Probably the highlight of our Chicago trip, Biggie Blue Eyes absolutely nailed his role as our guide for the tour. What can I say about this guy, he was fantastic! Witty, funny, knowledgeable and believable - his accent and lingo sounded super authentic - at least to us out-of-towners! He paced the tour really well and managed a perfect balance between being informative and being entertaining, if you have even the slightest interest in the darker, grimier side of Chicagos history this tour is a must-do. The merchandise available at the end of the tour isnt just tacky, touristy rubbish either. We bought a book with stories and pictures that more deeply covered much of the stuff we saw and heard on the tour which was a great souvenir from this leg of our trip to go with the photos Biggie was so kind and patient to humour us all by taking. This tour was brilliant, very highly recommended.
Our tour guide was fun and entertaining. Ive been reading a lot about Chicago during the prohibition era lately, so it was nice to see a lot of the places in person and learn a few other things I didnt know. They gave a lot of interesting facts about several different neighborhoods, landmarks and people...and I won a shot glass!
Biggie Blue Eyes was a fantastic tour guide... From his authentic accent; to his knowledge in answering questions; to his charming whistle; to keeping my boys interested... This was a great experience all around. This was a last minute decision to veer off our Go Chicago pass and we are thankful to have had this experience. The book was a great addition too!
This was one of the best tours weve taken. Our tour guide was Biggy Blue Eyes. He was very knowledgeable of the history. We got to see parts of Chicago we probably wouldnt have seen. The pickup/drop off point is very convenient. Theres a huge McDonalds nearby to stay warm or cool in the summer. The trip is pretty bumpy. Stay away from the seats over wheels.
The tour was OK. Its a drive around a bunch neighborhoods throughout Chicago. The story telling by the actor was pretty entertaining. Chicago definitely has a history that, when animated, is captivating. One of the most frustrating things about the tour is the bus wrap. As you can see in the photo, youre looking out a fine mesh for the whole ride. Its REALLY difficult to see out the windows, even on a sunny day. My advice to the tour company is to totally reconsider the window wraps. It takes so much away from the experience of seeing the different points of interest.
This is a great tour with lots of personality. We had an excellent tour guide that was non-stop fun with corny jokes and lots of great history of gangsters. Pretty easy to find the pickup spot close to the McDonalds. We boarded and the tour was on. Our guide stayed in character and kept us laughing the entire time. I really enjoyed it. You are inside the bus in AC at all times so this was pretty good for what I was looking for. I really liked the tour, would have given 5 stars if I could see out the window without needing glasses due to the wrap on the windows... seriously who thought that was a good idea for a tour bus? As Ive seen posted elsewhere, the buss has some wrap on it that basically makes you feel like you need glasses. You can see the the outline of things but no detail. Thats the only downside. If you already need glasses maybe this isnt the tour for you. Seriously get rid of the wrap on the windows.
I would not recommend this tour. Our guide was so easily distracted, he would stop mid sentence and sometimes never come back to the original thought. The bus driver seemed to need directions. It was more of a inter city bus ride. Not what I expected. Very disappointed.
Great time. Very informative and enjoyable. Our guide was very fun and funny. Totally loved it!
If you are into Mob history, this tour is fun and interesting. Our tour guides were Shoulders and Slippery Sloop. They go out of there way to give you lots of historical information and make you laugh to ensure you have a good time. You get to drive around and see some of the old sites where the old prohibition gangs used to hang out and where certain crimes happened. Of course, being that the gangs operated during the 20s, some of the old sites are gone. It is also a nice tour around the city. Overall, these guys give you a lot of information and strive to help you have a good time, remember to tip your tour guides!
We chose the tour when we saw that there would be actors - and we were not let down. The tour was one of the best things we did on our short trip to Chicago! The actors were funny and told the most interesting and hilarious stories about Prohibition and Gangsters in Chicago. We had Johnny Three Knives and Johnny Rocco leading the tour that night and they were amazingly entertaining! We sang together and acted in the whole spectacle and had a blast on this tour. Highly recommend taking the evening tour which is kind of more gangster style ;)The entertainers show you some common places like the Magnificent Mile and the Bean and stuff, but the best thing for us was that we were able to take a glimpse of the not so touristy neighborhoods as well - like the South Side (Little Italy, Pilsen etc. ) which we enjoyed it very much!!
