Loved the place. Must visit place in Chicago.Field museum has some great pieces of history and lot of stuff related to dinosaurs. Its really amazing experience to see each of these pieces from history. The place is taking covid precautions and has nice food court. Surprisingly, the food was delicious which usually not the case in in-house food courts. The staff in food court was nice. The staff in museum was mixed, but most were good.
I visited this Museum approximately two weeks ago, and my experience was amazing. There’s a lot of interesting things in there to look at from Dinosaurs to the Culture of different regions. It’ll take you around 4-5 hours to walk through the entire museum. I also recommend you to get the City pass and they’ll include one of their movies to watch in the museum’s theater. There’s a Cafe inside the building where you can get some snacks if you get hungry. I recommend you to go in the mornings. Absolutely recommended!
Visited Field Museum for the first time on August 12, 2019. Wow one of the best moments from visiting Chicago. The museum is very well put together. So many things to see {such as great pieces of history, Dinosaurs, Fantastic Bug Encounters, Grainger Hall of Gems, Regenstein Laboratory, Evolving Planet, Mass Extinction, etc). You will not regret visiting this museum. I look forward to revisiting in the near future
They have various exhibitions. Very interactive, family-friendly. I love they have a rest spot and many vending machines which can be very helpful in this pandemic situation. The ticket a bit pricey, but you wont regret it! Prepare 4-5 hours of your time to fully explore the area. Check the special exhibition, SUE exhibition, and museum shop!!
Came up from FL with the family. Very nice, love all the dinosaur bones. The kids thought it was really cool. The park out back was a nice surprise too.We visited Dec 2018
An amazing experience. More exhibits than you can look at, and appreciate, in one day, even with just the General Admission ticket. Ill be going back again for sure. Some areas were closed due to ripple effects of COVID(less staff, less visitors, etc). I loved the mummies and the History of the Americas, that was really interesting. Compared to other museums around the world (Japan, Italy, Cambodia, etc) The Field Museum has just a much of an experience, though it seemed to be aimed heavily at children in some areas.
Science, culture, history, etc. Awesome place for learning. A great museum for kids. Lots of fun things to explore
It was a pleasure to go to the field museum today, had a great time.
Absolutely loved walking through all the exhibits. Learned some interesting things. Whole group had fun.
World class, must visit destination! Weve been to the Field Museum many times and its always a treat for the whole family. Nearby parking garage makes it easy to visit.
Great visit to Field! Never been before, and was visiting Chicago during COVID. We had a trip planned to Shedd, and got done early there so decided to drop by. It is HUGE! Just be warned to wear sensible shoes, you will likely walk miles and miles, and spend hours on your feet. Was slightly disappointed with the layout during COVID as its all one way. I felt like I was in an IKEA where I could not see what I wanted thought walking through a bunch I did not. Also, NO need to pay for the full pass unless you really want to see something in the special exhibits.
That was a great experience, lots of item from different ages and different places around the World. Highly recommend to visit with you kiddos - I think every will find something exciting in that place. Sue is gorgeous!
An incredible museum where you could spend days going through the beautifully curated exhibits. From gemstones to world history to dinosaurs, this museum has something for everyone. My favorite exhibits were the Halls of the Pacific and the Hall of Birds. The amount of information is overwhelming, but extremely fascinating.WARNING: DO NOT purchase your tickets on Google with Tiqets.com, they will charge you $40 for a BASIC admission. We made that mistake and the museum would not accept that we actually paid for the All Access admission.
A rich collection of very well built displays and fascinating fossils and artifacts. I was surprised to find that my favorite exhibit was the Native American women installment, which was incredibly well crafted and enlightening. The staff were engaged and gracious. COVID restrictions were clear and easy to follow, all we really needed to do was buy our tickets a couple of days in advance. We had a great time!
Easily the best museum Ive ever been to. When I went in July of 2019, the Field Museum had an amazing exhibit about ancient Chinese history, which has always been one of my favorite subjects. Id even give that specific exhibit (which I think was only temporary) 5 stars. My family and I saw almost every exhibit in the museum that day. They also had a phenomenal exhibit about Pacific Islanders and the Indigenous Peoples of North America. And it goes without saying, but if you go to this museum, you *HAVE* to see Sue the T-Rex skeleton. If I kept listing everything I saw and liked, Id be writing this review for about as long as I was there that day (7-ish hours, no joke), so Ill wrap this up. Ever since that day, its been a dream of mine to eventually work at the Field Museum creating exhibits. Go to this museum.
