Quiet, pretty, with families on the walking path with River scenes and newer condos, apartments, and nearby, a hotel with dining overlooking the river. Also further towards town, past the Marina is the Steamboat burger bar. Sculptures, artistic sidewalks, plantings, with great security, landscaping and housekeeping people are keeping the place up. And best of all for this old guy, clean well lit bathrooms. Oh, did I mention the city recently replaced the picnic tables in the two sun shelters with square tables with permanent checker and chess boards and also, best of all, only three benches each so they are wheelchair accessible!!! Think Ill try to meet a friend there that lives out in Shepherd Hills and watch him beat me in chess.
Nice spot on the TN River Park system. Has parking, covered picnic tables, clean restrooms. Great access point to the river walk. To find go west on MLK Blvd, and keep going. Not a clear entrance sign
People living in the apartments around this area were not particularly friendly, possibly even a little rude.. but as far as the trailhead and trail itself, it was very well maintained and peaceful to walk. I plan to visit again in the future for sure, though one downside is that there are signs posted restricting dogs from walking the trail.(We saw plenty of people with dogs, so not sure how strict the rules on this are)
This is the beginning of the new extension of the River Walk. It is 3.5 miles to the Wheland Trailhead, which is trails end for now. Its a beautiful walk along the Tennessee River and passes by some of the abandoned industry buildings that are still standing. You can walk under an overhead crane built to load nuclear reactors and steam generators onto barges for shipment from Combustion Engineering, and is still operational. There is usually some form of river transport going on. There are city bicycles to rent on both ends.
Nice place to start a walk or a jog or a bike ride.. Also very close to popular things in and around Chattanooga.**Beware of people not staying to the right, like they should.
A good place to walk and run and even cycle. Connects to the river walk from 2 ends so enough trails to burn calories and have fun
Nice park with trail access and clean restrooms
Great little park at the entrance to the Riverwalk. Always clean and very safe.
All of the Riverwalk sections have their own unique quality and beauty, but the Blue Goose Hollow is a standout. My only suggestion: give credit to the artist who designed the sculptures. I didnt see any sign with an artists name.
I love this place. The river is so beautiful. I walk the many stairs and sat in the shaded areas. It is so relaxing.
Quiet run trail
Good spot to rent a city bike, centrally located on the south portion of Riverwalk, right on a pretty part of the Tennessee River. Within walking distance to a couple good eateries and businesses including Parkway Pourhouse and Scotties On the River.
Love it very safe 24/7 and some of the best views in the city...
Great place for the kids.
Gorgeous well lit walk. Just wish they could do something about the smell.
Great place to take my lunch. Love to ride my bike along the river walk. From here, you can ride with the river to your right all the way to Crust Pizza on Broad St. Our group did that for an end of day ride & dinner. Or, head the other direction & ride to the Hunter Art Museum, or as for as the Chickamauga Dam. Several parks & viewing spots along the way.
Nice place for a quick getaway from the city, plus the Riverwalk connects for miles if youre feeling ambitious.
Very well maintained. Very nice walk
Fun! Adventurous
Apparently I visited here although I have no idea what it is because Ive never heard of it. But Im sure its awesome.
Everything was gorgeous. Were visiting from FL and loved it here; we were even able to rent bikes for a ride around downtown Chattanooga and enjoy mountain views whilst riding around.
The trail is well maintained and the bathrooms are kept.
Nice walking trail with a decent view. The only down side are the condos near it.
Good longboarding territory, smooth pavement.
I dont get it. Why put something so big in front of the beautiful mountains and river?!?!?!
Little known entrance to the Riverwalk. Nice Oasis from downtown work. Restrooms and covered picnic tables at the site.
Very nice to run or bike, good parking and access to public bikes.
Too crowded not big enough for me to mine house s. For the area
