Best shape Ive seen the course in some years! Greens and fairways were excellent. I also shot my best round of the year today! Keep up the good work.
I preface this 5 stars due to the price being the best deal in town, $25 bucks to walk 18 holes in Chicago is unprecedented and appreciated. The course has its challenges but with the “Obama Tiger complex” in flux well see what becomes of this relic in a few short years. Highly recommended while it’s still here.
I live in Wisconsin and I drive down at least twice a year to play this course. Great course with great views of Chicago. Very flat and easy to walk. Save a few bucks on a cart and get some good exercise.
This is one of the best designed (Tom Bendelow) and well thought out golf courses around. The views are priceless, the maintainance is superb. It would be a crime against humanity to bulldoze it for something that will fail ($$$).A real gem of a golf course, and it looks so easy.............
Well maintained and interesting holes. Very walkable. I will return.
Historic park of chicago
Pretty straight forward course with a few long par 5s. Fairways and greens in good condition.
The course was fun to play on and the holes were diverse and interesting. The area could be better, as one end of the course goes into a very loud urban area which is a very contrasting setting from the lush forests of the start. Also, none of the water coolers were filled, so more organization with refilling them may be required.
Its only bad when you have to cross the street. Nobody obeys street signs. People are always driving super fast around there. The speed limit is 30 not 70. And for everyone who doesnt know. The street sign that has a person on it walking and it also says the word stop on it. That means youre supposed to stop for pedestrians and allow them to cross. State law why isnt it being enforced. I almost got hit the other day in my golf cart because somebody was coming around the corner extremely fast. And where were the police? sitting right across the street at the gas station doing nothing. so Im here to tell everybody find somewhere else to golf its not even worth it youre risking your life over here
Perfect 18 hole course in the city.
The course is in great condition even with lack of rain.
No carts allowed, and no push carts available. Poor course condition, slow pace of play and no enforcement, not nearly enough spacing between groups. No drink cart, one restroom, no water available.
Best course in the city ....!!!!
A diverse location for everyone Leslie Harrison Ward 90 recommended highly
Very nice and clean!
Looks pretty. Very well kept. Thats because Those People use it often.
Great place to go golfing very safe
Good grounds for the money, pace and helpful staff. Great to have a public 18 of this caliber in the city.
Probably one of the best public golf courses Ive ever played on
I had a wonderful time thats the first time that I was able to walk that far on my own and it was a blessing ️ and to meet people and I will be returning soon
Love it cant wait to see what Tiger Woods has in store for it.
Really like this course. Great value, well maintained, friendly staff.
A little pricey not to have any sand in the sand traps. Hospitality was average. No beverages cart. Management attitude appeared whether she didnt care whether you played or not.
This course is VERY PRICEY for what it is. $50 for a round with golf cart. You can drive some of the par 4s here. Luckily it will be a better course sooner then later.
It was nice pleasant and interesting and you and I very much I recommend it to anyone
Great place to be. Thank you for all great time :)
Snotty bald head lady. Jackson park owner only replies to positive reviews unlike mine! Which shows a lot
Surprisingly delightful. Would play over Sydney any day
Course is in as best of shape as I have ever seen. They are doing a great job with the maintenance of the course. Super friendly staff.
Wonderful Southside golf course!
Ok to start TERRIBLE, spider web covered carts overpriced and rude “clubhouse” staff. This course is ridiculously priced 55.00 water 2.75 burnt hot dog 6.50 the staff in the wish it was a clubhouse rude not personal at all. The starter was a decent person but seemed lost and unaware. Now the course, ugly short run down and not inviting the greens are slow and covered in old divot marks the dirt traps not sand traps have a nice design but are filled with rock and dirt...I played it and got more and more disappointed at every tee box by the lack of concern they put in it and the stupid price they charge..STAY AWAY
Good 18 holes. Reasonably priced. Longest hole 559 yards!
Great place to visit must go
Excellent
The course was in pretty good shape. It wasnt overly crowded but some golfers were having fun.
Excellent place to go and golf during spring time.
I preface this 5 stars due to the price being the best deal in town, $25 bucks to walk 18 holes in Chicago is unprecedented and appreciated.
Very nice Public golf course. Plays fast for most of the course. Friendly for a weekend golfer - with some trees and green side bunkers.
Great value for the golf. Staff is friendly, and greens are in nice shape for a public course.
Beautiful view along the route
Great inexpensive place to shoot 9
I live in Lincoln Park and consider Jackson Park my home course. I try to play at least 2 times a month, during the golf season. It’s a well-maintained, full-length 18 hole course, in the city, for just $35 on the weekends — what more can you want? There aren’t many cities the size of Chicago lucky enough to have such an asset. The staff is very friendly and down to earth. The clubhouse is a classic 1920’s building, right down to the terra cotta roof. You can get food, drinks, and beer at the clubhouse. The course itself is nice. It’s an old course, so the greens are smaller, as was the standard before gas-powered mowers and mechanical water pumping systems. The greens roll true, and fairways are in good shape.Pace of play is usually fine. In the afternoons, the course is often quite open, so no crowds to deal with.My only knock on the course is the bunkers — yes, a lot of them are more mud than sand, and some do have rocks. But let’s get real — it’s unrealistic to expect Augusta-style conditions at a $35 muni. File that under “1st World Problems.”Bottom-line: pretty, historic muni, well maintained, friendly staff, unpretentious atmosphere, all at a very affordable price.
Will be sad to see this one go, affordable golf in the city.
Interesting features
Great place for golf
My back yard!
You should probably have your staff who is on site stay in the club house while you are supposed to be open instead of going out for a round and tell me that they close early today. A Wednesday. And I called to make sure they were open no less than 15 mins before I arrived.
Not well kept for there the price
I goth are free in the offseason no one said anything to me.
Good beginner course
VERY NICE . STAFF IS EXCELLANT. COURSE IS IN GREAT SHAPE.
Amazingly fun public course. Itll be a shame when it has to make way for the Tiger Woods course.
Sucks
The course is open, forgiving, and great for higher handicappers. A round is about $25- a great value in the city
Quick semi difficult and affordable.
Lakefront very close. Nice views.
The run was great!
Friendly staff. Poorly kept course. No sand in the traps. But always interesting people watching.
Decent course for the price and proximity, but dont expect fireworks
This public course could use some work. The hazards are poorly maintained, with rock hard bunkers. Tee boxes need re-sodding and greens are bumpy. Golf is always enjoyable so I still had a good time, just dont expect it to be because of the course.
Friendly people and nice environment.
Great short course. Oldest golf course west of the Allegheny.
Good course but crossing a busy streets seems a little dangerous
I visited the harbor for fishing. Didnt catch anything but I must say it was clean.
1st place I learn to play golf at
A gem in Chicago I didnt know existed until now.
Good area to walk around.
Good place to hang with other boaters
Friendly people and nice environment.
