We had a pretty great time with this escape room, and overall it was filled with fun and unique puzzles as well as some interesting decor. I greatly appreciated the lack of cookie cutter puzzles because thats sometimes frustrating to feel like youve already solved these kinds of puzzles before. My boyfriend and I have done upwards of two dozen escape rooms across the country, and this one did a great job at being a great combo of goofy, challenging, and fun for all ages!

Our team of 10 had a great time at Room X Escape for our team holiday outing! The Pyramid room was a blast and had so many unique and interesting puzzles to figure out. Eric was extremely helpful and kind. We would all recommend this experience, it was so fun!

We visited Room X while visiting Chicago for the weekend and found the room to be challenging, engaging, and original. There were only three of us so we took advantage of the unlimited clues. And, yes, we escaped!

It was my first time doing an escape room, but it was very exciting! The puzzles apparently were also tougher and more thought out than most escape rooms, according to one of the people I went with. The only downside was that it was a bit dirty/grimy, like the floors were icky and stuff looked old. But it was still a fun time!

Our team was stumped. We got further than many others but did not make it out. Try the pirate room but only if you like intense puzzles and lots of crawling and bending. Lots of fun and a great team experience.

YOU MUST VISIT THIS PLACE.They made very innovative use of technology in their rooms. There were 4-5 experiences I had in their escape room, that I had never seen before at any other place.Some solutions were literally unbelievable, like something out of a far-fetched Indiana Jones movie.You can request unlimited clues (they wont ruin the experience/illusion, dont worry)And if you fail, they will still walk you through till the end of the puzzle, so you wont feel like you missed out.Also a really convenient location in the city.

Absolutely wonderful time! The staff was super friendly and helpful and the room we did (The Pyramid Room) was super challenging but so much fun. We failed at finding all the clues, but we were so close to finding the last few that they let us stay and complete the room.

Our team of 13 went to Room X Escape for a team build opportunity. We were greeted by Ninfa, our game master, who was not only friendly and fun, she was professional and very detailed in her explanation of the rules and expectations through out our experience. We had a great time “escaping” The Castle Room and will likely be back to attempt one of the other room options they offer!

We had a great time at Room X Escape! This was my first time and I can say I am officially addicted. I did the Castle with my son and his girlfriend and got out! Of course with the help of the other team of 4 people. I loved how we all just became instant teammates and worked closely together to make it happen. The three of us will be back soon to take on another puzzle. I highly recommend Room X Escape!

Went in not knowing what I was getting myself into and it actually turned out to be SO MUCH FUN! For me I love puzzles so it made it even more interesting.Can’t wait to go again!

This was such a wonderful experience! Me and my friends were a group of 9 and most of us had never completed an escape room before. Not only was Room X Escape a stimulating experience but we were made to feel welcome, well educated on what to expect in the puzzle room, and had SO much fun solving the room. There are a couple of different themed rooms at the level we completed, a castle room and a pyramid room—we completed the Pyramid room. It was an hour-long and we got all of the puzzles except for one! The staff member working, Chris, was so very helpful, kind, and had a good sense of humor. There were a couple of little tiny hiccups with one of the clues, but Chris gave us a little extra time because of it.Overall, this was a great experience and definitely recommend it for large groups of friends, family, coworkers, etc. Thanks, again!

This place was slightly out of the way to find, but was amazing. Staff was super nice. Did 2 escape rooms back to back and didnt solve either. Still had a ton of fun. Puzzles were challenging without being unreasonable. Id go again in a heartbeat.

Lots of fun, an excellent place for team-building activities or family bonding. Miles away more interesting and in depth than other escape rooms Ive been to!

Good room, could use some basic upgrades but the fundamentals were there

I had the misfortune of experiencing other escape rooms that are far more expensive, with a high production value. You can truly feel like youre on a movie set. Room X Escape is not that kind of experience. It has very difficult puzzles, but its paired with basic props and limited furnishings. Of the 23 puzzles, we only solved 15 in one hour. We brought 4 kids with us (two 12 year olds; two 10 year olds). Most of it was too difficult for them to participate. The Castle Room is better suited for 10-15 adults.Our clue master was very nice and accommodating. After our game was over, he helped us solve the remaining puzzles so we left knowing what to do better next time. The owner contacted me to apologize for not having an ideal escape room experience. It just goes to show that given more time and maybe a larger budget, Room X Escape will only getter better in the future.

Have done both the Castle and Pirate rooms now, both thoroughly enjoyable. No glitches, attentive game master, non-linear problem-solving (better for groups of four or more), fairly basic but fun and immersive theming. Went with a couple of newbies, they’re converts for life thanks to the excellent experience!