Gangster tour with a side of comedy. You do not get off the bus during the tour, you remain seated inside the bus the entire time. My advice, sit on the LEFT side (the driver side of the bus) so that you can get a good view of the bullet hole in the Holy Name Cathedral wall and a good view of the Biograph Theater. This way, you can get good photos of the top 2 locations of the tour without heads/people in your way.The tour guide was wrong about the Chicago fire being caused by a cow. Even the Chicago History Museum has disproven that claim (check the museums exhibit). Stop spreading fake news.
This Tour was so much fun. Out Tour Guide, Johnny 3 Knives made it great, he remained in character from before we loaded the bus, throughout and after, he knew the history from 1871 through the Prohibition era of gangsters, Through today, Thank You Mr 3 Knives, I highly recommend this tour and would do it again, And thank you for accepting my Military Discount
Terribly disappointing. Tour bus windows wrapped on the outside with wonderful pictures of Chicagos Gangsters. Great advertising for Untouchable Tours Company. $$$$However, from inside, visibility is severely reduced. I suggest that everyone buying last minute tickets - ask to step inside the bus to see for yourself the visibility issues. In fact, I suggest that the owners of Untouchable Tours consider relocating the wrap off the bus windows and onto the lower section of the bus.Advertising (getting tourists to buy tickets) should not inhibit paying customers from the quality of the tour (the ability to see clearly our of each window).Visibility was so bad, when asked to view the bullet hole on the front of the Holy Name Cathedral, I would have had to step outside the bus to see the bullet hole clearly.Tour guide Slippery Slope did a wonderful job. However, because of the advertising wrap visibility issues, it felt more like an audio tour than an audio/visual tour!
The guide Slippery Sloop did an incredible job in keeping us entertained. The downside on was the wrap on the bus made it impossible to take any pictures. My only suggestion and one that would have made the tour a five star would be stops along the way for photo opportunities.
What seemed like a good tour was ruined by rain, and not in the way you would think). Tented windows made it impossible to see when wet. I felt horrible for our Gangster Guide, Johnny Rocco, because he was doing such a great job trying to wipe the windows down while trying to stay in character but whoevers idea it was to place the advertising window tents up either needs to (1) refund my money or (2) give me a free bus tour without the window tents. If it is raining, you will absolutely get NOTHING out of this tour unless you are one of the lucky 3 people to win the Gangster Raffle at the end of it
Good: The tour guide was good, gave nice info and worked hard to provide an entertaining tour.Bad: The air conditioner did not work and the bus was extremely hot (guide blamed it on being in Chicago in summer even though the day was in the 60s). And there was mesh over the window making it impossible to take clear pictures. The bus does NOT stop (which they make clear) nor does it slow down so you cant take pictures of the historical sites.Overall: NOT worth the money they charge.
Great way to see parts of Chicago you wouldn’t normally see. Biggy Blue Eyes entertained us with Mob stories, jokes and even a little raffle on the tour bus.
This is my second tour with high school and junior high school age band students. My kids love it. They enjoy the guides and like kidding around with them. Theres a lot of info for them and its presented in a way that sinks in. Its a good way to entertain a big group without a lot of expense. Everyone is on the bus for the duration of the tour. It makes for good afternoon after a morning on your feet at a museum or aquarium. I will do this tour again. We had a great time.
Had the best time with my daughter and grandson!
This was my birthday present from my sister. My wife, sister, 17 year old son and I went. It was a cool day so I can’t comment on a/c. Bus was comfortable and the guide was very knowledgeable. Good stories with a mix of comedy. Everyone enjoyed it. We have taken other tours in the city and so far this is the best land based one.
Very nice guide but the tour itself is not worthy it at all!! Too expensive. It doesn’t really offer anything else than a bus ride around the city
Great experience! Cool Chicago stories, historical landmarks, and very entertaining tour guide - loved every minute!!!
I’m from Chicago and love mobster stories. But what I liked best is that you see parts and learn about areas of Chicago you would not normally get on a typical tour.
