decor is from way back in the day and very unpretentious.

Simply the best Jazz spot in Columbus. From local legends to hungry up and comers from the area and outside of town, Dicks is an eclectic gem that maintains the character not found in stuffy Jazz lounges. My favorite venue for 5 years.

Dicks is a comfy and welcoming dive bar. We keep trying to catch a blue grass band, but weve never been able to make it on a Tuesday. The live bands we have seen have been ok, nothing great. We hear that its always packed on Tuesdays, so hopefully one of these days we will be able to make it. The drinks are super cheap and strong.

Im not a regular but I have been stopping here for 50 years. Not much has changed. Drinks are great, happy hour price is great, patron are friendly, jazz almost every night, (usually with $5 cover, sometimes free).Street parking is scarce, be prepared to walk or Uber/Lyft.I would give 5 stars because it is deserved but I dont want to mislead people who expect a destination bar.
