Solid to above average in terms of taste. Ambiance is very nice and uniqueness of food selection is above average. Its 65 bux a person for a pre fixe menu. You get a starter, entree, and dessert, which all in all is pretty fairly priced in my opinion. The portions are def solid and you arent leaving hungry.
Another awesome visit here!! HOWEVER....I was overcharged for a 9.50 dollar of bottle water! Ive already spoken to the manager but have yet to see the correction. Ill be following up with this. Other than that whats not to like about this restaurant. Ive been here many times and brought my sister here. She was amazed! We had a great lunch and the oysters I had were so good!!! Soooo good!! My sister had the shrimp fettuccine and said it was great! Our waiter Jaime was nice and prompt accept for the overcharge on the water.
I went there a couple weeks ago for an event, so I decided to go back an try their happy hour. This happy hour made me the happiest of any Ive been to in LA.First of all, the happy hour lasts from 5-8pm. One of the longest happy hours Ive found.
Dont come here enough but Wednesday night salsa dancing here is the epitome of salsa dancing. Hot, sweaty, compact, and all about the vibes. No dancing robots nor stiff dance partners.
We attended the Unbridled Thursday night show and it was incredible. We reserved an unobstructed parlor table for dinner and the food was a la carte style. Large plates are main meal and small plates are like sides or appetizers. The extensive whiskey selection was intriguing and we tried a favorite flight and a cocktail of the month; both wonderful. The show was incredible. The burlesque style show was so cool to watch and the performers talents were amazing. We definitely will be coming back.
We were here for a company holiday party. This is such a cool place. The prohibition theme is unique and really well done. The food was good and the wait staff, bartenders, management and door men were all top notch. I cant wait to come back and sit in the main dining room and be able to listen to the live music.
One of the most fun places for a night out in Chicago. Excellent food, a huge whiskey selection, 5 different bars and live music with a tease of burlesque between sets. Our group luckily found a table that someone never showed up for...make a reservation if you know you will end up there. Fun for all ages and a very diverse crowd. Prices are great considering the venue.
WOW. Just went they for drinks right after work because a friends recommended it. The library room really has a great vibe. I had the old fashion which was killer! I cant speak to the food as we did not eat. Looking forward to going later in the evening. If you want whiskey, youll be lost in the choices.
The preeminent Chicago experience for dinner, entertainment, and (later in the evening) hot DJs and a killer dance floor.A whiskey library with over 500+ different whiskeys. A weekly Thursday cabaret show. A Michelin Bib Gourmand rated menu. And best of all, a cool, slick speakeasy vibe.Ive been all over Chicago and I always come back to Untitled.
Our server, Andres, was amazing! Very kind and attentive man.The woman who sat us, unfortunately, was a deeply unpleasant and rude person. We had a reservation and she sat us, which was fine, but maybe an hour later asked us who sat us and if we had a reservation, and made it seem like we were lying and just came in off the street or something. For a somewhat pricey ($150 for 2?) meal, I expect hostesses to be better at their jobs, and ultimately just kinder people.
Damn, where to begin.... First time here was an amazing experience. Its definitely a hidden gem, almost walked right past it. Your greeted by 2 big wooden doors, once inside you walk down a staircase into this relaxing atmosphere with very dimmed lighting. Every table had a single small candle as a light source. Whiskey menu was massive. For starters, the pretzel, had a horseradish sauce, cheese cup,and I would assume a cheddar style butter(not sure) everything was great. Dinner, a melt in your mouth lamb t bone. I mean WOW, thats lamb. As for the live music part, Breezy Rodio, a combination of soul, jazz, and swing. Outstanding performance, if I lived in the city, I would be a regular. Price..... expensive but I did not care.
We visited for my kids 21st birthdays. The meal was better than I expected, the skirt steak and ribeye were on point. However, dont go for the drinks, they are weak. Do go for the entertainment; at times funny and others simply awestruck. The guy with the bowling balls opens the show and he is pretty amazing as are the dancers, esp. the women dancing on their own -- great creativity and mad skills. Our server was attentive and charming.