This tour and group of guys were top notch. The bus showed up on time right outside of McDonalds like they said. The tour itself was extremely interesting and they kept it engaging. The guides are really witty which makes it fun for everyone on the bus. They raffled off some free merchandise at the end as well which was a really nice touch. Overall, Id recommend these guys if youre looking to learn about the history of Chicagos underbelly.
Bang Bang thats the sound of my gun! Unbelievable nice tour with tour guides dressed up as good old gangsters. I recommend this tour in addition to the standard tours in Chicago to get a little bit of the feeling and the history of the gentlemen working in Chicago at that time. A lot of information as well as unknown facts and untold stories are provided. bought myself a machine gun tie clip, was not bullied since :-)
Revision: We received a phone call back from their office. Their customer service was phenomenal! They explained it wasn’t their normal bus, apologized for our experience and offered us a partial refund. While the tour guide was knowledgeable and did a good job showing us around, we had a horrible experience on the bus due to the air conditioner being broken. Had we known this, we never would have signed up for the tour. We were so uncomfortably hot, all we could think about was how long it would be until we could get off the bus. In our opinion, it is extremely overpriced and not worth it.
We loved it! Very educational & entertaining. Learned a lot of really interesting Chicago history. Lasts close to 2 hours & you will stay on the bus the entire time. A great way to see the city.
Great way to see Chicago and get a little history while learning all about prohibitions biggest players! Our guide Dimples was hilarious and I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the windy city!
Fun and delightfully cheesy tour! This tour of famous historical gangster spots in Chicago is both educational and fun. The tour guides are in character, which adds to the amusement. Our guides were great- both were knowledgeable and genuinely funny. A big thanks to Biggie Blue Eyes and his partner Southside for making our tour great!
Great ! One of the best if not the best tour weve ever been on. Very funny and informative also.
This is real crime tour of chicago, don’t believe in others. this is old n famous n original gangster tour of chicago. if you don’t do this tour than you missed something really good about chicago
Did the tour today, awesome guide with yons of knowledge!
These guys are great! This tour is very entertaining and informative. This is a fantastic way to see the infamous side of Chicago. I highly recommend these guys!
Hands down the best tour I’ve ever been on! It was a great tongue-in-cheek, self-deprecating, surface deep but fun way to explore Chicago for the first time. Our guide “Dimples” was great - very polished experience, and they threw in a mix of facts of the modern city in with the mob bits.
I liked that they had actors and had giveaways. However, most of the time the guide was talking TOO fast and the words werent clearly spoken. What I did hear was good info, but it was just too hard to hear what he was saying. He lost the attention of some people so they started chatting, which made it even harder to hear. I feel he could have spoken at a normal pace and cut out some of the music they were playing. Or record some of the speaking parts if its a lot of information and we listen to that. So I will have to book a different company to do some comparisons.
All but the bus is good. Bus is not made for scenic tour.
Great tour by Johnny three knives and Johnny Rocco. Very informative. Like a lot of people have said its too bad a lot of places they pointed out are gone and the air on the bus just couldnt keep up. Other than those two things it was a great tour. Even my teenage kids enjoyed it!!!
Respect to hardworking guys, especially for driver. Good educated with deep knowledge of Chicago history. Got a bunch of fun, plus many interesting historical facts. Was a little problem to find the right place, were tour starting, we are not local. Reasonable price, you will not be disappointed.
Actor was incredible and knowledgeable. Unfortunately it was really just a 2 hour bus ride around Chicago with poor visibility in a dark bus.
Excellent and very interesting tour, even if youre not into gangsters etc. The tour guide, Biggy Blue Eyes, was a great showman and fantastic entertainer!
Information ws great, the guides were wonderful, it was so interesting seeing all the spots! Unfortunately it was a hot day, and the ac couldnt even come close to cooling the bus. I honestly would come do this in the late fall instead, this was my husbands birthday weekend tho, and this tour was the big surprise, as he loves all things mob related. Was just hard to focus on the tour more than wanting out of the heat
This was a great tour. I have done other tours in Chicago, but this was by far the most entertaining.
