Best in town. I’ve been looking to get a half sleeve for years. After being ghosted by other artists and shops. I found 5 points. Went in and Devin was great I told him what I was looking for and he figured out what artist would work best for my tattoo. He hooked me up with Cool-aid. Cool-aid took my ideas and created a sweet piece. Never showed him any pictures, just listened to what I had jammed in my head and boom....Awesome sauce!!

I just got a few piercings done but have also been tattooed here before as well. Today, I accidentally got double booked, however, the piercer was very kind and apologetic. He did an amazing job with all of my piercings as well. I got my tattoo done almost 2 years ago and it still looks like I just got it done. Love 5 point and the artists there.

I lost my nostril piercings and stopped by to have them replaced. Ty was great with my kids, gave them things to play with and didnt even seem nervous or anxious they were there at all while he helped me get the new jewelry in.l lost one of the nasal studs a month later and stopped by again. Ty was quick to help me and offer future help if I needed it again. He was professional, gentle with my nose and again great with my kids. A+, 5 Stars, 10/10 would recommend Ty for any of your future piercing needs. Gold star from me.

Had my very first tatoo done for my 55th birthday. Dre did a great job, was very fun and a real pro. The whole shop has a great vibe. I definitely recommend them.

I made a tattoo appointment back at the end of June for July 25th. I was in hospital so had to call to reschedule.i got ahold of someone who said that since their computers were down I would get another call to reschedule a tat appointment as u can see its a couple days after September and still nuthin. Im highly disappointed becuz I was looking so forward to getting my tat finished there but as of right now I just wsnt my 200 deposit back and maybe come to them come to them some other time I have been calling for week or just the run around Im very very disappointed becuz I was looking forward to going to them but now Im just cool on it all

My experience with Dre was outstanding! I went in to discuss my design with him prior to me scheduling my appointment, and he was able to explain to me what he would be able to do with the designs I showed him. I had my appointment the following day, and the design he came up with was even better than what I had imagined! His abilities shined through even more when I couldn’t stop twitching while he was tattooing me—a fault of mine for not drinking enough water—and he was talented enough to not even be phased, and never once made a mistake! I am so impressed with Dre! I will gladly go back to him for my next tattoo, and I live in Oregon!

Love love love this place, even though I dont remember the tattoo artist that did my butterfly tattoo on my foot. Although that was back in 2008 and have since moved back to Davenport, Iowa. I am highly considering coming back very soon.

The piercer Ty made the whole process of getting my first piercing super fun and walked me through everything that was going on super great guy and I love my piercing! The only issue I had was it was a little on the pricey side compared to other shops.

You get what you pay for. I got an amazing tattoo at a great price. Craig charges on the low end of the range for his level. This was my first tattoo, after a lot of research I picked 5 Points & Craig for his style. I had an 8-hour session getting a half sleeve. The entire experience was better than I expected. The place is clean and well kept. Everyone was laid back, professional, and genuine. From Dylan at the front to the other staff and tattoo artists. Its been a month and the tattoo is amazing. I go in tomorrow for my 2nd tattoo with Craig and we have the 3rd one planned.Updated 4/28: I just had my 3rd tattoo today along with finishing the 2nd tattoo. I now have a full half sleeve on my right arm...roses on the inner and wolf & moon on the outer. Both tattoos are absolutely amazing! I had the same experience each time with Craig. He knows what hes doing and it shows. I uploaded the wolf & moon picture. Ill add the picture of the roses after they heal. The inner arm is more sensitive and was too puffy for a good picture.Updated 9/30: Finally made the time to get a picture of the roses since theyve been healed. All tattoos are amazing.Updated: My 4th tattoo of a clock on my left arm from 10/12

Made me wait for 20 to 25 minutes for a piercing/jewelry and I was next but they skipped me and helped the next lady. He had finished the customers prior way before than and still passed me. But according to the guy who assisted me who also spoke to her, well she didnt have an appointment only walk in as I did. I respect appointments but her and I didnt have one but I walked in first but of course she gets help because they knew her. Oh well!