I love this place. It’s full of interesting exhibits some new and some old. I’ve been visiting this museum for over 30 years and have to say there’s always something new to learn here. I’ve brought my children here when they were younger and now my granddaughter loves it. Sadly due to the negative media coverage of Chicago, the visits are way down. I was there on a Saturday and it was almost empty. Please bring your friends & family and supports this beautiful museum and all the others we have here in Chicago. Buy a membership, it’ll save you money and You’ll have a great time.
The museum has many exhibits and specimens. It is one of the most complete and interesting museums in which I have been.Sues exhibition is amazing.
Super cool Dinosaur exhibit! The whole place has a really good vibe, and there is lots of things to do! Going here would make an excellent day trip, or even two considering how much this place has to offer!
The field museum is a huge nature-historic museum. I spent there 3 hours Sunday morning, and didnt even get to see all! Its a huge museum and mostly enough space between objects etc so that it is easy to keep distance to others. There are also sanitizers all over. Amazing to see such rich vatiety of animal objects.
Museums of natural history are always remarkable. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they answered all of our questions with a big smile. Sue the T-Rex was a sight to see and our toddler loved everything in the dino exhibit. We loved our time here and will return again the next time we travel through chi-town ^_^
An exceptional museum and a place that I have visited several times. It’s worth a trip and bring the kiddos. Just make sure to bring a mask. M2Boutique.com is a good option.
Took the family here this afternoon and loved every minute of it! The staff were friendly and informative, so they answered all the questions we had. The museum provided a wheelchair for my mother, for no fee. They were super polite about it. The Egypt Exhibit was fantastic - be careful if you are claustrophobic! All in all, this place is a great place to spend an hour or a day at! Highly recommended.
This is by far one of the best museums I’ve ever been to. I live in the DC area and the Field museum has so much more to offer than the Smithsonian. The facility itself is clean and updated. Has a good flow and all the exhibits are nice and clean. You will def. need more than one day to see everything. My son and I got through most of it in 3 hours but we were fast walking through most of it just trying to cram as much as we could into the limited time we had before our departure. I wish we had planned to spend more time there. We will definitely be going back and I can’t wait.
World class museum! Fly out to visit it! Easy access by subway and a two stop bus ride. Its very big. I recently went during these covid times. Everyones safely wearing masks and sociall distant. It seemed to have EVERYTHING! It had a plant and tree specimen section that had its very own hall too. The ancient Egypt and Americas section was amazing! They even have some very informative and interactive sections for kids, well the type of kids that are not the museum kind of kid. Take them to these first to wear them out of too much extra energy for a lil. I was the kind of kid that would read each display and that loved paleontology! This is arguably the best place to come to for paleontology! They have the largest animal to have ever walked the earth on display, an titan named Maximo! Seeing pictures is one thing but being right next to just its leg makes you wonder! Its so big you have to walk away, not step back, i mean walk away to see all of it (yea keep walking nope keep going ok now you can take a pic of whoever is posing next to it). Much bigger than the brachiasaurus in the Jurrasic park movie. There was a huge flying dinosaur like animal that scientists estimated moved at 60+mph. It was taller than a semi truck it was taller than a small tree. I didnt expect to see that. Standing next to a feathered replica humbled you because you know damn well it would have snapped you up like a bird eats a worm or fish. You didnt see this one in the movies.Sue the Trex has her very own exibit, seemingly larger than i thought. Strong word of advice dont save the best for last the place is so big you might not get to spend all the time you wanted at what your into. There are many vast exhibits to see. Even the bird collection is huge. They are lacking a Harpy and a Philippine eagle which are the largest. BUT because they are facing extinction they should display replicas to show everyone and generate positive support towards conservation.Great natural history museum! Fly out to visit it you wont regret it.
Very very nice Museum. This museum is full of history. I absolutely love it.
Love this place. One of the better museums I have ever been to. One of the lesser known but really cool exhibits are the two male lions made famous from the old Val Kilmer / Michael Douglas movie Ghost in the Darkness. They are stuffed from the early 1900s and on display right in Chicago!
I havent been here in YEARS and I was blown away at the Majesty of this place. It just goes on and on and on with amazingly detailed recreations from the past and with beautiful re relations of present animals. My daughter and I just loved losing ourselves in the different worlds that the museum has curated. I cant wait to visit again soon and finish walking through all of its exhibits.
I recommend going early to beat the crowds. We got our tickets for 10am and it was pretty empty until we left around 1pm. It was very easy to keep a distance from others. The Egypt exhibit can get crowded quick, so I would recommend going to that first before the crowd picks up.