This spot provides wonderful service as well as delicious food. The best restaurant around town. The drinks and food came out fast and the rates are fair. I recommend this place.
Why anyone would patronize an establishment that has strict dress codes to help patrons feel more comfortable is beyond me. Was in the area and wanted to step in for a drink with a buddy on Saturday, but nope, t-shirts not allowed on weekends (but weekdays are okay?). We werent even messy looking. The bouncer even had the balls to suggest another bar for me to go to a few blocks away that would be more fitting for me.Yeah no, Ill go to literally any other bar WITHIN THE BLOCK that actually wants to take my money.
This was a random visit. A friend who lives in Chicago has recommended for us to visit as it has live performance. Food was tasty . There was three of us (girls) .We ordered bunch of things to share and it worked out great. They did have a live performance. They had a good number of burlesque dancers and a juggler from France. Very talented.crew. MC stole the show she was funny.
I came very presentable minus my all black casual shoes. First bouncer brings it to my attention nicely regarding my shoes and refers me to the second bouncer who tried to hustle me for money to get in. Ill pass. Dont waste your time or money.
Awesome time with my fiance for our second anniversary. Food was excellent and the wait staff even signed a card for us for our anniversary. Our waitress, Samantha, was amazing. Very attentive, we always had full drinks and she graciously took our picture. The bouncer was really cool and friendly to joke with. He also took our picture for us. Very lively atmosphere, coat check and comfortable seating. I recommend getting a private booth for romantic occasions. Also, over 600 types of whiskey. If you are feeling adventurous, try new types of food here. Cheese platter was interesting and the cheesecake is not what you would expect, although quite good.
Great ambiance, and the best whiskey sour ever!
This was me and my husbands first time at this venue. We went on a Friday night. We werecelebrating our anniversary and decided to go with a 1920s theme since Saturday we were attending a 1920s party. This place was awesome! From the food to the service to the ambiance this place is top notch.
Ive been to Untitled the two times Ive visited Chicago. Each time has been fantastic, the staff are incredible, knowledgeable, and suave. The menu is unique and exquisite. I especially enjoy the live music on Blues Monday. Their alcohol selection is unparalleled. Absolutely a must visit for any trip through Chicago.
Hands-down one of my favorite spots! The live entertainment and short ribs & scallop do not disappoint. The rib-eye is pretty good as well.
Untitled is the best even through out the years. The place is beautiful. Even the bathrooms are glamorous. Prohibition style inspiration adds an extra charm. The drinks are awesome, good selection of beers, good food. Great entertainment, live and DJ music, variety show, including flapper dancers, and even a glamorous stripteaser, very enticing but super classy though. Great night out with friends, or your Beau.
I think I just found my new other favorite place. I loved the ambience. My servers name was Kelsey, and she just made my first time visit so comfortable and pleasant. She was so warm, informative and attentive....And that band was incredible....
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Fantastic cocktails, live music and very good snacks. The meals looked fantastic as well. Really enjoyed the atmosphere
I’m addicted to this place! What’s not to like? One of a kind drinks... check. Food is high quality with great presentation to boot. Exceptional service and awesome entertainment. Snagged a customer for life! Check it out.
We were blown away. This is a restaurant you have to go to. Just let the servers tell you what to get..youll love it. Pasta is off the charts. Band was great. Unreal atmosphere. Thank you untitled.
Great ambiance, good food, good drinks and lots of live entertainment.
Good food, great entertainment and atmosphere. My date and friends had a Ball!
The club scene in Chicago has slowly slowed down over the last 5yrs, but this place was amazing. Good music, good drinks, good vibes. A must go on a Friday or Saturday night.