Just got my tattoo done today.Mike did mine and I had a great experience. I was pretty picky with mine (I had him redraw the stencil a few times to get perfect) but he kept a super good attitude the entire time.He was super fun and upbeat the entire time he was tattooing, kept conversations going.The tattoo turned out amazing! Im absolutely in love with it.Mike will for sure be my go to for all of my future tattoos!

Had a 7-hour session yesterday, a fairly complicated cover-up piece. My artist was Craig, and he came up with a very original design. His work was excellent, and pretty fast, considering his attention to detail. The rest of the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was laid-back and fun, while staying professional. Very impressed, I will be back, and would gladly recommend them to anyone.

Yeah i was happy when i walked out but the next morning (after washing mildly with anti-bacterial soap and air drying for 10 minutes i applied saran wrap and went to sleep. Next day i removed wrap and repeated. A LOT of black ink came off in the plain water rinse. I mentioned it on their FB page & posted a photo and the rude response was it looks like its healing fine, so whats the grip and the 4* review. Hey-youre the tat guy. Black shouldnt wash off the 2nd day. I have 8 tattoos. Only one from 5 Point. And during the tattooing they were very disrespectful of women and the whole idea of women tattoo artists. Its a bunch of burnt out Pinterest-searching artist wannabes. My guy was there for 2 weeks. Wish i had known that. Condescending and overpriced.

Just got my first tattoo here and couldnt be happier. Dave walked me through the process and was very accommodating and helpful. He made the whole process much easier. The facility is clean and well taken care of. If youre going to get a tattoo here, see Dave and hell treat you right.

Every time I go to 5 Point they are phenomenal! All the staff are helpful and friendly, even if you arent their for that particular persons services. Janessa helped me pick out new jewelry the first time I was there. Then the owner helped me and my cousin pick out some more, really kind woman, and Leo pierced us both. Ive gotten the same piercing done multiple times and Leo is by far the fastest and most gentle piercer I have ever had. I wish I could have given him a waaaay bigger tip. Will definitely go back again.

I have had 6 total piercings (3 dermal implants, 3 regular) over the last 8 years at 5 Point, and have had a 5 star experience every time. The superior quality of their staff, procedures, jewelry, and knowledge are what keep me coming back!

5 Point studios is a great place for both piercings and tattoos. I have seen some amazing art work come out of there. Their piercing staff is phenomenal. There is a reason this shop carries the stamp of the A.P.P.( Association of Professional Piercers). A trip to them can really make your day.

I have been to 5 point several times and love it!!! Leo pierced my septum and Janessa gave me a daith piercing tonight. Both of them are amazing!! Very personable and explain the procedure and aftercare. They are a bit expensive but honestly worth every penny. They also have some of the most high quality, beautiful jewelry. Also very impressed with their professionalism. I almost feel like Im going to a doctors office when I get a piercing :)

I walked in and felt like 5 point was a good decision. I had sent all the correct information a month in advance for my tattoo. I came in to get my tattoo done and Charlie made me feel like a burden and an annoyance from the minute I had sat down. He had an entire month to analyze and create the stencil of my tattoo and the cross was completely wrong. He showed nothing but disrespect towards myself and my family who had come with me that day. The others that worked at 5 point seemed respectful and passionate about their work but in my opinion Charlie is NOT RECOMMENDED nor recognized as a quality representative of 5 point studios and their customer service.

I cant speak for the tattoo portion. But I had my nose pierced here in June 2016. The guy was absolutely amazing! But when I returned to have my nose ring removed in December the girl working was awful. She refused to remove the back off of my nose ring unless I bought a new nose ring from them. I drove 2 hours to have it pierced here and another 2 hours to have it changed. All I wanted was the backing removed. She treated me with such disrespect as if I was ignorant. Isnt it a customer service business?

Had my daughters ears pierced here. Excellent service, quality piercing and knowledge. Costs more than going to the mall for sure...but it is my daughters ear! Well worth it!