These exhibits are huge and very informative. They have new exhibits every time we go. My daughter loved the bug exhibit. Please allot yourself at least 4 hours to explore. The African exhibit alone took us over a hour to view. This is a wonderful family outing. Enjoyed that it also contained interactive displays.
My husband and I ended our City Pass trip with you all. We had so much fun. I cannot even tell you which was my favorite. From Sue, to the Gems, AND I found the coolest wooden statue in the gift shop. My hubby let me buy it. :-)Your staff was awesome in getting me a box that fit this treasure and wrapped it well.I strongly suggest if you are planning a visit to The Windy City that you purchase the City Pass and go to the places it gives you. We took 3 days and used cabs back and forth most of the time and/or walked. This was an amazing way to spend our anniversary!!
Social distancing was easy with lots of markers and one way pathways. I suggest going early at opening for less crowds. We went on a Friday and it was not crowded at all when we got there at 915 but was definitely more crowded by 11.
Not as good as I was expecting, compared to Due which we went to several years ago. The pizza was made wrong, but didnt want to wait again. Would go to Due next time.
40,000,000 things too see. Liked it, it was spacious and had plenty of bathrooms.
Great place to spend the day and relax. All the displays are beautiful and very informal. I could spend hours on hours there just reading through the displays. If you don’t get want an escape from the busy commute of Chicago spend your day there and just take in the sight of the museum. I had an amazing time there.
One of the best Museums on the planet! The atmosphere in the collections halls just oozes with history and importance. This is the museum you go to when you want to be transported into the past. The lighting in the exhibits just makes you feel like youre in a movie set in the 1920s or something. The exhibits themselves are outstandingly beautiful, and have been for more than a century. The dioramas are exquisitely crafted and kept in wonderful condition by such amazing craftspeople and scientists.I was only able to spend 2 hours in the space, so I spent most of my time in the enormous Mammal Hall, often getting pleasantly lost in the twists and turns of exhibit cases, looking at amazing creatures many of which I could never hope to see alive in real life.
Plenty to see and do. Can easily spend hours here. Great views of the skyline and lake outside too
Truly a night at the museum to see displays behind the back drop of an evening glow was magnificent. The exhibits new and old excites ones sense and give you the energy to explore through this ginormous space. It is filled with the wonder of history from the beginning of time to what is going on currently. I would highly recommend exploring with friends young and old as the wonder of the exploration with ignite your imagination and give you much to talk about on those cold winter evening when the museum is closed.
Not crowded and PLENTY of signs/ arrows to practice social distancing. I enjoyed that the arrows kept everyone going in one direction. The food cafe was not worth the money & the employees could have been more friendly.
WOW. Just wow. A lot to see here. We came here at 12pm and couldn’t see everything in the museum for only 5 hrs. There are so many things, many little details to see! I don’t even think you can see everything if you come here from open to closed either! If I live here I’ll definitely buy a annual/membership ticket. Worth every penny. Really impressive. Would come back here in a heartbeat next time I come to Chicago. Loved it️
The Field Museum is an adventure for the whole family. Its numerous rooms and collections are impressive. The Sue Tyrannosaurus room is fantastic and of course the fossils of many dinosaur species. The halls of Egypt, Mesoamerica, Africa and the Atlantic have a wide variety of objects. Not forgetting the collections of stuffed animals.
The museum was very empty and we had time to view everything without feeling rushed. Partly because of the lack of tourists during COVID and also because of the precautions the museum has taken for everyones safety. Because of this, some part of a few exhibits are closed. A great time regardless.
Definitely my favorite museum in the city. Not as much cool stuff as MSI, but if youre a fan of world history and culture, this is the place for you. Be prepared to spend all day, and more here if you want to take in everything, because there are a lot of exhibits and a ton of information to process. The staff here is very friendly, and the museum store has a bunch of cool stuff as well, though its a little expensive, but thats typical for a gift shop. There are a variety of parking options, which again, are on the expensive side, so if youre driving, be prepared to spend a lot. My only complaint is that the membership doesnt cover parking, like MSI, but thats probably because The Field doesnt have its own lot. Other than that, I highly recommend this museum. Its a clean, comfortable, and very quiet environment.