The service was super slow, the food was just so-so, when it finally did come out. They brought the food out over 20 min apart from the others at the table so we couldnt enjoy the food together. The band under-delivered for the promise made on the marketing materials. Before we could pay our expensive bill, they were trying to kick us out to get the next seating in by turning the lights uncomfortably high. We hadnt been asked about dessert yet or coffee. It was a disappointing experience. Atmosphere was cool but I wont eat there again for sure and it will be the last time I hype it up to bring 6 others who were also disappointed.
This is one of the most unique places Ive been. The performances we saw and the food we had was amazing.A one of a kind experience with amazing atmosphere.
Came here with my boyfriend for Valentines Day and we had a blast. Music was AMAZING!! Definitely on our radar when we come to Chicago.
Although I didnt spend as much time here as I wouldve liked, it was a cool hang spot. Seeing security on the door with a big, bushy beard made me feel at home and definitely let me know this is not a hipster bar. Like I said, not a lot of time here, they were closing but we got set up with bourbon for our group so we could experience the Chicago vibe which was cool. Gotta make it back next time Im in town.
Was hosting an outing with friends from michigan. Managed to lose my coat and boyfriends phone. Everyone was so helpful finding both! Thank you for being so patient with us as we had too many drinks and were definetly difficult patrons! Thank you all for being so great! Greta drinks, amazing food and one of a kind atmosphere.
The food and ambience was amazing but the service wasnt up to par. Our server didnt make eye contact at all, barely checked on us and my husband has to request him of he can give us our check while the server was watching the show.
The waiter, John stole $50 cash from the cash that was given to him towards the bill and then indicated that our bill was short $70. I had to confronted John about the money that he stole. John gave the $50 back upon the confrontation. He lied to the manager about what really happened. The manager compensated us by taking $70 off the bill! Horrible experience! Good food and entertainment but I will NOT go back because I CANT trust this establishment!!! Interesting fact: John trains all the new wait staff at Untitled. So, if you go, count your cash....and count your cash again...and again...and again before giving it your waiter. Or just GO SOMEWHERE ELSE where they dont steal or lie!
Defenetly have to go if your in the chicago area. Went on a buisness trip and was glad i got to go. Tye food was amazing and also had a nice burlesque show after.
Read the reviews here, decided to do the lounge show, dinner and drinks. Our waiter was (at times) non existant. She took our drink order, then informed us 10 minutes later they could not make a brandy Manhattan, as they dont carry brandy. Seems hard to believe being next to Wisconsin, the largest consumer of brandy in the nation.Food is tapas style, but they call themselves a supper club. Not where I come from. Overpriced for what you receive (or lack of) and marginal quality, the food did arrive quickly.Entertainment was on time, polished, fun and paced well. The sound system/mix on the vocals was muddy, hard to understand the singers patter between songs. The vibe is cool, very dark, and it is an obvious hit as it was packed. I would recommend the entertainment minus the food, but that has you standing most of the night unless you get very lucky and find a place at the bar.
Went there for drinks one night after dinner based upon a recommendation. After dinner cocktails were fantastically executed and the venue has a great atmosphere and whiskey selection.
Food is very good, drinks are very good with a great selection of bourbon. Atmosphere is also very unique, we try to go every time we are in Chicago.
Very chic and plush. great place for their daily events. plus a nice hidden place for their happy hour. every whisky and bourbon made is available 400+ lol
Beautiful location. Everyone was very nice. Celebrated my husbands 50th Birthday there. Would definitely do it again.
I love this place....both times I have been there the music and vibe was amazing!
Loved our service and the vibe of this place. The food was outstanding and the drinks werent crazy expensive but they were amazing. Totally well priced and the live music was amazing!!!!
Great place for date then dancing afterward. Dance floor opens up around 10ish. Hip-hop/pop
It could have been a 5, but our server was terrible. We saw the burlesque show, it was super fun. Food was delicious!!!However server put our order in wrong, still attempted to charge us for the food we did not order. She rarely checked in and seemed to not have a personality.
