It was very nice. The sound system is good and the seats are comfortable. Security is good, long lines though as they process everyone. Ladies with purses take much longer, so I suggest just bringing your phone if you can get away with it. Bathrooms are conveniently located but 4 stalls is not enough for such a big venue. Many women use the handicapped stall which dirtys it for the disabled that have to sit on the seat! Why they need giant mirrors instead of using that space for toilets is beyond me. Women always take longer!
Attended a large conference here. Cant really complain about any negatives here. Friendly support staff. Well done guys. Look forward to visiting again next year.
Me and my fiance went to see Set it Off. Let me tell you the people in there really was the show, it was ghetto fabulous to the 19th power. It was unorganized and poorly coordinated. Not the play but the people. The play started at 8pm but people were still getting seated at 9pm and not just a few people but a lot and they were very inconsiderate flashing their phone lights in your face to find their seat because the ushers were not helping. I had a lady in my section talk about each character as well as what she was going to cook on Sunday while the play was on. I want to support our community and things we create but this was too much for me.
I saw SET IT OFF at the Arie Crown and was astonished by the unprofessionalism of the facility. Knowing that the event was scheduled, they had malfunctioning equipment that wouldnt scan tickets off the phone and it took FOREVER to get in. As the crowd grew impatient, the manager grew overwhelmed-it was just not good.Inside, the play was ok, but the sound system was lacking. That took away from the overall experience.Parking was usually paid for on the way in, but this time it was to be paid at a kiosk inside the parking garage. It was a total NIGHTMARE for those who didnt pay going in.I hadnt been to the venue for quite a while before this play, and Im in no rush to get back. Their accommodations were inept, especially considering the cost of the ticket. Do better, AC management!
Ive gone to multiple events and there are never parking attendants to manage traffic. Went on New Years Eve and got stick in parking lot for an hour and a half. Had to bring New year in inside the parking structure with no attendants in sight until I finally got to the gate. They guide you in but dont care once you are inside structure. Will NEVER go to an event again!!!!
Nice place but underground parking is horrible when its time to go home and everyone leaves at the same time. Your phone has no service. We felt trapped, bc people didnt pay their parking in advance.
Seats are wayyyyy too small I’m not a big guy and I had to sit sideways so I wasn’t elbowing the person next to me. No personal space I’m literally rubbing thighs with the dude next to me. I’m sitting 4 rows from the stage I feel like I bought a 59.99 balcony seat. Show was good but I can’t wait to leave it’s too uncomfortable can’t even enjoy myself
It took us an hour just to get out the parking garage. They dont help you find your seats. Im never going back even if the tickets are $10. Also they only have two paying ticket machines. Smdh!! What a horrible experience and the play was just okay. It was my birthday so I wanted to go
I went to see D.C. Young Fly he was great. I went on sweetest day. It was a very nice pleasant evening. Very calm and funny nice time out.
The theater is big. The seats are positioned in good spots so that people who sit in front of you are not in your way. I enjoy going here for comedy shows.
The facility could certainly use a renovation, as it has a very dated feel. The parking staff was undermanned and I waited over 90 mins to exit the parking lot for a New Years Eve comedy show with prepaid parking! Being stuck underground in a parking lot wasnt exactly how I planned to bring in the New Year. Not sure if Ill ever return!
Set It Off was an amazing play. Cant wait for BAPS.
Excellent arena with great sounding mics and an awesome sound system for concerts. The only bad thing was trying to get out of the parking garage. Very unorganized and slow. One point we didnt move for nearly 45 minutes. So have lots patience
I went to see Set It Off. The stage play was great and really enjoyed Da Brat, Keshia Knight Pulliam and the other actors. The security was overloaded at the entrance. One of the guards let us know the other entrance had less people waiting. We still got in late and missed the first few minutes of the show. The Arie was good with nice sound quality and comfortable sitting. I took an Uber there, but the pick spot is not clearly listed.
A.Crown was kool however, getting out of the parking garage is and always has been a disaster. I will be taking an Uber next time, I cant deal with the chaos.
Nice venue. The comedy lineup was top notch! Comfortable seats
Fantastic time watching Set It Off Stage Play
Intimate venue for live music. Probably the most comfortable seats of any theater in Chicago.
Not What I Thought, it was chaos. Not organized also not setup for dissable people. We were in a group and the group consists of wheelchair, walkers and blind individuals there was no help at all. Other ticket holders tried to help us not the staff my husband and myself helped as much as we could, to the point people where asking us where to go as if we where part of the staff that was a shame my husband was working for free on his birthdayI will not in my lifetime go back there. At least not for a sold out show. The show was Tyler Perrys last Madea show & Arie Crown Theater dropped the ball.