This place is AMAZING. Whenever Im there Im in awe of everything. Theres just something nostalgic about the Field Museum. The exhibit leading to Sue is magnificent. I highly recommend it, even of youre not a dinosaur person. Prior to my visits this year, everytime I would go, I had to go through the Ancient Egypt exhibit, just because it always felt like I was seeing everything for the first time. The Evolving Planet exhibit is like that for me now, so Ill be going through two on every visit. I highly recommend the Apsaalooke Women and Warriors exhibit. There are some beautiful paintings in there, and its very informative. Theres just so much to absorb. Of youre concerned about social distancing due to COVID, know that theyre doing a great job at the Field. This was my first time viewing a film there, which I really enjoyed. I do need to start taking more advantage of the the museum offers. This is easily one of the best museums in the world.
This was one of the sites I needed to see before leaving. Very happy with the Field Museum! Best part for me was the dinosaur fossils and the Egypt exhibit. Definitely recommend! Thank you!
Neat light show to display the most complete T-rex fossil, Sue. This museum is an experience and highly worth while for people of all ages.
Havent seen anything spectacular in a while. Great variety. Incredible maintenance. Covid-19 safe!
The experience that I had at this museum was absolutely amazing! There are so many different exhibits that I feel there is something that will appeal to everyone. My personal favorite is the prehistoric section, just because I am very into learning about dinosaurs. I also love the 4D movie about the story of Sue, the T-Rex skeleton that is in the main section of the museum. Very fun, would be perfect for everyone of all ages!
The amount of knowledge amassed in this place is ridiculous. Plan to do multiple trips, there is no way to see all of it at once! Im very happy to see they adapted to the current circumstances too.
The field museum was excellent. I am not from Chicago so was interesting to see all the cool exhibits the main attraction was obviously the dinosaur bones but they had interesting things on different cultures as well and that was interesting. The field museum had excellent value spent several hours there. The passes are really good values the 3d movies were also interesting.
Such a great museum. I would visit as a kid for field trips and now that Im an adult I have a much greater appreciation for it. Loved my last trip (when I was 38).
Awesome place to explore history. Need atleast one full day to cover all the sections. Go early to avoid Q. We can keep our luggage/bags/jackets at the entrance, this was helpful for me as my hotel check in was at 3pm. Museum has restaurant so you can have breakfast/lunch. Enjoy the place. Good collection of fossils. Thank you.
Lots to see for both younger and older visitors. Each update that they make to exhibits makes the museum that much more engaging and interactive. The new Sue room is tons of fun - make sure to smell death when you are there. It is very memorable. The animals are still the most appealing to younger visitors, but evolving planet is one of the most complete collection of fossils that there is.
Absolutely incredible place! Perfect exhibitions and galleries. If you’re in Chicago, I strongly recommended. If you want to visit all sections at least you have to spend 5-6 hours. However it will worth it.
Very cool. I loved the dinosaur stuff!! It was interesting.
They really thought about this museum. It’s very interactive and interesting. The T-Rex was pretty cool. It took us several hours to walk around. The videos were well made. And I really liked the animated ones. They had games and they were very fun. There was a little kid who thought they were too hard though.
I love this museum. It is truly amazing great natural history museum. The highlight is the dinosaurs exhibit. It has been around for 125 years and still getting better. They are always bringing in travelling exhibits to compliment regular attractions.
Brilliant props and displays! This place is huge, but there is order to it: it is laid out well for a visitor to navigate. The front desk will give you a map and if you purchase the Chicago City Pass, you get added benefits in the museum.I highly recommend this place as a tourist attraction and an educational center!Children can even be entertained easily here!
As museums go this has to be one of the best. Spent about 3 hours there and didn’t even come close to seeing everything .There was a decent line when we arrived but it moved quickly. There were several options for ticket prices, and my wife suggested we get the most basic and she was right. In my opinion the cheapest option gives you more than enough to see!Don’t waste your money buying the more expensive pass because it will just rush you, because you can’t see it all in one day anyway
Lots to see, you could spend hours to a whole day here without getting bored. Its architecture is beautiful and there is so much to learn about! Its a wonderful place for all ages.
Very educational experience with kids. They really enjoyed the time they spent at the museum. It took us all day to explore the whole museum. Awesome virtual Ride. Kinda expensive food with okay taste. Make sure come early in the morning to enjoy and learn about lot of things, past to present. I will recommend as a family trip to consider when you are in the city. Worth spending time together with family and friends. Good luck.
Loved every bit of it. A Lotta exhibits. Go as early as possible to have enough time to explore
This place is big, really neat, clean bathrooms, couldnt find a pop machine that actually had something to drink for sale that wasnt Starbucks coffe
I really liked this museum it had mummies, dinosaurs, a huge collection of animals (they were replicas or stuffed but very cool to look at), and much much more. The current dinosaur exhibit housing Sue the dinosaur was my favorite, but the whole museum was cool. The eating area was over priced though and did not have many options.