A wonderful prohibition style speakeasy influenced by an earlier time featuring live music and exceptional service. Food was amazing and they offer shared menu items as well as lots of amazing small plates and sides. Great drink menu featuring lots of classics made originally and a tremendous amount of different whiskey.
Great fun place. Food was good, but very poor service. Would go back for drinks and dancing, but Id have dinner somewhere else.
Aesthetic was lovely, show was great, and appetizer was delicious. The main course was decent but I was expecting better than decent
Bland, overpriced food. Pretentious staff. Vast whiskey selection.
The burlesque show was amazing. But the food was overpriced for the quality. Drinks were good but definitely expensive. Skip the VIP table and go to the bar instead.
Great vibe. Food and beverage on par with anyone else in the neighborhoodWonderful stage entertainment for a great price ..zero cover!
Really, really, really good. Did I say really good? Everything was delicious. My only downside was the cheese tray was a bit sparse but otherwise the portions were reasonable, the service was top notch and despite not seeing any other children ours both under 10, were treated very well including a full tour of the facility including the VIP areas. The live music was excellent and the atmosphere spot on. And wait, did I day really good?
This place is awesome. I felt like I was in a 1920s speakeasy. Awesome live music, lots of cool bars
This place has a great vibe, and a really cool idea behind it. That being said, the service is absolutely awful. We were a group of 6 who came for the unbridled show on Thursday night, and I think that in the three hours we were there, the waitress came by three times to check on us. The cocktails are alright, priced appropriately for the neighborhood and the venue, but nothing to write home about. Their whiskey selection is top notch, so that’s a big plus. Finishing a drink in 15 minutes and then waiting empty handed for 30+ minutes while you look around the room trying to wave down a waitress is a huge drag. Some of my friends commented that they usually bring some cash so they can go grab drinks from the bar instead of waiting for service, which is fine in a dive bar, but when your bill at the end of the night is close to $600 for your table, that kind of service is completely unacceptable.
Stumbled upon this place and was pleasantly surprised. Amazing setting, great food, and very friendly service. A new favorite!
Do not be confused with finding an entrance first time. It has no sign on it, just a big door with a security guy in front. Very nice interior, delicious food, but very-very slow service.Try deserts! Cream brule was especially great.
Super fun club with different styles of music in each room. Food was delicious albeit pricey. Beautiful layout. Only downside was that it was my sisters bachelorette and they enforced the dress code so she had to leave her veil at door (they noticed the sash at dinner and made her remove it). It was nothing obnoxious or crude, just a sash saying bachelorette so it seemed a little silly to make her remove it, but they werent rude at all about it. Would definitely go again.
Untitled is the type of place that has the perfect wow factor for almost any occasion.During my first visit here, a group of us came around 10pm for drinks and apps. We were seated in the room where there was a live singing performance going on. The musicians were talented, but this isnt a room you would want to sit in if you want to be able to easily hear your dinner companion (due to how loud it was). Luckily, Untitled is large and is sectioned off into different rooms and each have their own feel. The second time I came to Untitled, my group was seated in the Whiskey Library, and I liked the cozy atmosphere. Before you come here, please be aware of the dress code that includes no t-shirts, shorts, sandals, or athletic shoes.Untitled has pages of whiskeys and bourbons available on their menu, so whiskey and bourbon lovers will feel right at home here. There are also several cocktails and wines to pick from as well. The potato galette and short baos were both really good. The short rib baos could have really benefited from some sort of light Asian inspired dipping sauce due to the dryness. The pork chop was super tender and full of flavor. The pumpkin creme brulee was amazing, and I appreciate the fact that they offer a pumpkin dessert all year long.During both visits, the service was pretty average. During my second visit, the kitchen forgot about one of the side dishes I had ordered. Since this place mainly offers shared plates, everyones dishes comes out at different times, so I didnt ask the waitress about the missing dish until half way through the meal. The waitress offered to put the order in a second time, but by then all of my friends were done eating. I just decided to order a dessert at that point. Simple mistake, but I know that next time I may need to be more proactive if it seems to be taking too long for a dish to come out.
