Great location, amazing space, great energy, plus an extensive wine list to match. What a great place to spend time with friends (even if they drink beer vs. wine) Put the Blue Chicago on your must visit list... LOVE this place
The best ever Blues place downtown! Advice, go there well in advance and take the first table in front of the stage. We had a chance to take with the artists and had a WONDERFUL time listening to music, singing and having great fun. Price are very affordable, great location, nice and friendly staff, nothing to complain about :-) Thanks again for this amazing moment we had!
No-nonsense, hole in the wall, dive-y blues bar with decently priced beverages (note no food available). Arrived Saturday night around 11:30pm and caught about an hour set of the excellent Sheryl Youngblood Blues Band. Was standing around the bar for a bit but managed to find a seat near the stage for most of the set. Recommended!
This place has great energy! Ultimate for Blues fans. The band performed for a solid hour and had us grooving. The drinks menu however could use some help. Fun place to come to with your group!
OMG. We had a out of body experience. This place has the best blues you can ever want for. We dance all night. I wanted to empty my purse in the tip jar. The music, hospitality, patrons from all over the world was fantastic. Thank you for playing real music. If you are a blues head like me you have to experience it for yourself
We had a blast! We were so luck to see 2 time Grammy nominated musician John Primer and the real deal blues band featuring Demetria Taylor. The show was excellent! The staff is friendly and Erica is awsome! We were never in need of anything. This is an intimate venue with a great feel. When you walk in you can tell youre at the right place for blues. Good entertainment, sound, staff, and drinks. Dont miss out!
Love this place. The music was fabulous. They need to work on the drinks. Id rather pay more for more than sweet mix, drinks barely had alcohol.
Small venue with amazing music! Def get there early to get a good spot. The band was top notch, perfect way for me to end my short visit to Chicago!
Door man, $12, I say, but we have 4..door man: that will be $48, I said but we are all going to be having cocktails..door man: well dont you think everyone else is too?. Best $$ spent for great entertainment! Dont let the cover keep you away.
Loved it! Popped in on our last night in town. Intimate environment, friendly staff and patrons, and although Im no blues aficionado the band sounded fantastic.
Great experience. My dad and I went and saw the wonderful Shirley Johnson and the BTS Express. They were amazing!
The must see place for blues lovers. Downstairs, a pretty nice bar and stage for music lovers. Upstairs an opera. Daily events and bands playing. Multiple memorabilia to buy.A must see in Chicago. Located near Trump tower (extremely close to multiple public transportation options)
Exactly what you would want for a cozy blues night with good friends and drinks. True flavor of Chicago.
Small place with a big sound. Fast drink service. Nice host. Cover was about 10$. Got pretty crowded fast and not a lot a room to stand being they stress to keep the area clear. Overall I enjoyed it
Love Chicago blues, and this a fantastic spot to catch some downtown. Lots of viewing area and reasonably priced drinks.
Great music and atmosphere. Bartender could be friendlier, but its all part of the charm!
Awesome and authentic blues club. Had a fantastic time and heard some great blues!
It was my bday weekend my best friend went and had a blast first time there and it was to die for. Great music and the people were awesome
Great place, a must if you are in the area. Great music, friendly people, fun times, life is good.Had a great time last week here, totally worth the line, which I will add, moves quickly. I stopped in about 10pm, not an issue. Cover charge was about $12.00 per person.Enjoy!
One day Im going to grow up and own this place. Best local blues bar in Chicago.
Very chill area in downtown Chicago. Found this place giant yelp and ot does not disappoint. Service charge is reasonable, worth the live band entertainment that youll see. Drinks are also cheap, would recommend this place to others.
Great place to listen to original Chicago Blues. Great artists on stage in closeness to the audience. Prices are moderate to low. The best night I spent in Windy City.
Great place, vivid blues. Highly recommended if you want to feel real blues life of Chicago. The entrance fee is 10 dollars
Hole in the wall dirty old wonderful blues bar with bands that should have their own label. Drink, dance, and get your blues on.
Authentic blues experience, this was the best thing we did in Chicago. The place is small, no frills but the music was divine.
Cant recommend highly enough. The music was great. The bartender was awesome and attentive to his customers. Prices were reasonable. Cool, relaxed ambiance. Dont think twice, go! A good time was had by all.
Cool atmosphere. Good music. My first time visiting here. Will be back.
Went on a Saturday night, it was crowded and the band was great! Wait staff was attentive. The gentlemen at the door were also very helpful.
Great local spot for real blues. Reasonable prices, great music, unpretentious.