Not much info, unfunny comments, too expensive for the limited experience u r provided on the tour
Was looking for something to do while it was raining that we still got to see the city, and stumbled across this! The guys were funny and entertaining- but also super knowledgeable, which was great! I can’t remember both guys names, but Shoulders was our driver, and he definitely delivered! Learned a lot about Chicago during prohibition, and got to see parts of the city I otherwise wouldn’t have seen. Totally recommend these guys!
DO NOT BOOK! We took this tour on 8/4 and the temp was 96 outside... inside the bus? AT LEAST 100 degrees and I’m not exaggerating ... everyone was sweating profusely... even my SHINS were sweating. I honestly thought someone was going to have a medical emergency. Extremely reckless to continue a tour like that’s without warning us. If you look at other reviews, it looks like this has been an issue. So that tells me that their greed outweighs their customer’s experience on this tour because these tours are packed and for over $160 for 4 people, they could’ve easily afforded to fix the AC! Oh, and we weren’t even offered water! Thought I’d mention that since other reviewers said they were at least offered that... but not us. I really don’t even know how the tour was since I couldn’t focus on anything other than not having an anxiety attack.
Got a conformation email for our tour yesterday for today.49 minutes later we got a email canceling our tour with no explanation. Tried to call them but they were already closed for the day at 2 pm.Based on reading other reviews I suspect they did not have there desired amount of people to go.(nothing stated on website about minimum number of people)I always luv to book weeks ahead only to get cancelled the day before.NOT
Every single thing. Great bus. Great views. Great stories. Extremely Informative. And they dress and tell the stories in mobster character. Very highly recommend
Shout-out my man biggie blue-eyes. Great tour during a tough day for traffic.
They dressed up an attempted to play the gangster role which was cool. The information was way to fast and the man would not stop screaming in an attempt to make people laugh, I mean screaming at the top of his lungs... again though I didnt learn anything from the tour because he was running through everything so quickly as if we already knew the story. It could have been done much better.
A must do attraction. The guide keep it entertaining and interesting. You see parts of Chicago you normally wouldn’t see
Great tour of Chicagos gangsta past. The guys did a great job and made it a lot of fun. Great information and great accents. They will go out of their way to satisfy their customers. My wife and I had a great time! Thanks guys!
My brother visited Chicago this weekend and we were lucky enough to jump on this very popular tour. It was a perfect way to see many of the Chicago neighborhoods and learn about the Chicago gangster history. I will definitely recommend the tour to my personal training clients, friends, and family!!!
Beware the walk up price is different from price in their website. Not recommand for foreign visitor, I came from uk and cant understand what the tour guide said half the time. He talked too fast and not very clear.
My parents were in from out of town and we wanted to do something fun while showing them around the city. We chose this tour since it had high ratings and based on the pictures looked like a fun time. The tour was a bit disappointing and defiantly not worth $35 a person. Not sure if the actors were having an off day but the energy was low and the jokes were not very funny, kinda felt a little forced. Also felt like the tour was more driving around than anything else. I think with a script rewrite and actually getting out to see the stops could have made this a better experience. Just wasnt very entertaining, wish we went on an architect tour for the money instead.
We had so much fun! The tour guide, Rocco, was hilarious!
This tour was definitely worth every penny and was a lot of fun. The tour guides had a lot of information and shared it in a great Chicago way. If you visit the city, you need to put this on your agenda.
We had a great time. The tour bus is comfortable and you dont feel cramped in a full bus. Its also just the right size to feel involved in the storytelling. The two actors were campy & clever. It was a fun way for natives to see the town in a new way.
The tour was amazing and the bus was very clean and comfortable.
This trip was my absolute FAVORITE part of our trip to Chicago. They were funny. They told great stories. They knew their history. And from being out of town, we really got a chance to see parts of the city we never would have otherwise. LOVED IT.
Great job by the wise guys! Lots of fun, a bit of cheese and a bit of history. Just what I expected. We had a really fun time and got to learn a number of interesting facts about the mobsters and Chicago. I would recommend.
These guys know how to make a bus ride tour of gangster areas (most of them gone now) come to life. They are fun, lively and super entertaining.