Im briefly visiting Chicago from Florida after my moms death. I wanted to take the Orange line into the Loop and visit the Field Museum But, I noticed the Museum was Closed M, T, and W! Seriously?! Why! What a disappointment! If its due to CV, then allow fewer visitors and stay open during the week!!! What museum is closed so many days!!!! Ridiculous! The Shed Aquarium and the Art Institute are both open! I dont see why the Field Museum is not open! Not everyone wants to come on a weekend or other potential busy days!
What a great museum. We thoroughly enjoyed and learned a lot. Sue the t-rex was fascinating. Would go back again.
My 5th time here and some of the taxidermy is really showing it age which makes for hilarious pictures.
Awesome museum; just didnt feel like the Cyrus Tang Hall exhibit is worthy of an upgraded pass...
This place is fantastic. The exhibitions done carefully and creatively. All peoples can learn because we can use all of our senses.Well prepared and courteous staff are always ready to help you. The food is good and the place is clean.Go in the summer when people prefer to stay outdoors or during a bears game where in impossible to park - use a bus or a taxi.
I could spend an entire week in this museum! Immersive and interactive, so much to take in and appreciate. Wear comfy shoes and bring a snack, because youll be here all day!
A world class natural history and science museum! Highlights include the Native American exhibit and Sue, the most complete T Rex skeleton ever found. Maybe plan 2 days to explore the whole museum!
Beautifully arranged, thoughtfully planned and carefully curated. SUE was lit, and honestly the Apsalooke women and warriors is one of my favorite exhibits I’ve seen in a very long time.
Fun and not too many people there. Some exhibits were closed for the time being.
This was an all day adventure! So many great things to see and do and read. I went with my 13 y/o son and we had a blast! There really wasnt an exhibit that I favored over ll. They really are all great. The animals displayed are extensive and beautifully arranged.
Believe it. This place cannot be seen in a day. But you can bet we certainly did try! If you read nothing and never stop at any exhibit, just walk by it can be done. But it truly is too interesting not to stop and check it out. All ages should like but you might want to split up the sprinters with the folks that like to really digest what is there. Will definitely go again. It is just like I remember when I was a kid except they have really amped up the dinosaurs.
Such an amazing experience. My daughter and I learned so much. The old saying fits here: youre never to old to learn. All the employees were amazing and helpful; I have nothing negative to say about this. We plan to come back.
The museum has a large variety of exhibits, I would recommend coming in early to make sure you have enough time to see all the exhibits.
Everyone should go love it I don’t remember how many time I went
One of the best museums in America. You can spend many hours here. The Native American exhibit is the very best I have ever seen. You cant leave without seeing Sue too.
Good atmosphere and it was huming with people due to being free for Chicago residents. I enjoyed seeing Sue the T Rex as well as the Egypt display. I was rather surprised to see people soliciting outside... You would be handed a news paper type thing and then be expected to pay / give some money.. I am surprised this is allowed directly outside the front door. Although do understand it is good for people to try earn money, the tactics used are not ideal..
Disclaimer: I worked at this museum for 18 years and even got married there. So, Im biased. But the museum has never looked better. Its been three years since my last visit. So, I was interested to see SUE in their new home, the China Hall and Apsaalooka Women and Warriors in addition to visiting some old favorites. The steps theyve taken to make it a safe place to visit are perfect. Plexiglass barriers, one-way signage, tons of sanitizers and staff visibly cleaning made me feel very safe. Make some time to walk around outside. The museum campus is beautiful place to enjoy the views of the city. You should definitely visit!I do find it crazy that the museums, park district and Solder Field have not worked closer together to make parking more affordable. I get that Bears games and other events will drive up the prices. But on those slow days in the fall and winter? Lower them and maybe more folks will visit.
Great value on a City Pass! My favorite Chicago museum. If you love science, insects, dinosaurs, history - this is the place. It’s a beautiful building inside and out. And such a great location right on the museum campus. Take a whole day for EACH museum. You won’t regret it. I could have easily taken 2 days to see everything. We also ate lunch here with kids. Good variety & quality of food. Easy walk after to Maggy Daily Park, the Bean or lakeside. Location can’t be beat.
