I had my palms tattooed here a couple years ago.They were his first ones in his career, and quite frankly he did superb given the canvas.Theyve lasted out very well, he applied proper pressure and was professional. Also, to me,very well priced.Been recommending this shop since my first time.

The business ethic and professionalism of this shop is top of the line. Cleanliness is number one and that is so important when it comes to a tattoo shop. When you walk in this shop, the art that surrounds you as your own imagination goes wild on ideas for your own tattoo go through your head. Steve was awesome! His line work and colors are on point! I was looking for an artist that was great with color and found a lot of artists colors were dull and muted. I had contacted 2 other artists and they werent willing to do the piece i wanted because of its watercolor elements. Steve was overly excited and made a few suggestions to clean up the piece. I learned unlike other artists who now want you to come in with the design already worked out he prefers to paint his pieces, this was amazing thing to me. His paintings throughout the studio are equally as beautiful as his tattoos. Steve is professional but yet very very hysterical. His studio is much more cleaner than anywhere else ive gone in Columbia too!

I went to Steve with a vague idea of what I wanted, not really sure how to explain it, and not 100% sure wht I wanted it to look like. He ABSOLUTELY nailed it! He is such an artistic guy, and I couldnt be happier with his work. Not only was the tattoo incredible, he made me feel like an old friend and its easily the most comfortable Ive felt getting tattooed. I live 2.5 hours away now and will travel without hesitation to be able to have him do my next piece, and the next ones after that. Im a lifer to Vision Quest!

Steve Phibbs is amazing. Cory does great work also, I have seen his work but I have not personally been to him. Steve has done all of my tattoos and several of my family members based off my recommendation. The studio is very clean, and they are true artist and very detail oriented. I let him free hand a sailboat on my side and absolutely LOVE it. I get compliments on it all the time. He is truly a talented artist on canvas and with ink. He put me at ease with thorough explanation of what to expect with the process as he did my very first tattoo and I was so nervous!!

Out of my 5 tattoos that I have, the one that Steve did was the best and my absolute favorite! He doesnt allow just copying something from the internet and putting it on your body-and for good reason! He tailors every tattoo to each individual person. If you would like a TRUE artist doing your body art then Steve Phipps is your man! He did a coverup of a coverup and it turned out even more amazing then I thought possible! I never got compliments before going to see Steve. I get numerous compliments whenever I have my tattoo visible. He can do any technique style as well. From watercolor looks, realism, cartoon, it doesnt matter, he can do it. Now, I will say this, he is a big ole teddy bear however he is very blunt and it may come across as being rude. Do not take it personal!! Its worth it in the end!!!

It was honestly fate how I got my latest tattoo. The first place was closed, another treated its costumers like chattle, and one was just rude. When I walked into vision quest I knew it was completely different.Steve Phipps is true artist. He doesnt just have one style, like a lot of artist seem to have. He is well versed in different styles, along with different mediums. When you walk into his shop l, youre first greeted by truly breath taking artwork all over the walls. It almost feels like a gallery. And just talking with him you realize, not only is he extremely knowledgable, but is extremely humble about his work.Needless to say, also to stop rambling, this is the best tattoo parlor in the Columbia area. If youre looking for something thats going to be on you for lifetime you better make sure its the best. Cory branham is an extremely talented artist. Dont go there to look at a book of tats, have an idea of what you want and he will make it happen. One of a kind tattoos and one of a kind artist. If you want the normal picture book tattoo, not your guy. If you want a unique tatto, your guy.

I googled Best tattoo artist in Columbia and Vision Quest popped up immediately. I received my first tattoo here from Phipps. He is professional, curteous, and very knowledgeable. I did a lot of research before I got my tattoo and I was nervous and afraid of getting a bad tattoo. Phipps answered all my questions and put my mind at ease immediately. Ive had two tattoos from Steve, one when I was 18 and then another 10 years later when I caught back up with him. He freshened up the tattoo that he did for me when I was 18 free of charge. If you want original tattoos and ideas, this is the place to go.

Bad customer service. Talked to me like we had a previous encounter with allot of sarcasm. Definitely wouldnt recommend wasnt comfortable at all.

I paid a $100.00 deposit on March 19th 2016 for a tattoo with Cory Branham and it was birthday gift for April 13th still no tattoo and cant contact him and thought I had an appointment still no appointment went to get my deposit back lol yeah right the owner is nasty and not responsible for his employees no refund no tattoo would never go there or recommend them again... He claims he cant contact his own employee what an excuse.... Very bad business... FYI I already have around 25 tattoos not my first rodeo very pissed ex-customer

As a trauma nurse, I see many tattoo nightmares. Having many tattoos myself, I have learned the hard way to let Steve be my only artist. He has already had to fix and/or cover up 3 tattoo nightmares that I received elsewhere.