This tour is well done! They drive you around the city telling fascinating gangster and old Chicago stories while keeping the tour light and fun. There is a hint of cheesiness, but it adds to the fun. I wouldnt consider this just a touristy thing to do as I was blown away by all the past drama that ensued in my neighborhood and places I go everyday. I took my parents and they also found it to be fun but informative. Good way to see the city without walking too!
A Chicago Must. my wife and I have lived in Chicago for 10+ years and never bothered with tours, but we were wrong. The Untouchables Tour is delightful.
Super fun tour. A great way to see the city!
Very knowledgeable tour guide but drove almost 2 hours to see three or four spots by window.
Well worth your time and money
These folks make Chicagos mob history fun and interesting.
These guys are amazing ! We had the pleasure to have Shoulders and Three Knives as guides and they were awesome !! Super interesting information and stories & nice vibe. Definitely a must if you are in Chicago ;)
This was my 3rd excursion with the Untouchables Tour ( in 25 years!) and i must say, this tour delivers!!For a great overview of the Northside, Southside and Westside gangs and Prohibition in Chicago, you don’t want to miss this!Highly recommend!! Worth every penny....
Very fun tour. And informative.
They did a great job sharing this time in history with us - nice tour if you want to just relax and spend time seeing the city while listening to awesome storytellers.
Good but were late and never apologized. Would have been better with stops
Amazing and great experience. Really nice Guides. Worth booking in advance.
Nice your a little touristy
Quite disappointed in this tour No new information and it was one person narrating I expected a lot more!
Fantastic! A great night out! Cheeky, fun, and educational. Highly recommend!
This tour was OK. It was defintely not worth the price. Our guides shared a few interesting tidbits, but almost all of the sights were gone (where that parking lot is now is where the building was that_______happened.) I expected it to be cheesy and it did not disappoint in that way. The driver called me out in front of everyone for videoing part of thier spiel. Photos are fine but apparently sound is a no no. The best part about it was the bus. It was comfortable with nice big windows. It was a nice rest from all the walking we had been doing.
Very funny and tour guides dressed the part. Highly recommend.
Excellent tour! Enjoyed Dimples and Rocco very much!
AMAZING THE DESERVE MORE
If you have any doubts if this is worth it or not, it definitely is. The tour guides are great story tellers and really bring everything to life!
2 hours fly by fast. The two tour guides dressed as gangsters tell stories, crack jokes and even sing a little Italian opera.Lots of fun. Well worth the money.
Great tour! Super tour guides they really seemed to enjoy what they were doing
Great fun! Our tour guide was very entertaining.
Very slow and information was all over the place slow down and tell the people what happened at the locations.
A lot of the places are gone, and you dont get out of the bus, but the bus is comfortable, the guys are hilarious, and you get to see parts of the city you might not otherwise visit. Thank you for the fun history lesson!
Shoulders and Babyface Bambino did one heck of a job!Highly recommend this Gangsta Tour!It was a great time and well worth the $30 ticket price
While visiting family in Chicago, this tour was on my top must see list. After recent shoulder surgery, I decided to brave the rough roads of Chicago and not miss the bus. I am so glad I didnt miss this. Friends and family have been calling me Shoulders so imagine my surprise that our guide driver had the same nickname! Serendipitous perhaps? :)Johnny Three Knives was our sharp wit, charming guide. Mi fai sciogliere come gelato al sole. Sei bellissimo Johhny. While the face of Chicago has changed and grown over the years, the stories remain alive especially when told in a captivating and entertaining way such as those you will find on this tour. I highly recommend :)Grazie, signori, grazie! Cent Anni!
Loveeeeee everything about this tour!!!
Great tour! The guides were very informative but also funny and I definitely got lots from this.
Today December 3, 2016 you guys are great and do a beautiful job my mother loved her birthday present I loved you guys youre very personable thank you for showing us a great time
This was such a GREAT tour. We were welcomed by 2 (very in sync cast of characters) that made a history lesson engaging & wonderful. Its a FUN tour and when you get off the party bus, you talk about what you have learned..............Im still saying, I had no idea !!. Its great, you meet at the Rock-n-Roll McDonalds with ample time to get a cup of coffee for the trip.Well worth the $ 30/person with a tip at the end.............enjoy your time !!!!!!!!
