The access to this observation tower is tricky in that you have to take the first elevator up to certain floor then change the elevator after walking through a maze of staircases then reach the top. There is a small gift shop that has a good collection. The visibility is hindrance-free from all sides and visiting on a clear day is highly recommended.️ This place has:Yes=Ramp access.Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Entrance.Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Restroom/Toilet.Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Seating.Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Parking.Yes=A wheelchair-accessible Elevator.

Breathtaking views! The best time to go would be on a clear night with no chance of rain. You can see much farther without fog or heavy clouds. Its Ambient, colorful and exhilarating. 2 people can get access for under $20. It can get windy up there. Bring a jacket. I went with a friend on a November night. It was chilly, but well worth it! Absolutely beautiful!

Best views of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky up and down the Ohio River. We bring out of town guests here regularly. The journey usually starts at Hathaway’s Cafe or the bar at the Netherlands Hilton’s Palm Court, both located at the base of the Carew Tower. The trip to the Observation Deck starts with a ride to the 45th floor on an express elevator, then you transfer to a very small elevator for four more floors (or walk up stairs) to the Deck. Very modest, nothing fancy about the gift shop. $6 entry fee may be cash only. Paid binocular stand available, but there is plenty to see with the naked eye. May be tough to navigate for mobility impaired. Can be much windier up top than street level. A a

Good:- spectacular views- historic building full of architectural details- good bang for your buck... enjoyment worth the ticket priceCautions:- separate “local” elevator or stairs required to move from 48th to 49th (roof) floor; this second elevator trip to reach the top is tight and may not accommodate all wheelchairsThis review is based on a visit to the observatory on the roof. If you like tower views, heights, river or spectacular city views, this place is a MUST DO and well worth the cost. Highly recommended.

So much fun and such a great experience. We loved going as a family. The kids were so excited to be on such a huge tall building where they got to go out on the roof. Will definitely be going again.

It was a fun adventure finding the elevators to the tower. The first is in a hallway past the security desk. Then 2 lefts and into a smaller elevator. You do have to walk up 1 flight of stairs. To get to the deck. However its 2 short flights of stairs together.I highly recommend it, the view is the best in the city.

Nothing like being on top of the city! I love this place. Its a very simple open rooftop with four spyglass scopes on each corner to get a closer view (25 cents per use). You can see everywhere: all of downtown, the banks, OTR, Mt Adams, and over the river in Northern Kentucky and beyond. Only $6 admission makes this a great experience.

Nice view. My kids thought it was cool. Downside, when you get all the way to the top, you have to pay, and they only accept cash. We were $2 short ( we had no idea they didnt take cards) and the lady wouldnt budge, so my husband had to stay inside while I showed the kids. It upset the kids that their dad couldnt be with us too and it put a damper on the whole thing.

I feel like this is a somewhat hidden gem in downtown Cincinnati. The observation deck is pretty neat. You take an elevator to one of the upper floors, get out and go to a much smaller seemingly rickety elevator that takes you up a couple more floors to a metal staircase. You climb that and come to a little room with an old lady watching TV and selling some tower trinkets. She asks you for some cash and then sends you out onto the open roof of the tower. No cage on this bad boy, just a 4 foot high stone rail. It was somewhat crummy when we went weather wise but the views were still great. I imagine that they are spectacular when the sun is shining. Get some pictures of downtown Cincinnati, the banks of the Ohio, then come back down to the tower lobby and read about the buildings history and check out some of the finer details of its architecture.

Its truly breathtaking. The online post said its open til 7pm, we showed up at 5:25 PM and paid 6$ a piece to be told be only could be out there for 5 minutes due to them closing at 5:30. The old lady was rather rude. So I updated the time on Wednesday to close at 530pm. I wish I had more time is all I can say.

Over the years my family and I have come to the observation deck of the Carew Tower many times and each visit is always a pleasure. Its about 49 stories high and the last four floors are in a tiny elevator that only holds four people. Its all part of the adventure.Admission is only $4 per person with a small gift shop before you exit to the deck itself. There are binoculars mounted on the deck to rent for a quarter for 3 minutes. On a clear day you can see very far up and down the Ohio River and up the Mill Creek Valley and a beautiful view of the Licking River witch marks the very beginnings of Cincinnati.

I actually went here for a really neat shop called the I Love Cincinnati shop. It has such unique and one of a kind regional gifts. Then we hit the observation deck. Everyone was super nice and seemed genuinely glad to see us. The elevator to go the last few floors is tiny, so be prepared. The view is incredible. I recommend parking in the fountain place garage.