Great vibe with generous drinks.
Great upscale bar and food. The live piano jazz was excellent
This could probably have been a four star experience if not for what felt like summer exclusionary policies. Let me explain. The ONLY reason we were there was to see the musical act, of whom we are huge fans. When I made the reservation I noticed that their policy requires guests to eat dinner (in lieu of charging an entrance fee). What I did not notice was they also warn that guests may be asked to move after two hours. While I kind of understand the first policy (the price off the meal is a fair price to see good entertainers), I have a problem with the intent and execution of the second. It seems like Untitled should ask for one or the other in cases like this. If Im spending $150 for two people to eat, at that point Ive paid a ticket price of $75 per person. At that point my seat should be guaranteed. If not, then keep it at something like a two drink minimum and Ill gladly give up my seat after a certain time. Failing that, it should at least be obvious that the policy is being enforced equally. The person asking people to leave seemed to be selectively picking tables to leave. There were several tables near us who got there before we did who were not approached about this two hour limit. Again, this seemed exclusionary to say the list.Anyway, we probably wont be back. The food we had was fine, but not good enough to justify the price point minus a show. And if we want to see a show there we MIGHT just sit at the bar (but given this experience, Im hard pressed to imagine us even doing that).TL;DR Foods ok, but expensive. 2 hour limit for a show while requiring dinner is wack.
It was okay.I know some people will say this is their favorite bar. And they have every reason to love it.Me, I didnt care for the art decor motif. I also didnt like how low the lights were. Im an old man and cant read very well by candlelight. They do have an excellent selection of whiskeys. If you are in Chicago and wanting to drink whiskey in a low lighted area, stop on by. Just because it wasnt my kind of place doesnt mean it wont be your kind of place.
The place is made to feel like a speakeasy from yesterday, with the cool black & white that play vintage movie to “The largest Whiskey Bar in the city”, according to our waiter. The is a fun place to hang out and have a slow drink kind of place. We were there during “Restaurant week” as get to sample many dishes at a set fee. Our party had the daily oysters, lamb & pork meat ball, deviled egg, grilled caesar salad, burrata & beets, grilled skirt steak, twice roasted chicken, skin bay salmon in banana leaf, cheese cake, pumpkin spice cream brûlée. No complaints, just wish the portion size was little bigger ;-)2 Tips, if you have 6 people or more reserves the private booth, it’s more quite and fun for your group. And bring small bills to the bathroom, there’s a attendant working in there and you may need to tip him/her.
I have mixed feelings about this place. I ordered an Old Fashioned and it may be the worst one Ive ever had but they also have Brenne (French Single Malt Whiskey) which is incredibly rare. Also, the crowd is not really my vibe. But Im interested in coming back to try their dinner menu. It looks delicious and their kitchen is open till 12am with the full menu! Thats awesome!
Magic. Blues night never disappoints. Love this place. Wait staff is incredibly friendly and engaging.
Great food, good service. AMAZING live music. Great date night option. Multiple rooms with different feel under the same roof. Check it out!
Great space, menu and cocktails. Also has late night menu so worth hitting after midnight. Huge space. Massive whiskey collection. Strong cocktails
Came for a few drinks with friends but stayed because stephanie kept giving us the best recommendations. I consider myself a whiskey connoisseur but she knew more than me
Had a great dinner and saw a live band. Great service. Felt very taken care of.