Tattoo looks amazing, but when he was finished, he recommended I keep the bandage on for an hour, go home and soak it under warm water for half an hour and then spread cocoa butter all over it.Doing what he asked me to would have faded the tattoo and burned profusely. I would recommend them for a tattoo, but look for care instructions elsewhere.

Got a very large and detailed cover up done by Craig a while ago. It looks absolutely great! Definitely worth the price. You get what you pay for.

They know their stuff, only issue is you pay for that quality, but since the work goes on your body its better to pay well for good work than to have regrets going elsewhere. 5point fan here, even rock their logo on my car.

I got a tattoo here and it was just a touch up from a tattoo I got a few years ago and the guy totally ruined it. I had what you call a blow out with your tattoo where the ink spreads under your skin and I learned it is from the artist not putting the needle in straight. Also bought over $200 of earrings from them and got them professionally put in my ears. I got the quote you wont be able to take these out on your own, so you will have to come back if you want them changed 3 months later the balls on the end of two earrings fell off without me even touching them.

I took my friends daughter to pierce her ear for her birthday and she picked a really cute studs and Leo did it for her and he was so awesome and so professional. It is a little bit pricey but totally worth it.

You dont have to love your job, but it IS your job and its your job to help your customers! Was very disappointed and wont be going there anymore except for piercings... Great service, I stop by to get a quote on a tattoo and they show me their artwork and was impressive, the quality of the work, I dont give them a 5 start rating because i believe is a little pricey, i believe they could be cheaper if they want, but they look professional, their work look great.

They do great work here and sell some beautiful jewlery, but it is very expensive. They only offer high end jewlery which makes piercings on the pricey side, plus a hefty piercing fee. However, I would say its worth it to save up, you will have better healing times and less lost jewlery than if you went to a cheaper shop.

Best piercing and aftercare Ive ever received. Leo Ziebol is amazing!! I went in to get a complicated ear piercing fixed, and he told me that it was too poorly done at the wrong angles to keep and never should have been done cause it didnt fit my ear. He also fixed my nose piercing, and then I went back to get my tongue and VCH done. The two he did for me were the only ones Ive had that healed quickly and never have had any complications with

I think every artist there does great work, but they all have different styles. I have noticed that when talking to potential customers they will refer those customers on to other artists there that they believe would match the style of tattoo wanted, which I would welcome with open arms a customer. Charlie is my go to guy. I have an entire sleeve from him and Im planning my other sleeve. Working in healthcare, I am constantly aware of the clenliess of shops and things that are unsterile/unclean and I can say this is the cleanest shop I have been to. Charlie is my tattoo guy and for piercing I found give full confidence in Leo and Janessa. I recommend everyone to come here. I read lots of these reviews complaining about price, but you get what you pay for. They have an amazing stock of jewelry on hand and can order anything else and it arrives quickly. The other peoples in the reviews dissing Charlie are off base or possibly crappy customers.

Had my tattoo done by a visiting artist, Dillon Hild. The atmosphere is pretty friendly and the tattooing area is hospital clean. Looking through the local attists books show a lot of talent. The piercer, Leo Ziebold, comes highly recommended as well.

The girl who pierced me did a good job, but she was so rude, my jaw was on the floor when she was talking to me. Also, fiercely over priced.

I would do zero stars if I could. Absolute worst tattoo shop in the Des Moines area. Myself as well as mostly everyone I have talked to has had absolutely terrible experiences here: experiences of being completely ripped off, told to heal their tattoos improperly, having shotty work done, or treated like theyre inferior to the workers. Their work is grossly overpriced, and they have no respect for the individuals that walk into their shop. If you want a personable tattoo experience, stay away because you will be treated like just another number. Be incredibly wary of what they put on your skin, as it has no guarantee of being an original piece and may very well be stolen blatantly from the internet while they claim to have drawn it (oddly specific because its my first person experience). Relationships with your tattoo artist should he personable and built on trust. There is no trust here, your money is so much better off at one of the many reasonable, respectable tattoo shops in the area (See Yankee Doodle, Skin Kitchen, etc).

Went here on my 6 year olds daughters birthday he pierced her ears and she didnt feel a thing a total Pro highly recommend
