A little pricey but worth it. Bought two Angelfish from here. The first day just bought one but she was hiding so I got her a friend and she seems way happier! Really nice store employees. Thanks! Will be back soon to buy food

Ive gotten fish from pet shops, but a lot of the time they dont last long due to illness or age. Golden Aquarium had THE HEALTHIEST Bettas I have ever seen. Marbles (as I have affectionately named mine) is younger and the colours have changed, but he is incredibly healthy and strong. Loves swimming around and actually gets Excited for food and myself. As soon as I enter the room, he swims to wherever I am. 10/10. Will be getting all my fish from here from now on.

This place is small but has an awesome selection of fresh and saltwater fish and a couple of other cool things and the prices are seriously the best in Chicago and possibly Illinois and believe me when I say that because Ive spent ours going to every aquarium shop in Illinois

I went for the first time the other time and its really nice. They have a lot of the odds and ends that you dont see in chain pet stores (like almond leaves for betta fish and filters by multiple companies) The fish all look extremely healthy and there is a lot of different foods for any fish you are looking for. By the area you wouldnt expect it to be as good as it is and the staff is really nice.

Nice fish store with a decent variety of dry goods and live stock. Prices can be a little high pricey compared to the quality of fish you receive. Staff was okay but I always feel rushed when I visit. Usually have nice goldfish and flowerhorns.

Wonderful place to shop what you need for your aquarium. The staff was very friendly. My tank was still in nitrogen cycle, so I really just came in to check out the store. One of the staff, chat me through the whole tour and I end up buying a nice little bush of Riccia for my tank (always been a plastic deco person, so switching to something new is always welcome I say), cant wait to go back and grab my favorite guppies.

This is a great place! They are really helpful!, they explain everything in detail!What can I say, they have a GREAT collection of plants and fish!Im more into plants, and I learnt a lot from them! They have everything (CO2 tanks, regulators, plant fertilizers, bubble counters, so on..) :-).I was visiting Chicago, had extra time and decided to visit the place, time well spent!! bought some plants and fertilizers, and would definitely recommend the place! Im sure I will visit them again!

So Im almost always there I probably bug this guy that works there way too much but god I love fishes my question are almost always the same the people that work there r great

This place was deplorable. Most of the fish were in dirty, bare tanks that were way too small for them; most, if not all, of the fish I saw had some form of fin rot or fin nipping, most likely from the large quantity of fish in too-small, filthy tanks; there was a remarkable quantity of plecos, who are likely to die in their too-small inhabitants and huge quantity in one place, without enough food or room to move; the bettas were in sorry shape; everything was exceedingly expensive; most of the fish were incorrectly labeled; and there was water all over the floor.Do not come here. Abhorrent.

I had an excellent experience at this store recently. They had the plant species I was looking for, had advice to offer about species that would go well with it, etc. Other places in Chicago gave me the run around and had poor quality products. This place was truly different.

Worker didnt seem to know that much about goldfish he told me that goldfish can only be with other goldfish but thats not true they can do pretty well with some other cold water fish as long as there not smaller in size compared to the goldfish