Great acoustics and an easily navigable arena. Rest of the complex was confusing as heck. Theater very nice and reasonable enough views from most seats. Acoustics were way better than I was expecting for a business conference - wish I was seeing a symphony or opera here
Big place. Parking not bad. The seats are not far from stage
The check in was fast, our seats was great, and yes they do search you before you come in
Parking was expensive, sound system sucked, the popcorn vendor didnt have any of the items on their menu and the prices were ridiculous.
It Was A Very Pleasant Evening And An Over All Good Experience.
Very nice place. A lot of space. Plenty of seats. Able to see the stage from any seat. A little difficult to get into if one has never been there before. Great for concerts and/or graduations.
Very clean, safe, and organized. Ive been here for comedy concerts and for the yearly car show. Security is 100% tight!
This was my first time attending an event here. It was nice in the theater. However, parking and ridesharing drop off and pick up can be confusing and a mess. This is due to driving under tunnels with no phone service and only being able to drop off and pick up at certain doors. It would have beneficial to have more staff assisting with this.
Great experience overall...Yay for 2020!
Great place for concerts. Always prepay parking before going in.
Beautiful place, seating was terrific from all angles. Stage was in perfect site from any seat.
The ability to see the seating chart and decide where u want to sit
Good venue but it seems they decreased the size of the seats. Tight seating. Also, the bathrooms are TOO SMALL within the theater area itself. There were only 3 stalls in two womens bathroom. There is an area in each of the two bathrooms housing two large mirrors where additional stalls should have been placed. Bathrooms are ESSENTIAL for women. The wait time for the bathroom was too long especially since patrons were told they could not leave the actual Theater once the play started. Also, eat before you get there.
The arie crown is beautiful the only thing was the way the uber was set up terribly
Great sound system but upper level seats are too steep and seats are too close together and tight. Oh and no accommodations for disabled or handicap.
Be prepared to walk from parking lot to actual theater its far, or set up with security they can help..
The venue does not lend itself to disabled and handicapped persons. It needs to be updated to include people movers, have more wheelchairs available for guests who made need them, more handicapped parking spaces, bigger bathrooms for women and knowledgeable staff that knows the parking garage and the venue. Oh and better signage that matches the parking garage with parking slips that confirm where you parked and how to get back to that area.
The parking is a nightmare prepare for parking wait and dont be late to your show...we spent almost an hour trying to get out of the garage
Went to the DeRay and friends comedy special this past Saturday and all comedians put on a great show. The seats and isles in this place must was built for children under the age of 10. This place looks extremely nice but its definitely time to upgrade the seating for the audience. This place can hold 5k people and its only 10 stalls to use the restroom...... If someone is late for the show be prepared to constantly stand up to let them by because of how small the space is. The staff was cool but the seating definitely have to be improved.
Its always a pleasure to see Jagged Edge they are phenomenal singers!
Seating is a little crunched, but. was happy the manager was able to accommodate a move for our comfort.
Very nice theater to see a live performance at, good acoustics and sound system
Service was very helpful as we needed seating accommodations, the seats were comfortable, staff was friendly & helpful, parking was easy to figure out--
This place has gotten such a bad rap, but the last two events (comedy show w/Lavelle Crawford and R & B rewind with Tevin Campbell)that I went to here, I was satisfied. We had great seats(they could be roomier)...lol!! Im a fuller girl and I always get sat next to someone fuller than me! Lol!! But still good Seats and comfortable. The venue is always clean and the ushers are always helpful upon entrance and exit! Great show last night! Pleasantly pleased! Tevin Campbell was an absolute pleasure!
Very tight seating, no space for fat people or skinny people, parking garage tight also, it took a hr to get out .
The theater was good the seats were too short small Im 5-10 and 200 pounds so Im not that overweight but they were too small the parking was terrible for $23 and you had to walk a mile before you can get to the theater that was ridiculous especially when someone is handicapped I can make it up the stairs but its there should have been some elevators or signs or people out there showing you which way to go it was ridiculous the parking was terrible. But the show was good the sound was a little bit too loud it could have been turned down a little bit but you can see clearly you can hear all in all we had a good night
Great show is to get on the venue! way too hard to get out!
Good acoustic’s and I loved the digital display on the stage. Nice sized aisle to allow traffic to flow in and out. Parking was a bit high though and $4.00 for beverages seems a bit excessive but I should know better dealing with capitalism
Great seats throughout the theater. Security was on point and we were able to get into the theater quickly. The only thing I would recommend to the Arie Crown is that they find a better way to get people out of the parking lot after shows. Took at least an hour for us to leave the parking lot after seeing a performance here.