This is a great place to take the family and it is so enjoyable for adults as well!!! The mummy exhibit is pretty cool and who can forget about Sue!!! The only reason I don’t give it five stars is because of the food service. We paid $52 dollars for 3 meals and it was lack luster. The kids couldn’t finish their meals so I asked for a to-go box and they informed me that they don’t give boxes out to take food with you and we’re very rude about it. I understand slightly not wanting food across the museum, but when you spend as much as it is for the admission, extras, food, and gift shop, you would think they would allow that. They even allow you to bring in Your own food. Other than that, the place was awesome and the experience was great. Just bring your own lunch...
This place is amazing. There is so much to explore. Get there early if you plan on exploring everything in one day.
Wonderful natural history museum. Parking is very hard to find and displays really never change but on the plus side some of the exhibits are amazing. Our favorite exhibit is Sue the T-Rex, make sure to go upstairs to see the real head. The one sitting on top of the body is a great replica that needed to be used because of the weight of the real head.Special events are a real treat such as the one they had for the Terra Cotta warriors.
Great museum covering lots of great content. Animals, plants, architecture and so on. The biggest attraction is definitely the dinosaurs fossil, the biggest in the world so far! Others such as African, Egypt, China, pacific contents are extensive and elaborate as well. Can easily spend a day here!
Its $18 to get in which is not bad. I was not happy there were two exhibits which wanted an additional $16 to see. They Should Up the price and include everything.
They have all my favorites! Sue the t rex, mossimo the titanasour and Lucy one of our ancestors. I love the field museum. I have visited history museums all over the world and this is the best. Honestly it even beats the Smithsonian natural history museums as well.
Because of corona issues lots not open, and they are charging addl ticket fees for a couple exhibits including China.
I felt very safe there, there were very few people there and almost everyone was wearing masks. A few areas were closed, but it was as normal. Saw the new dinosaur. Stairs were one way. There arrows one the floor in some areas.
First time going here was really fun had a blast the entrance with the floating land is astonishing
My nieces loved spending time here! Great for adults and kids. It makes you go ahhhh! and wow!!
It is definitely one of the best museums I have been to. It has a lot to offer, in fact you cant see everything in one day. So if you are a museum enthusiast you should plan to go multiple times
Huge, amazing, always interesting. Loved seeing all the fossils, and of course, the dinosaurs. The new Sue exhibition is amazing. They have really stepped up and made their exhibitions more interactive and inclusive with digital content, however, if you want a more traditional natural history museum feel, they have that too, with their dioramas that havent changed since the 50s.
This place is FANTASTIC!!! You could never guess kids could easily spend 3 or 4 hours here. They will!Adults we could spend even more as we try to understand and read every single card. Prepare to walk and be standing. Plan for certain breaks to just sit down or eat something. They allow to bring your own food and snacks to be eaten in certain areas. They sell food as well. So this is a mini fun park. (As stated not so mini of you read details).I spent 5+ hours here. I took my time to ready and went through every single thing there is. I did fly quickly ok a few .... but trust me this is a whole lot of interesting things! Absolutely worth it!The views the flow the teams the details everything is amazing. All kinds of genres and exhibits. Amazing learning and fun.Plus you get your workout from walking to, inside and leaving.Great place that I will visit often as exhibits change.TEAMS PLUS EVERYTHING HERE IS AMAZING!!!
For a first time visitor, I was overwhelmed by the vast collection and every corner took me by interest. The opening times were not long enough to be able to see and appreciate all it has to offer. I visited on a weekday, late January and I have to say it was not busy at all. I had access to all exhibits and a 4d movie about dinosaurs and they did not diaappoint. Museum was kept to a wonderful standard and overall I had an enjoyable experience, wanting to be able to see everything with unfortunately little time.
Fun! The underground adventure is must if you are with kids - reallyanimatedandimaginative. The art in the Apsaalooke Women and Warriors exhibit was beautiful - they have style!
So much to see! This was one of the easiest museums for us to navigate. We easily found all the exhibits we wanted to see. Stay was friendly and helpful. Areas to eat are bright and clean, as are the restrooms. We packed our own lunch and brought it in and had a very nice place to sit and eat.
The Field Museum is massive but I found that most of the museum is just stuffed animals from all around the world. I recognize it can be cool, but I wish there was more emphasis on the prehistoric animals and human cultures. But it’s a great place to bring kids. Also it smells like an old museum sometimes.
Wonderful museum. We could have spent two days here! There is so much to see. Thousands of species of animals. Some over 120 years old. The Egyptian exhibit was my favorite, and of course Sue, the T-Rex.
Very clean. But they have always been like that before covid. Took my kids they had fun.