Wonderful views of the city! He does not like heights at all, but he made his way to the top with me and we were able to see over the river and beyond. The way to the top is through two different elevators and a set of stairs. The second elevator is very old and very small. The view from the top is definitely worth it! The cost was only $6.00 per adult.

One of the eight wonders of Cincinnati. The citys original skyscraper. Beautiful Deco features. A few shops but always Hathaways. Observation deck costs $6 cash which I didnt have on me - a good excuse to return. Also houses the famed Netherland Hilton that is worth a visit in its own right.

Great place to take visitors from out of town. It is a bit pricey at $6.00 per person including children. Note: take the main elevator up to top then transfer to a very small elevator, that only holds 3 persons, and go up 4 more stories. The last story must be claimed by stairs. Not handicapped enabled.

Always the best way to see the entire city from a single spot. Six dollar admission is well worth it for breathtaking views. Whenever I have guests from out of town this is a must see location. Be aware the elevators take you 45 floors up, and then you have to switch to stairs or a smaller elevator the final flights. Cash only.

Great spot to get a view of the city. The only downside is it is not quite as tall as some other observation decks in major cities that you might be used to. Its also uncovered at the roof of a building with no windows or overhead protection so the wind makes it pretty chilly at the top and if it rains or snows, it becomes miserable. Finally the 4 dollar cash price is inexpensive but inconvenient. Cant accept even a 20 dollar bill. They really should just take credit card and maybe charge a bit more for the privilege.

This is where you can get an unobstructed view of the city in all of its windy glory. All the hills that look so steep on the ground merely appear as small mounds from this height. Take the elevator up to the 45th floor, go down a hallway and go up a few flights (or take a very small elevator) to the 49th floor and pay $4/person in cash to go out to the deck. Its outdoors, and not fenced or covered so prepare for the wind! The tower is the second tallest in the city, so youll be able to see everything from here.

Excellent views. I was surprised I didn’t see more people up here. I think everyone who lives in the area should do this at least once so that every time you drive by and see Carew tower lit up in all its glory, you can say “hey I’ve been up there!”The place is cash only so make sure you’ve got the cash on you before you make your way to the top. I took one elevator to the 45th floor and took a second elevator from the 45th to the 48th. Finally I climbed the stairs from the 48th to the 49th floor.

What a wonderful gem. The price is $4 for adults and $2 for kids over 6 and has to be one of the best values for the money in Cincy. The Carew Tower is an absolute architectural gem itself, and the observation deck is relatively low visitor traffic and refreshingly uncomplicated with a number of observation telescopes located on all sides of the viewing platform. And the VIEW - you cant see Cincy in a more stunning panorama unless you were in a helicopter, its that good. The viewing deck is on the 49th floor which means you are not so high that everything looks like toys, its the best viewing height bar none.To get to the deck you take an elevator from the ground floor to the 45th floor, then a smaller elevator to the 48th floor. You then have to take the stairs to the 49th floor and the viewing deck so unfortunately it is not handicap accessible. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Ive lived in Cincinnati for over 21 years and yesterday was the first time I went up to the top of the Carew Tower. Please dont be like me and wait so long - the views are amazing, even on an overcast, drizzly day! The $6 for adults is quite reasonable, especially when compared to the prices of observations decks in other cities. You can stay up top as long as you want (during operating hours, of course). Due to the crummy weather, my boyfriend and I were the only people up there and it was so cool to have it to ourselves. I loved seeing Cincinnati from a different angle and would love to go back on a day when the weather is nicer, even if that means sharing the views. If you live in Cincinnati or are just passing through, I highly recommend braving the elevators and paying the $6 to get awesome views of a beautiful city.

After you navigate your way through hotel lobbies, office space and a tiny elevator out of the 1950s, youll climb a few short flights of stairs to reach your destination. An amazing staple of Cincinnati. Its still the tallest building of the city if you dont count the big metal piece on top of Great American. We got to see the Bengals practice, watch people set up for the Jazz Festival and a lot of other activities. You can see not only Ohio and Kentucky from atop the tower, you can see the smoke stacks where Indiana is also. When it got to be too much, I could go sit inside and talk to the nice lady who has worked there for 36 YEARS!!!!! Love it! I was in town for work with a colleague from France, and we had about an hour before she had to get to the airport. I texted my wife: “if you only had one hour in Cincinnati, what would you do?” She said walk the waterfront, or go up Carew. So we did! And it was spectacular. Let’s be real, this is not the greatest city in the world, but it is charming and real and rich with history that can be seen from a great old building. $6 bucks and you get to ride in a rickety old elevator.