The place to go to listen some great live blues in Chicago Downtown!!
The Band was amazing!!
Great blues music. Casual, fun atmosphere
Nice place to experience the Chicago blues music. Audience mainly tourists. Drinks are cheap!
What an authentic amazing staple in our great city!!!
Chill good music
Absolutely the best blues bar in Chi-town
Excellent live music. Good selection of bourbon.
Grate music, nice people
Great blues night in Chicago with the BTC live band. I definitely recommend this place
Blues the way blues was meant to be enjoyed. Talented, intimate, gritty.
Fun. Cozy bar with live blues music
Always a fun experience, especially when entertaining out of town guests. Cheap beer. Friendly staff.
For my first trip to Chicago I insisted on seeing a local blues bar and this is where everyone recommended. It was small and perfect. Exactly everything I wanted it to be. The band was fantastic and everyone in the bar was happy and having a great time. I really enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago that loves blues music
The local bands best blues performance.
Amazing, Amazing!!! A must see for any blues music fan!! Get there early. Its small, but I promise, big on talented musicians!!
Can get packed. Good ol Blues. It was fun
Great place to see live music, even on a weeknight. Beer is cheap considering location downtown.
I had a great time and really liked the band
Come at 9 pm, because its get full fast. Very enjoyable!!
Blues Blues and more Blues...small place...but the real deal..
Reasonoble price and nice music.
If your are looking for authenticity, this is it. Top spot for live blues music. The decor is original. Nothing fancy or trying to be modern. Pure authentic; it’s getting rare to find especially in River North. Affordable drinks too. Bring cash for the cover charge.
I would have given zero star if possible, but unfortunately not. The guy at the entrance was amazingly horrible. We had to pay $20 in CASH just for the entrance. We withdrew $40 and give it to the guy for two people ($24); and he gave NO CHANGE back. But we were still applied the ridiculous two drinks minimum and more than $20 with a credit card for drinks rules. I absolutely strongly recommend NEVER to go to this place. You will never be happy when walking out of the place.
Fabulous music, great atmosphere, good drink selection and the staff was terrific
This was such a cool bar! The music was completely legit. Granted, it was mostly white folk in this clearly traditionally black bar, but I didnt think that took anything a way from the quality of the music or the feeling that you were sitting in a piece of music history. Plus the drinks were fairly affordable, relatively speaking, which was pretty nice. The cover charge was a bit steep, though.
Loved it great atmosphere, music and service. A must for any visitor.
Always good to be here nice crowds damn good staff
Great place to hangout with good music and adult beverages
First class entertainment in a very intimate venue - would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to capture the essence of Chicagos role in developing the urban jazz movement
A decent place to watch live Blues in Chicago. The staff are all that friendly however but you can still enjoy the music and the drink prices are very reasonable
Great atmosphere. Music is top notch.
If youre looking for a good hole in the wall blues bar down town, this will work. Great band and service was good. $10.00 cover per person.
Lives up to the hype from local your guides as a great place for daily live music. Danced the night away while making new friends. Hats off to the server and bartender...very attentive... Never an empty glass #BlueChicago#RealMusic
Had a great time! Was schooled in the blues!
Live band every night. Really nice crowd, the band sometimes improvises songs and its hilarious.
Best experience for people who love the blues. Excellent music for a reasonable price. Cosy atmosphere, nice stuff. I will be back!
The Mike Wheeler band was fantastic. Each musician - acoustic guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboard - all masters. Each was engaging with the audience. Service was friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Cozy place with Nice staff, good crowd, and good music.
My favorite blues club in Chicago. No food but they have a full bar. All the seating is stools.
Saw Sheryl Youngblood Blues Band. They were amazing. Service was good. Great experience.
Great place and great music.
My favorite place in Chicago! Wish it was a bit bigger because getting a seat is hard! Wonderful music!
Great atmosphere! The music and drinks were great. I definitely will be returning!
Cute little place. Great Blues. Cover on Saturday $12.00 with a 2 drink minimum, I found reasonable. Basic bar drinks and beers. If you like love Blues in a smaller setting, this a place for you.
A genuine Chicago experience. Great music, basic but good cold drinks (PBR and Bud), and an intimate audience-stage setup.
Great blues joint, no frills just good music! No food just drinks! Tonight BTS Express with Shirley Johnson.
Love. Love. Love. Found this place while walking around and was pleasantly surprised! Blues band was amazing. Crowd was great. Staff was friendly. Will return again!!!!
The bsnb was great!
