They are in the process of restoration and holding different events to fund it. They show old movies, on the lawn, through September. A classic and exotic car show. Magician Howard Thurston is entombed there and local magicians pay tribute by performing their magic including a Death by Chocolate buffet!! All proceeds fund their restorations.

Beautiful place that is back in good hands again.

This is a beautiful building that is undergoing massive preservation. Sadly, some of the stained glass windows were destroyed prior to the preservation and were lost to history.I wanted to volunteer and heard back but after multiple attempts at corresponding all became quite. It would have been an amazing opportunity.

The events and shows, movies included, and the yard sale (!) here are some of the most fun things you can do in town. The people making it all happen are friendly and really care about preservation efforts. Beautiful place to come.

The Green Lawn Abbey is such a beautiful place in the process of being restored. Everyone is so friendly and they offer tours. I went to a Movie Under The Stars last night and it was so lovely; you could just feel the positive energy around you. Weather you are just going to visit this amazing historic mausoleum or watch a classic movie, its sure to be an excellent time! Donations are always accepted and it feels great to know that Im helping with the preservation of a place that will be around for generations to come. I will be back for sure.

Low-key creepy but I think thats what they want

I realize the building has been vandalized many times but you can see everything by simply driving by. Dont waste your time stopping unless the facility is holding an event.I hope to catch an event someday.

Usually closed off inside, but a lovely memorial day event with cool happenings throughout the year. A true shout to the glory of the 20s.
