We booked an event here and it was BEAUTIFUL!! Walked in the back door and was BLOWN AWAY! Fun venue to explore too! A lot of interesting halls and staircases. Love historical locations like these!
Cool old theatre with proscenium stage. Very little wing space. House seats are good, perhaps semi recently replaced. Seating layout seemed decent. Lighting is ok. Didnt see or hear a decent house sound system - bring your own. The entry into the theatre is a little strange - really small lobby area and it feels as if the lobby and back few rows of the house have sunk... so sightlines arent great back there. Balcony is good though.
We were invited to a dance recital by friends whos daughter was one of the dancers that evening. What an honor to be able to attend and witness all that hard work! When we entered the building we immediately realized that this was a building constructed when actual craftsmen were still at work building the great cities of this land of ours. This building has so much for the eye to take in. We spent the entire time until the show started just trying to drink in all the opulence. The sound during the show was great, the seats comfortable indeed and the lighting wonderful. It was easy and fast to exit the theater when the show was over. All in all a wonderful experience was had by all.
Beautiful small concert hall. Very nice acoustics. Easy enough parking below street level.
This is an absolute joke and I will never attend another show here. We are standing at a show right now where they are refusing open the first floor bathrooms and the elevator driver is refusing to take us to the 6th floor to the open bathrooms. I have 2 children waiting for a show to start and not being able to use a bathroom due to a power struggle between 2 grown men is a joke. The elevator driver told us to “get out, get out - he (the security guard) isn’t gonna put that on me, not making it my job”. When we went to the security guard, he said “well I’m not gonna do it, I’m not opening the doors until the show starts. You can walk up the 6 flights.”Mind you, while this is happening, it is being rumored that the show will now be starting 30 minutes late. Absolute joke - I will NEVER attend or recommend this place to anyone. The staff is horrid. Absolutely horrid.
The Chicago Jazz Orchestra is always an underrated treat. Very entertaining show (Duke Ellingtons Nutcracker). The theater is dated, but that adds a little to the charm of the experience.
Solid venue for live music, though a bit stale. Better lighting could hide a multitude of upkeep sins.
Enjoyed a Haymarket Opera Company production of Pimpinone, tonight, 4.2.2019. The venue is so versatile and was perfect for this performance.
Nice theater. Rows are a little close and seats are small...but its an old building.
The Studebaker Theater is an amazing theater. Its the perfect size for a medium size show. The details on the ceiling are beautiful. The walls and decor look brand new. Not bad for a Theater that was built in the 1890s. Cant wait to have another show.
Beautiful and nostalgic! Small but very ornate.
Wonderful concert venue
A classic old theater. Relatively intimate. No flaws, just character.
Chicago Opera Theaters performance of Iolanta. Beautiful! The music, the singing, the staging. A wonderful experience.
A totally beautiful large but still intimate theater with excellent acoustics
Restored theater in the Fine Arts building with great views on both levels. The Arts Cafe has nice food and beverages.
Its a small theatre. Stage voices are clearly heard. A good space for opera.
Great historical smaller venue. All the seats in the house are pretty good. It was easy to see the stage and hear the opera. It seems to have a decent sized orchestra pit. You can also bring drinks into the venue from the Artists Cafe.
Beautiful venue in the heart of the city. Easily accesible.
I just saw a wonderful show at the Studebaker put on by the Arcs Chicago Human Rhythm Project.
Tightly cramped seating
Go there to see a show that you have a preinterest in. NOT very spacious or comfortable.
Oh man. Beautiful theater with seats designed for very, very small people. As a a shorter medium size woman, I barely had enough space for my torso and arms. Most uncomfortable seats Ive ever sat in, which made the performance we saw borderline intolerable. Bummer.
Ive been to several Roosevelt CCPA performances here. They are usually free, so keep an eye on their calendar. This is a very nice, historic theatre.
Nice concert in Chicago
Nice space!
Great venue.
