My friend suggested me this place as this was a good jazz bar. So glad to go there and experience the most amazing live jazz performance. I didnt order any food just went with the drink, price was okay and the drink was fantastic - infact absolutely tasty! They changed an entry fee of 20$ because of the performance which was totally worth it. Loved my stay and will definitely go again. The interior was beautiful and was decorated with jazz history and musicians and musical instruments history too.

Chicagos best blue music venue in the south loop of the windy city. On Buddy Guys B-Day, some great spirits shots are on the house of the hottest blues. And sometimes you may even run into a famous rock n roll start like Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana and others.

I had a wonderful night in this blues club. I had one night in Chicago and I wanted to go to blues club so this was my choice. I am not a Jazz/Blues fan but I am giving it try time by time and i wouldn’t forgive myself if I miss this one. It has a different atmosphere than the other clubs I have been before. Low celling wide saloon with the tables around with good space between. I liked it. No seat saving/reservation so you can sit wherever you want. I paid 20 dollars at the door. I went this place after a heavy dinner so I didn’t try any food. I just had drinks. I didn’t sit at the tables but at the bar. I enjoyed the music. All the people in the club was up and dancing at some point so it wad interesting to see how people was hooked. Great experience.

If you love blues then this is an excellent museum of blues where brilliant musicians perform every night, and if you are lucky like me...Buddy Guy himself my drop by. Food and drinks are obviously excellent but the ambience is extraordinary, certainly gives you the vibe of the romantic age of Chicago blues. Excellent place to just chill for the whole evening enjoying best of the blues.

Very nice place, incredible musicians. There is a 10$ fee to enter the place. We arrived an hour before the show started to make sure we would have a place, because we did not buy our tickets online. Alcohol is cheaper than other bars we visited. We stayed there until 1am. Place was packed. Good memories of a place visited by so many legendary musicians. Highly recommended it! Found by chance with warm-up act Eric Hendricks showing off several guitar styles ... Finger picking, strumming chords, more. A great depth of awareness of the history of his craft. Sadly no CD of his performance availableThe main act was Jimmy Johnson. All I can say is: to he left the house howling for more. _Then_ Buddy Guy provided vocals and narrative, which pulled the crowd out on to the dance floorAll that before the intermissionA wonderful evening

Costumer service and attention got an A. A very good ambience and music.I went for a dinner on a random night, with Ross Green and his band performing some Chicago Blues the right way. But before the show has started, my wife and I had the opportunity to meet and have a photo with Mr. Buddy Guy himself. We were enjoying the show and having our dinner and all of a sudden the legend come into the stage. Buddy start performing with Ross Green for a 15 minutes round was just the cherry on top of the pie.If you like the Blues, then this place is the right spot to spend with family and friends, while enjoying some of the best Blues in sweet home Chicago town.

Its got some cool guitars, signed by previous owners. Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, BB King, really historic phots of true musical legends.Food was terrific.I had an issue with being hassled for $10 to stay on after 9 oclock to watch the house band. 7 of us went in @ 7 oclock, ordered drinks and food. Two wanted to stay for the show, the rest of us were leaving. A staff member hassled us and said we had two minutes to leave. We had only just settled the bill ($214 + 18% tip) and we are being what seemed to us as being booted out. When we originally arrived, the place was dead and no one was eating. It was only just starting to get busy about 9 but all of a sudden we are no longer welcome. Even though, we still had drinks to finish. I really wont hurry back!!

Without a doubt, Buddy Guys Legends in Chicago is the premier Blues Club in the world. A heavy boast, but where else will you see the man himself hopping onstage with the evenings band, belt out a few numbers and share a few fascinating stories of his storied career ??? The club features a whos who of LIVE MUSIC talent seven days a week including a dinner set where patrons can enjoy some of the finest Louisiana cuisine to be found in the Windy City. Coupled with a family friendly atmosphere and walls lined with Blues History and treasures, a visit to Buddy Guys Legends should be a number one priority when visiting Chicago !!!!

The live music was pleasant enough, but the food was not. The greens were tough and I had to eventually leave it because it wouldnt break down to small enough pieces to swallow and the white rice that came with the catfish dinner had no taste. The waitresses and staff were efficient and organized. I didnt stay for the 9:30 show, so I cant comment on that. Overall, it really was a 3 1/2 Stars.

Um so its hard to select what to say about this place...There is a ton of history joined to this place and the walls show it, plastered with guitars and memorabilia. The music was on point every night we went. Yes its a bluesy late night bar ambiance, very crowded and dark. But thats where the charm lies. They engage the crowd while entertaining with amazing vibes/music. Little tough to get sPrompt service but thats to be expected in a setting like this.Highly recommend but understand this is a late night blues bar setting.

There is a lot just up the block that has $11 parking for 8 hours, I believe, which is a really good price in comparison to the other parking lots we saw.The staff was friendly, the drinks were really good (most of the cocktails are super expensive - my husbands jack and coke and vodka Sprite were only $6). We ordered the fried catfish (which was extremely buttery soft and tasted great with or without their cajun tarter sauce), the macaroni and cheese, my husband got the peanut buddy pie (which he devoured), and I got the pecan pie (it was warm and amazing). We showed up at 6:45pm on a Saturday because other reviews said you needed to show up early to get a table. The tables are first come first served, but it seems many people just came for the free show, food, and drinks and then left. If youre worried about getting a table, arrive 30 minutes to an hour before the show. Nobody sat at our table, but they do allow people to join you at your table if other tables are taken. The free show, performed by Linsey Alexander, was so much fun that we set our expectations high for the paid show at 9:30pm, that late show was just as good if not, dare I say, better. We ended up having to leave after an hour because we were super tired from travelling all day, but the show was great!! There were people in the audience from all over the country and some from Hungary and Australia. We will definitely be back!

What an amazing place with great blues memorabilia of true legends. Buddy Guy played at 11:30 when we were there. Mind. Blown. The music was unbelievable. The food was very good. However, when we arrived around 7 pm, all of the seating was taken. We had to choose from going upstairs to get a table and be served food - while watching a live feed - or standing for the next 5+ hours. This is disappointing, everyone there paid $65+ per ticket to be there. I would prefer that they sell tickets for house seating, standing room, or overflow at different prices so that audience members go in knowing what the experience will be. I have been to other blues/jazz clubs that only sell enough tickets as the seats that are available and that was a better experience. I understand that their website says this is the policy, it was just disappointing.

Great time! I definitely recommend making time to go and enjoy the music. 20 dollars to get in and the food is a reasonable price. I tried two different drinks both of which I enjoyed. One was called the Blues and the other was an Orange Whip. Husband had a dark beer which he really enjoyed. Dont worry Im posting pics of the drinks and food. I had ribs, coleslaw and fries. Hubby had a sampler of Jambalaya, Gumbo, red bean and rice and hmm I cant remember right now cuz I had such a great time, but I do have pics of the menu which I am posting so zoom in and take a look. I dont usually give 5 stars and Im not sure if it was the drinks or what lol jk but it was worth it. There were people from all over the world there, so I guess you can say it is world famous. We parked down the block at a lot under the L so it was super convenient. The entertainment was GREAT.

This place is phenomenal. Stopped by one random weeknight while waiting for a table at Lou Malnatis nearby. The band was incredible, especially for no cover! We were back for a private event the following night, and the band was far too good for me to be shamefully forgetting their name. On their own, they were ridiculously good, killing it all night, and keeping the dance floor blocked solid. Im not sure how often this happens on a regular basis, but Buddy Guy himself showed up and sang a couple tunes, giving them a plug and putting the night over the top.A highlight of my visit to Chicago, for sure.