We were first timers and sadly didnt escape. Came with a group to the Castle room and we were only a few clues away from solving that even our game master Eric commented how well we did with little help and with the small size of our group for the most challenging room. Would love to come back and try a different room. Overall fun for our group.

Me and my friend did the treasure room! The puzzles were incredibly unique! Definitely a change from other escape rooms I’ve done! Eric our game master was very attentive and so sweet!!!! We will be back to try the other rooms!

The puzzles were all very logical and unique. I would love to see more electronic locks instead of combination locks but the combination locks didnt seem overwhelming. The pirate theme and immersive experience was very strong. The lady working was also extremely fun and friendly. We loved her pirate accent! Only critique was when asking for a clue, I would have loved a hint in the right direction instead of just the answer. Otherwise very well done and highly recommended.

The room was certainly not for up to 15 people.It was however a flawlessly executed room.It is tricky to get in if you don’t have a phone to call upstairs at night.Puzzles are very innovative for experienced teams.

Very cool place! They give you an hour to figure out everything and give you unlimited clues. We lost but my kids and I had an amazing time!

Compared to other escape rooms it’s subpar, both in the design of the room and the quality of the experience. The staff forgot to put some of the room together and had to enter and fix what they forgot to do. Some of the puzzles didn’t work and the last puzzle even broke open 10 minutes into the room and spoiled it. The staff had to constantly intervene. This was still fun but there are better options (escape Chicago next to Trader Joe’s is the best)

I went here with a couple friends. It was my first time experiencing an escape room and it was a great time. I really want to find a time to go back soon.

Ive played >50 rooms, and the Treasure Hunt was one of the better ones! Our game master, Nimfa, was very charming and personable. The puzzles were VERY challenging for just me and my other escape room enthusiasts to complete within the 60 minute timeframe, but a group of 3-5 would likely have been able to. There are so many surprises and interesting challenges in this game, and the set is very immersive. Highly recommend!

My coworkers enjoy this but its not for me.

My only fault with this would be the dated space. The rooms were hard, but having done a couple others, and completed them with time left over, this was an exceptional challenge that I liked. I can also add that the other 19 people who where split across two rooms liked the challenge also, it was the talk of our dinner.

Awesome experience! We had a group of 8 adults in The Treasure room. It may have been a few too many but also it could have helped us because it was a challenging room. So many cool tricks and effects it was unbelievable! The staff was nice and welcoming. We had so much fun and will be back again for the other rooms! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Ive done several escape rooms and this one was the most challenging. It was really cool with puzzles, lazers, hidden doors. My family did the pirate room and it was very fun (and filled with treasure).

This is an awesome place! We did the treasure and the pyramid. Pyramid is a bit more challenging but both at moderate difficulty level. We felt accomplishing after succeeding. Cant wait to try the castle. The Gamemaster Eric is pretty awesome, too.

Went here for a team outting and it was a lot of fun! They have different sized escape rooms and they ended up recommending one for our group size.

Great escape room venue for large groups. Ive tried the Castle room with a group of fourteen people (we made it!) and the Pyramid room with eleven people (we failed). They keep the theme going and the surprises coming! One twist vs. other places is that you have to find a total number of clues to escape, in any order. Once you find them all, youre done. I will give a slight knock to the Pyramid room in that many of the clues near the end were sequential and much more complex than the initial clues; thats not a design flaw, but just a nuance of the room.

Initial impression was quickly changed. The mystery begins with finding the room. Hidden away in the office building, Room X Escape offered more than was expected. I wont ruin it for anyone but our group was delightfully surprised with the complexity and thpught that went into our scenario. Our Game Master was great, maybe overly encouraging given our performance but she kept us moving without making it easy. We had a fantastic time and it exceeded our expectations.

Pyramid room was amazing! Its huge bring at least 6 people to get to the end. Awesome staff too

We have been to several other escape rooms around Chicago land. Room X Escape is definitely among the top tier. Even with our previous experience, we still took some efforts to finally escape. The puzzles are interesting but challenging. I like the laser piece a lot. Overall, a well done escape room. Strongly recommended!

The castle was a very awesome and well designed room. A little complex but definitely the right kind of complex. They did a great job.

We did the Pirates theme. Fantastic brain teasing experience with loads of surprising mechanisms. Compared to those escape rooms that came with a zombie this is way better in designs and fun. If you have not been here you are still an outsider in the room escape world!

Just OK - the room was super hot. We did a New room that didnt have all the bugs worked out. Some of the puzzles were great and some were so bizarre and far fetched we would have never figured it out - and only saw it played out b/c the host brought in the answer key to finish it.