Very elegant theater, spatious just hard to get to if youre coming in from the front of McCormick Place.
I had a good view of the stage even in the top of the balcony. Staff were everywhere I had no problems finding my seat. Lines moved quickly no hassle at security points
It is a good theatre for plays concerts and other venues
Gorgeous indoor theater with mostly comfy seating. Great sound.
Deray davis comedy show.. funny asl
I love going here. But why when its a black concert they put up the metal detectors. I had won tickets through my car radio system. They were so Im organize I along with so many others had to wait and wait .Were not giving our tickets in to after the concert started we walked in after missing all the opening acts .When we got in the main act came on less than 5minutes. Ill gladly buy my own tickets from Now on.
Theater is nice but parking garage is awful. I was stuck in my car almost 1 hour before I was able to force my way out of the parking spot.
Comfy seats. PartyLite Conference
I attended the Mothers Day Love & Laughter concert featuring Monica, KMichelle, Major, comedians Red Grant and Luenell. All performers were great but Arie Crown needs a better solution with parking, getting dropped off or picked up. Took an hour and a half after the show just to get away from the theater. I understand that there were 2 other events going on that night but had it not been, it would have still been the same situation.
The theater was ok. Its hard to find parking and the actual theater. Lots of walking. The show was terrible (Set it Off). Highly overpriced.
The comedy show that I went to see was great. However, the parking situation was horrible. After the show we sat in their parking garage for over an hour unable to leave. There was no one there to really regulate exiting the garage. I dont know why it took so long to leave the garage, but for the amount of money you have to pay for the event and parking it was absolutely ridiculous! Also, the building was so outdated. The womens restroom was so small and only two of three stalls were in service. The line for the restroom was out the door. I loved the comedy show, but I hope that they have it somewhere else next year. I guess youre supposed to leave early to beat the crowd and parking lot idiocracy, but you shouldnt have to when you pay good money for an event.
Deray Davis Festival of Funny Comedy Show was really funny. Brought in the new year laughing my butt off!!
Loved it.. happy New Years
Ushers didnt maintain order people were smoking up in the balcony section and wasnt just cigarettes very disturbing
This place is great. Getting out the parking garage after a show is horrible tho
Its located on the eastern side of the McCormick Place near the lake. The theater has a sitting capacity of nearly 800 people.
Very nice theatre but very hard to get into when busy. Once inside security was very helpful and refreshments available although very expensive($4-bottle of water). Went for Madeas last performance tour, well worth the tickets prices.
Attended a concert. Great experience, must and should place to visit.
Ill be very nice at the Arie Crown Theater have places for people to seat. Thats a lot of people that come to the area Crown Theater that are disabled. This will be the best thing in the area Crown Theater can do and have wider seats.
I didnt see any letters on the seats where I was seated so good luck finding your seat. You might as well close your eyes, turn around in 3 circles and take a squat wherever your spirit tells you to. Good luck finding any food in the theater after a certain time, too. Even if theres still a show going on, you had better get your food early and just pick at it through the rest of the show because those vendors and whatever else are already on their way home about 15 or 20 minutes after those curtains go up. Security is irritating, as well. They almost get onstage trying to keep the crowd from getting close enough to actually see a performer and/or touch a hand. Getting out of the parking garage at the end of the show is next to impossible. What I did like was how easy they make it to buy tickets, how many different stages and conference rooms they had (so you know you always have a place to rent if you ever have a function you need to host), and the fact that its big enough to accommodate a looot of people without feeling suffocated.
Nice Venue. Seats easy to find. No food allowed inside theater
I love the Arie Crown but they need to try to fix the seats because you have some women that are little thicker than others and those seats can be uncomfortable.
Lot of changes made since Kat Williams venue. Will not spend that type of money again going to Arie Crown venues.
My grand daughter, Katavias high school graduation from George Westinghouse College Prep was held here today.Very spacious with great seating and sight lines. Very good experience.
I have attended the RSNA 2018 opening in this theater.I have sat in the upper section of the theater.Im really worry about the safety precautions in this theater. It is very narrow you can easily fall, when you try to get in or out.Be careful.
Nice and comfortable nice relaxed seats
Was at the Arie Crown Theatre for my granddaughters high school graduation Saturday. Parking was $23 which I thought was a little pricey. The auditorium was large and very nice and the seating was comfortable. Their bathrooms were nice and also clean. I would recommend the Arie Crown Theatre for any event.
Great show!!! Set it off
Was there for to private professional ceremonies. The lighting is just too dim for pictures.
Liked the service. Very helpful
It was beautiful, well organized, and the staff treat you real well
R&B Rewind Concert.. enjoyed it