Overall: A great option for a classier night out, centered on whiskey and low lighting. The good: For being an underground bar, theres a surprising amount of room (3 main chambers). And the styles of those rooms are warm, prohibition-esque, and generally classy. The drinks are strong and theres plenty to choose from, including some food (but Ive only ever had snacks here). And, it sounds odd to say this coming from a guy, but the bathrooms are nice hah.The not-so-good: On the pretty expensive end, and if the night is busy it can be hard to get a drink and/or a seat. As nice as their bathrooms are, they have those attendants that you are expected to tip, which makes for an awkward experience.Food/drink: 8/10Atmosphere: 9/10Service: 8/10
The food here is always great. Unique vibe and stylish design. Their live performances are not to be missed. The only thing I find lacking is the service.
Perfectly made cocktails and great atmosphere. This is quintessential old Chicago. Locals add this to your list.
Just wow! Amazing food & great atmosphere. Whiskey lovers...they have over 500 different whiskeys! Definitely will return.
This place is a serious 10! From the staff, to the atmosphere, to the food and last but not least, the entertainment!
Very cool spot....bartenders were fast and music was good. FUN!
Ive been here only a handful of times but each time was a perfect experience. Drinks are top notch, service is fast, the music is awesome, and the people (staff and patrons) are all great to be around. No comment on the food as I havent eaten here, yet. Ive met some really awesome people in this place. 10/10 would recommend.
Chill place to relax, watch an old Jimmy Stewart movie, and drink some top shelf whiskey. Also, hands-down the prettiest restroom Ive ever seen.
Great atmosphere and great drinks. Fun place to listen to live music and dance.
Love this speakeasy club/lounge. We went here on a Thursday night and had a blast. Great vibe, music and crowd. Had a good time with friends.
Door staff was really cool. Told me they shouldn’t let me in because I had a T-shirt. Upon Entering half the people in this place had T-shirt’s on. Ok. No big deal. But the food was absolute garbage and I felt like I was in a run down club from 2007. I would recommend this place after you’ve got completely hammered somewhere else.
Visited their Monday blues night and it was just great. The band sounded really nice and because its Monday - not too crowded. If you sit in the same room with the band its hard to talk but you can really enjoy the music. Otherwise if you wanna chat and have the music on the background there are many other rooms.Food and drinks are delicious and look exquisite.Cant wait to go back there for the weekly Thursday show
Staff is great, food is good. I liked octopus, short rib and scallops. Don’t expect an artistic burlesque
Good ambiance, menu items that we ordered were not great, drinks high.but we saw a GREAT performance from Jay Adams (Slique) Marvellous
Definitely easy to miss the ivy covered building, as there is no sign on the building, look for the valet stand. Interesting mix of Library lounge with outdoor patio.
Love taking people to this place, Whiskey room cannot be topped! Great service and expertly crafted cocktails, such a treat! Food options are fantastic as well, didnt even realize they did happy hour! Bar bites half off? Yea, Ill take that! Dont miss out on this place, especially Thursday night Unbridled events! You will not want to miss the show!
Im not much of a clubber so this place was the best of both worlds. They have a chill area, although the musics pretty loud so I cant say how chill most people will find it. There was an area for people who enjoy music from the late 80s and 90s. And the main area is for the current era of music. That area is also where you buy food. The drinks were good with a nice alcohol/chaser ratio. This was my second visit.
Very cool club that is capable of hosting a variety of events. Great staff and great drinks.
As a visitor to Chicago, I loved it. Friendly bouncers and the live music was incredible. Definitely recommend.
Worst experience I’ve ever had in the US and frankly around the world. We waited for more than an hour for our entrees. We raised our concerns with no apologies or feedback at all from the staff. Finally after several requests we managed to talk to the manager who apologised as they ran out of skirt steaks - needless to mention nobody ever bothered to tell us that. Icing on the cake that one of the servers yelled at my mother-in-law once she dared to correct him about our order.A place which managed to ruin a lovely day in a lovely city. A true disgrace.
From North Carolina. Me and my husband at the best time ever. I well come back when we come back here. They staff is awesome. They was on point with everything
